DOJ rules that bump stocks ARE machineguns
gregintenn replied to Chucktshoes's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
On that we can agree, Erik. I do not like the Republican party. Today, however, they are preferable to the Democrat party. That's as far as my loyalty goes with them. -

I got it! I'm not happy about it. Not sure what to do about it. -
She does know a guy.

Yeah....it's a damned shame Hillary isn't President now. Sadly, we had few options. Thanks for rubbing everyone's nose in it. It appears they've jumped the gun just a bit, but I doubt it matters. -

You haven't watched the WHOLE series....season two is now on Netflix. -
Welcome to TGO.

Red flag laws claim their first victim

Again I'll ask; would you be happy to stand idly by and watch police throw your possessions into the back of a truck when you've done nothing wrong? I do value your perspective because it is much different than mine. You have a much higher opinion of our legal system than I do. I wish I could share that. I really do. There is a documentary on Netflix called "Making a Murderer". It is a very eye opening look into our legal system. Not just police, but the entire system. Scary stuff. I'd urge everyone to see it. -

Due process? Pretend what happened to this guy happened to you because a pizzas off neighbor called in on you. We need some system to deal with the mentally ill. There aren't any easy answers. -
Red flag laws claim their first victim

It was my understanding that no charges were filed, and the police were not there to arrest him; just confiscate his firearms. I saw no evidence that he was even accused of breaking any laws. I consider this armed robbery. -

I don't believe so. I don't think it'll pass the supreme court with today's membership. -

How do you feel about the law it's self? -

He was acting sort of odd yesterday and stayed out in the rain most of the day. Last night, he came in and laid his head in my wife's lap for a while. Then he went back out and we haven't seen him since. I guess he knew it was time and went off and died. This is one dog we will sorely miss.

Late model vehicles, for the most part, are impressively reliable and don't require much work assuming one properly maintains and takes care of them. I don't own a vehicle with less than 100k miles, and so far all of them seem to be pretty much trouble free.

2018 Muzzleloader Season is upon us!!!
gregintenn replied to gregintenn's topic in Hunting and Fishing
I've noticed a high percentage of deer I've taken with a muzzleloader didn't act at all like they were hit. They often just mosey off a little way, lay down, and die. -
...I would like to extend my humble and sincere gratitude for your honorable service to our great country. Thank you so much for your sacrifice, and may God bless you and your family.

The song is longer than it took for the ship to sink. I still like it.

I get more meat from a commercial processor than I produce butchering a deer myself. My final product is also superior to the butcher's. Perhaps I dispose of too much waste, but what I'm left with sure is good eating. Th dogs also get several meals from my scrap, so all is not lost.

2018 Muzzleloader Season is upon us!!!
gregintenn replied to gregintenn's topic in Hunting and Fishing
I saw at least 30 deer this morning while in the stand. 5 were bucks, but no trophies. They were running the does like crazy. One young 8 pointer chased a doe all over the hill behind me for at least an hour. Not sure if he ever caught her, but I expect he will. -

BLACK POWDER HOME STORAGE LAW
gregintenn replied to Newbee23's topic in Curio, Relics and Black Powder
Welcome to the forum. Legally, a blackpowder revolver is not a firearm, and can be purchased without a background check; even mailed directly to your door. Some localities have ordinances regarding the storage of large amounts of black powder; more than the average enthusiast would likely have at home. If you are interested in black powder reproductions, Dixie Gun Works is a must visit, and not too long a drive from Clarksville. Be sure to learn about cleaning these arms before shooting, as rust is their greatest enemy. The caps and black powder are quite corrosive. -
You make money from selling these, right? I have no problem with that as long as you represent them honestly. As with all insurance, when the seller makes money, the buyer, on average, loses that money. Stuff like this and car payments is what keeps broke people broke in perpetuity. It is a side effect of buying stuff one can't afford.

I got up this morning, heard the wind blowing, and went right back to bed. Maybe it'll be calmer tomorrow. -
Put the money in a savings account, maintain and drive the truck well, and pay for repairs yourself (there probably won't be many if any). I replaced a transfer case, front differential, and heads on an 02 Silverado and didn't spend that much money! Extended warranties are designed to take advantage of folks who aren't good at managing money.

No, you are correct. Guns=bad. Military=bad. Middle aged white guy=bad. This is the media's checklist. This guy hit the trifecta.
