That's what I was thinking as well. 30 years or so ago when I played a lot, I had a Peavey Stereo Chorus, which was a pretty nice amp then. It doesn't work so well now. I went last night to look at amps. I was going to buy two; a cheap practice amp he could take with him to college, and a nicer one for home. The Fender Champion 20 I decided to get for him impressed me enough that I just bought two of them. It is much better than the old Peavey was when it worked as it should, and was less than $90 new! If we get serious about it, I can always get a nicer amp, but I've been out of it so long I didn't know much about them, and the little Fender entertains me well so far. They've come a long way in amplifiers it seems. I bought his Stratocaster on ebay. I'm sure excited for it to get here so I can try it out before wrapping it for Christmas! My younger son got a Taylor Big Baby for his birthday in September, and he seems to be learning quickly. This made his older brother want to learn as well. In turn, I'm starting to get back into it as well. Fun stuff.

Anybody shoot their older rifles much?

Lack of free time seems to be my enemy at the current time. I have the guns, ammo, and shooting range, but have not made it a priority for a while. -
I went with the American. Thanks everybody!

He's new. I don't think they still make a Jap Strat.

I have a pimpin' 642 Smith and Wesson I did that way as well. It just takes time and patience.

Would you rather receive for Christmas a new Mexican Standard Stratocaster, or a gently used 2012 American Standard Stratocaster? These options are roughly the same price, and one of them will be my a Christmas present for my older son. I think I know the answer, but would like a bit of reassurance.

Not my best effort, but I haven't had time to hunt much this year. I finally got to go, and have time to make some jerky and summer sausage. This is the only deer I saw this morning. Would have preferred to got a doe, but you take what you can get sometimes. Let's see some more deer pics. I know you guys have bagged some.

Ownership would be mighty difficult to prove in court, and I can't imagine a scenerio where anyone would pursue it.

You just never know, Driver killed by droped concrete

You're a good and thoughtful man, Doug. Ol" Alex Trebek was trying to rip you off. If no one depends on your income, life insurance is really a product you don't need. If someone does depend on your income, you should have at least 10 times your annual income in term life insurance. The length of term life you'll need depends on how many years these folks will be dependent on that income were you to die. It is very inexpensive. More so the younger and healthier you are when you purchase it. In short, if you died today, how are the wife and kids gonna eat? If you can't readily answer that, buy some now. -

They need to find who did this and publicly air his execution. Better deterrent than a fence. -

DOJ rules that bump stocks ARE machineguns

I'll go a bit further. I'll take a Joe Manchin over a Jeff Flake or John McCain any day. The problem is that there is only one Joe Manchin left. He's a crook, but still a better guy than the rest of the democrats and several republicans. -

On that we can agree, Erik. I do not like the Republican party. Today, however, they are preferable to the Democrat party. That's as far as my loyalty goes with them. -

I got it! I'm not happy about it. Not sure what to do about it.
