A big win for Defense Distributed!

That's how John Browning did it. -
Looks good to me! I hope you let it dry good before leaning against that shiny Chevy grille.

I asked him that. He didn't seem to think the game warden would realize how it worked unless he explained it to him. With the insert in place, it cannot be loaded from the breech end. I believe that is the legal definition of a muzzleloader according to the TWRA. Sorry for hijacking this thread, Sidewinder!

I've never seen a Number 1 Ruger made into a muzzleloader. That would be pretty neat. I now remember what he did with the other barrel.....Smokeless muzzlerloader on a 700 Remington action.

That's cool. My father has made a barrel for his Encore with a brass insert to hold a shotgun primer. It is a 45 cal muzzleloader. The brass insert can be removed, and it is then chambered for a 45-70. He'd purchased two of these barrel blanks with the idea of building a double rifle. He has since abandoned that idea for whatever reason. I'll be interested to see what he does with the other barrel blank.

Thanks for the clarification, Mac. The appeal of the handi rifles was that they were about the cheapest way to get into a center fire rifle. Now that they've been discontinued, the prices have climbed to the point that that really isn't the case anymore. I have an h&r topper (same thing) that came with a 30-30 barrel as well as a 20 gauge shotgun barrel. It is short and light, but the rifle barrel will shoot sub moa groups consistently in spite of it's mediocre trigger. It was my first gun and has accounted for a LOT of game. I still have it, complete with box and papers. I once bought a heavy barreled handi rifle in 22-250 and never could get it to shoot that well. It ain't here anymore.

They are neat little rifles, but if you are accustomed to a Contender, you will likely not be pleased with the trigger. I thought you had to have barrels fitted for the Handi Rifles, but I could be wrong.

Nearly 60 guns stolen in vehicle burglaries so far this year

I guess I'm not as good a Christian as I should be. I'd have a hard time forgiving someone packing off things I worked hard to purchase without my permission. You are correct, however. -

Not necessarily. Many murderers today are more or less made into instant celebrities. If a person murdered another today, and they had a trial tomorrow, found the murderer guilty, drug him out in the street and hanged him immediately, you'd see murders decrease in short order. If a kid had a mother and father who loved and cared for them, taught them right from wrong, disciplined them, taught them a good work ethic, and took them to church, you'd see much less crime. -

An eye for an eye, a tooth for a tooth. Where have you heard that before? -

What we are currently doing isn't working. What do you propose? I propose we reintroduce God into our country as the founders intended. There is much resistance to this. The only other option I can come up with is to make the punishment to a crime such as theft so severe that most everyone wouldn't dare commit it. -

I'm not a fan of thieves. A good idea is a good idea no matter of whose it was. -

I like Turkey's practice of cutting off the hand of a convicted thief. This cuts way down on repeat offenders as well as being a strong deterrent against potential offenders. -
Anybody on here make leather holsters?
gregintenn replied to jeff43's topic in Firearms Gear and Accessories
Haven't made one in a while. It's been hard to find the spare time. I like to leave the end open so dirt, water, etc. has a place to escape, but have made several with closed ends, and the buyers seemed happy with them. There are several makers here who are far more talented than I. -

I sold him a rifle once. Seemed like a nice guy. As I remember, he did some preaching too.

Thanks for responding. I see it as a first amendment issue and not a second amendment issue. This company definitely is within their rights to publish and sell the programming for the 3D printers. -

Other than the continuous Trump sucks doctrine you spew, where do you stand on this, Erik? -
Same thing as the hunting shows on t.v.. Making money is the objective.

I agree. Two very nice matching helmets came with it. Pants, boots gloves, and a riding jacket are to follow.

Since he's gone to the Atlanta Braves game in my car today, I see it as only fair that I do a bit of "road testing" on his bike while he's gone. You know, just to be sure it'll be safe for him. So far, so good on the "testing". I really, REALLY miss riding a bike.

https://www.lowes.com/pd/Masterbuilt-MES-130B-Digital-Electric-Smoker/1000386183 I'm pretty sure this is the one I have. This is my first rodeo with smoking meat, so I know nothing about it, but this one seems simple and straightforward. I'm guessing most models would provide at least the same service. All they need it heat, a place for the wood chips, water pan, and a rack to put meat on.
