  1. I assume you are dead set on a new one, as many are, but have you considered trying a vintage Colt instead?
  2. I think about you posting this most every time I shoot mine, and often look for cracks. So far, so good. Not sure if you just got a bad one, I just got a good one, ammo problem, or what.
  3. Let's start here. What do you dislike about a Colt Lightweight Officer's Model 1911?

    Gas!!

It is worth whatever someone is willing to pay for it.

    Gas!!

There are , however, reasons behind futures traders doing what they do, but they have the final say so to speak.
  6. Far as I know he's still kicking. I see him on some cable tv gun show from time to time. I guess they could be reruns?
  7. Roy Jinks is my hero!

    Gas!!

I noticed it coincided nicely with the missile launch on Syria. Wall street speculators have more control on gas prices than anyone.
  9. To further muddy the waters, the Distinguished Masterpiece is a model 586, and the Combat Magnum is the model 19.
  10. Not quite. There was also one made in 32 Smith and Wesson Long. If you have one of these, you have a real prize indeed. I believe it was the model 15 once they began putting model numbers on their revolvers.
  11. This ain't my first 1911. I have a pile of em, from cheap to expensive. The rest of em work as intended.
  12. I envy those of you who have a place you can have an honest discussion of a religious nature without someone becoming a total jerk if everyone doesn't totally agree with them.
  13. Not sure where to get the taller front sight. What I can do is tweak the extractor a bit, and get some 115 bullets to load for it. I just assumed a 9nm would be regulated for 124 grain loads, and that a 4 digit 1911 wouldn't need tweaking. It's for target fun only. I'd never carry it for self defense.
  14. I'd begin my conversation by asking everyone in the room the purpose of our country's military. I assume the common answer would be to protect our country. If that is indeed the case, I'd suggest that if one has no problem protecting one's country via force if necessary, then I wouldn't expect him to have a problem doing the same for himself or his family.
  15. Four if you count.........ummm nevermind.
  16. Yes sir. There's a lot of good information there that should not be overlooked.
  17. An eye for an eye, a tooth for a tooth?
  18. Funny how times change. 25-30 years ago, you couldn't hardly give away a revolver or lever rifle. Today, you can just about name your price on them.
  19. I'm betting there'd be some recoil there.
  20. You'd be money ahead in the long run to save up and buy a real M1 carbine.
  21. As usual, I'm a little late to the party.
  22. It just strikes me as funny. Rubber grips and engraving. My son has a SP101, and it is a solid gun. I like it. It just isn't something I would have pictured engraving on.
  23. Engraving a Ruger is like painting flames on a Ford Escort.
  24. Some dumbazz always seems to be there handy to ruin it for everyone.
