  1. I'll stick with an m1 carbine.
  2. Where would one find a box of these? I've never seen them.
  3. Interesting concept, but not fer me.
  4. I bought my kid a shotgun a couple of years back, and the rebate came fairly quickly. I wouldn't let that scare me away.
  5. By the time I paid shipping and a transfer fee, it would pretty much negate the good price. Also, I don't currently have a favorite ffl.
  6. While I'd pay that price for an M51, I decided I wouldn't drive to Clarksville for one.
  7. Thanks. I'm hoping to find something a bit closer.
  8. Is there anywhere in Middle Tennessee a man could rent something like this?
  9. Some of the biggest turds in gunmaking history have ended up being quite the collector's items.
  10. I have a couple of the original John Peterson designed model 51 Remingtons; the pistol this new model is based on. The design of the old model 51 is quite intriguing if you are an engineering wonk. I would like to have one in my collection for comparison's sake as much as anything.
  11. This is about as far into the article as felt the need to read.
  12. My wife got a new dining room table and chairs.....I got a bill for the new dining room table and chairs.
  13. I'd like to have an R51 at that price. I guess Clarksville would be the closest store?
  14. Y'all have snow in Murfreesboro? Awesome!!!!!!!!! We didn't get but a stray flurry.
  15. You should give it a whirl. It's the one hobby (aside from poker) that pays for it's self.
  16. To be technically correct, the answer to the question is to buy a 99 Savage.
  17. I have amassed a pile of various metal milsurp mags of unknown origin, and have yet to have a problem with any of them. Some are clean, some are rusty and well worn.
  18. Shoot ball ammo in it like God and John Browning intended. Seriously, you are probably due to replace some springs. Were I to replace the slide spring, I'd also replace the hammer spring as well. They sort of work together as a team. Magazine springs are a cheap and easy thing to replace and mark off the list of potential problems as well.
  19. Same to you, David! I expect you're set up for a really fun Christmas this year with the little ones. Enjoy it, because that magic soon fades never to return.
  20. Neither. Get an old Marlin or Winchester. Either one will exude quality unavailable on later models. I do not either is "better" so to speak. They are just different.
  21. I was talking about the little ones. There's a pair down there now, still shrink wrapped together, and one is empty and the other almost empty.
  22. I have several of those small bottles in the basement. I was moving them around the other day while looking for something else, and noticed several of them were empty and a few were partially full. I wasn't aware they'd leak down over time. Have you had that problem?
  23. Leave it and buy a new safe....delivered!
  24. Shut your mouth!
  25. This thread should serve as a reminder to the folks that are new to the shooting sports as well as those of us with short memories. Remember the boy scout motto: BE PREPARED.
