  1. I bought a Yugo Mauser a few years back locally for $100. ''Tis a nice rifle and shoots well. I sort of hate to butcher is since it's all there, but it may become a 22-250 one day.
  2. Also, it shoots 38 Long Colt ammunition, not to be confused with 38 Special. Does it look to be all there
  3. My mother has had one for several years now. It has been 100% trouble free; just as one would expect from a Honda product. What's better? Perhaps a Pilot if you need more room than a CRV has. If it has a Honda emblem on it, you will not find anything more reliable.
  4. Surely somebody bagged a good buck this morning?
  5. I just read a book called "Love Does", written by Bob Goff. It has a religious aspect to it, but is in no way preachy. I learned a lot from the book. I would highly recommend it to anyone. He believes that God is love, and to be more God like, we should exude God's love to one another. I am not a people person, and have a hard time doing this at times, but will work on it.
  6. My sister and her husband have an original Coronet with a 426 hemi and 4 speed. She also has a new Challenger Scat Pack. There's no disputing which one is faster. On the flip side, she's had this car for less than a year, and I know it'd been back to the dealership for repairs 3 times, and I wouldn't doubt more. My wife bought a new Honda in 2011. It has 112k miles on it, and has never needed any repair whatsoever.
  7. Pakistan used to be the mark of the worst knives ever, but China seems to hold that distinction today. I guess we have trade sanctions with Pakistan now?
  8. I’m sitting in Orange Beach trying to think of a way I could go help. I understand they want everyone to stay away from there at this point. I guess that’s thes best way to help right now.
  9. I’m game. Show us some of this evident evidence.
  10. $550 for new carbs. I've been molested. Just a warning to others. Ahhh the things we will do to help our kids.
  11. They rebuilt the carbs. Went up on the price twice after the first estimate. Ended up charging me over $1000.
  12. No worries. You only cheated yourself; not us. Sounds like you made some other guy happy, however. If you were in the same time zone as me, I'd gladly let you come over and shoot one...or several.
  13. Yeah. That's the one Amazon wants so much money for now.
  14. I lack the sunny disposition.
  15. You just now reaching that conclusion, Mac? It does seem that terrible stuff is happening with ever greater frequency.
  16. Well, that 10 days turned to just over a month, and they took advantage of me worse than the Democrats diddled Blasey-Ford, but at least it appears they did get it running right. This was something I never would have been able to accomplish. Thanks for the help guys.
  17. We'd love to see them! If you click the top link above, you'll find that Amazon has a book to tell you about them for only $1125.......plus shipping. The bottom link is seriously a great book about them.
  18. I've been searching for a copy of Elmer Keith's "Safari" for years. I finally bought one last week. I still paid through the nose for it, but it was a fraction of the going prices. I've never had much luck in used book stores, but have bought many on a number of gun forums, amazon, and eBay.
  19. I think I'll put my copy in the safe when I get home.
  20. Look at the prices of the first book. It's more of a pamphlet really.
  21. https://www.amazon.com/gp/offer-listing/B000UTHTQY/ref=tmm_other_meta_binding_used_olp_sr?ie=UTF8&condition=used&qid=&sr= Turns out I'm not the only one who likes them. Seriously, I'd recommend this book for anyone who's a fan or would like to learn more about these fascinating rifles. https://www.amazon.com/Collectors-Guide-Savage-Rifle-Predecessors/dp/0764350269/ref=sr_1_1?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1538509878&sr=1-1&keywords=David+Royal
  22. This thread is so full of win!!!
  23. I've noticed older quality collector guns such as Colts, Smith and Wessons, 99 Savages, Winchesters, Marlins, etc. haven't taken a hit.
  24. I was broke then, so it really didn't matter.
  25. H&R model 058 Topper with a 20 gauge modified barrel and a 30-30 Winchester barrel. I still have it, along with the box and papers. It's killed a LOT of game over the years. My father is a thrifty fella, and paid $100 out the door for it at our local Ace Hardware. Unless it's burned or stolen, my kids can fight over it one day.
