  1. This ain't my first 1911. I have a pile of em, from cheap to expensive. The rest of em work as intended.
  2. I envy those of you who have a place you can have an honest discussion of a religious nature without someone becoming a total jerk if everyone doesn't totally agree with them.
  3. Not sure where to get the taller front sight. What I can do is tweak the extractor a bit, and get some 115 bullets to load for it. I just assumed a 9nm would be regulated for 124 grain loads, and that a 4 digit 1911 wouldn't need tweaking. It's for target fun only. I'd never carry it for self defense.
  4. I'd begin my conversation by asking everyone in the room the purpose of our country's military. I assume the common answer would be to protect our country. If that is indeed the case, I'd suggest that if one has no problem protecting one's country via force if necessary, then I wouldn't expect him to have a problem doing the same for himself or his family.
  5. Four if you count.........ummm nevermind.
  6. Yes sir. There's a lot of good information there that should not be overlooked.
  7. An eye for an eye, a tooth for a tooth?
  8. Funny how times change. 25-30 years ago, you couldn't hardly give away a revolver or lever rifle. Today, you can just about name your price on them.
  9. I'm betting there'd be some recoil there.
  10. You'd be money ahead in the long run to save up and buy a real M1 carbine.
  11. As usual, I'm a little late to the party.
  12. It just strikes me as funny. Rubber grips and engraving. My son has a SP101, and it is a solid gun. I like it. It just isn't something I would have pictured engraving on.
  13. Engraving a Ruger is like painting flames on a Ford Escort.
  14. Some dumbazz always seems to be there handy to ruin it for everyone.
  15. I think fear of the unknown kept most away.
  16. How have I not heard of this before, and why the hell don't I own one??!!???!!?!?
  17. For us dumb#####, please explain what it is.
  18. Good point. I thought it was American made. I need to look further to know for sure, however.
  19. I guess it's too much to expect a gun in this price range to function reliably and hit where you point it. This is yet another example of why I don't feel as strongly about "buy American" as many others do.
  20. Let us know how that turns out please.
  21. I liked this one better before I shot it. The sights seem to be regulated for 115 grain bullets. I thought 124 grain loads should be the standard. Several times, the extractor left an empty shell in the chamber. I guess I should stick to what I know; old, quality firearms. I now have several 1911s, and my Rock Island 4" is still my favorite.
  22. Election day should be next Monday.
