  1. Hold on! What goes up must come down.
  2. It has been a banner year for those of us who invest in the stock market.
  3. Keep it to yourself, guys! If you don’t, everybody will be wanting to move out here.
  4. Good advice. I am no stranger to Millsurps or corrosive ammo, but still appreciate this. I will shoot handloads, and if I decide to shoot it much, may buy a can of PPU ammo designated for the Garand.
  5. I have found that to be the case with classic pocket knives and pocket watches. I expect interest in classic firearms to dwindle as well.
  6. I would recommend a regular LCP. Shoot it enough to learn the trigger, and you’ll find the reports of them not being accurate are false. Mine has little finish left, and a lot of rounds down the bore. It is as accurate as I am capable.
  7. The last pistol I bought was an LCP for my son’s 21st birthday. The last one I bought for me was a CZ75. That’s full size I suppose.
  8. After some googleing, I found there were a batch of barrels in this time frame that were initially rejected due to finish issues. They were reportedly set aside, and then later used to complete later HRA rifles. It may well be “right” yet. Either way, I’m still pleased with it.
  9. I do, and it appears I have all the necessary ingredients at my loading bench. This includes brass, primers, 155 and 168 grain FMJ projectiles, and a still sealed pound of 4895.
  10. You didn't ask me, but that is my round of choice for carry ammo.
  11. This thread title reminded me of when my wife was giving birth to one of our children. The DR asked if I’d like to cut the cord. I replied “What the hell am I paying you for?” Truth is I was scared I’d screw it up.
  12. I would not. Castrating gnats would be less tedious. I buy them and do not shoot much 25acp.
  13. Dude said it was correct. I bought it to not be correct. If it shoots as well as it looks, I’ll be happy.
  14. I do not know and did not know about the ammo. How do you tell if the operating rod has been cut? What we f it has?
  15. My barrel is stamped HRA 11-51.
  16. If you have a suitable handload for this old warhorse, I'd like to hear that as well.
  17. I went to the Sparta gun show today, not expect to buy anything, but scratched an itch I've had for decades. I've never owned a Garand, but always wanted one. I've yet to find one at an acceptable price. Today, lady luck shined down on me. I picked up this nearly mint example for $950. I do not know much about the Garand but this was cheaper than an rough example I've seen in years, and appears nearly mint! I expect it has been refurbished, as there are no cartouches on the stock. I do not know what else to look for, but the receiver and bolt are correctly marked. The seller claimed it was correct, but stated the date of manufacture as 1951. I believe it is later, however, with the 555.... serial number. I'd love to hear your opinions, suggestions, etc. on this rifle. If I got burned, that's o.k. too. I've always wanted a Garand, and now I have one. http://
  18. Never owned a faw-tee. They do seem to offer favorable prices compared to their 45 and 9mm stable mates. As for the 380 ammo, it isn’t like it is an obscure round. There are millions of pocket rockets chambered for it sold yearly. Does nobody who buys them ever shoot them? I am set up to reload them, but that is a pain as well since the cartridge is so small.
  19. There is no reason I can see why 380 ammo is roughly twice the price of 9mm. That is all.
  20. How cheap do they get? $189.99 at Academy doesn't sound unreasonable.
  21. It is simply beautiful.
  22. The Pittsburg brand torque wrenches at Harbor Freight work fine for my use.
  23. Wow! That will be a life changing event. Best of luck with it.
  24. After 9'11, why in hell are we training Saudis to fly airplanes??!!??
