Officer entering wrong apartment, killing occupant
gregintenn replied to owejia's topic in General Chat
Wouldn’t pulling one’s weapon, aiming, and firing at another show intent? It clearly does to me. She certainly intended to kill the man. I can’t help but wonder how it would have turned out if he’d shot and killed her first. I’d call it self defense, but that would have been a hard hill to climb since she wore the badge. -
Gov. Bill Lee to proclaim Oct. 10 day of prayer & fasting

That’s what I like about you. You challenge my thinking. If one’s ideas are never challenged, he won’t ever learn much. Thanks. -
I don’t know if you guys have them, but they are approaching biblical plague status here. Any tips on repelling them would be greatly appreciated. I am prepared to purchase nuclear weapons on the black market if that’s what it takes.

Gov. Bill Lee to proclaim Oct. 10 day of prayer & fasting

Thanks for the education. I was unaware of this case. On it’s face, I believe it was a bad decision however. -
$300 was much more difficult to come by, at least for me, in the 90's than it is today.

Gov. Bill Lee to proclaim Oct. 10 day of prayer & fasting

Serious question. What are you referring to happening in 1947? I understand the U.S. Constitution limits the authority of the federal government. Perhaps I am about to learn something. -
I am a traditionalist, so the Henry rifles do not blow my skirt up. If you like them, however, they seem to be a well made gun. I would look for an older Marlin 94 or a 92 Winchester or copy thereof. I have a Rossi Puma in 357 (it is a 92 Win copy), and it sure is a blast to shoot.

Gov. Bill Lee to proclaim Oct. 10 day of prayer & fasting

I would say that while the first amendment of the U.S. Constitution prevents the U.S.A. from enacting a state sponsored religion, It has no bearing whatsoever on Tennessee. I expect you know this, but a good percentage do not. I do, however, understand your concern. I firmly believe that if we as a nation do not turn back toward God, we will soon become another third world country. I do not think a proclaimed "day of prayer and fasting" will cure our societal ills, but it could be a small step in the right direction. I condone the Governor's show of concern on the matter. -
No need here. , but generally, you are correct.

Oh, it’ll work out. I deal with contractors all day every day. He won’t likely come up with any tricks I haven’t seen before. I was raised to treat your neighbor with honesty and respect. I guess it’s too much to expect the same from others.
-
You are a wise man indeed, my friend. I sometimes forget this, and it usually bites me in the caboose. Another wise adage: No good deed goes unpunished.

Word of mouth only. I don’t care about selling it, but it adjoins him, so I’m cool with it if he wants it. What is standard isn’t relevant in my mind, since we both agreed on the terms. I’d probably pay half, but I don’t like someone crawfishing on me. I figure he’ll be back in a few days. I will stand by my word as always. A cursory google search says the closing costs are usually the buyer’s responsibility. I’ve always had to pay them when I bought property. Not that I trust him any longer, but he said he got a copy of my deed today and took it to the lawyer’s office. If so, he’ll still have a bill. LOL!
-
Good to hear. God answers prayers continuously. Prayers continuing.
-
How’s that? I guess you know what you’re talking about. He went today and discovered how much the costs are and wanted me to pay half. That was NOT what we agreed to. I told him I’d pay 2019 taxes, and he’d cover any other costs incurred. He agreed. Now he doesn’t. I have a difficult time loving my neighbor as the good book commands.
-
Small town here. We'd be using the same one. I'll just let him pay the bill.
-
It will be on this one. We nave a local lawyer who does this stuff. I've known all these people my entire life. I do not expect any trouble.
-
Thanks. I figured as much, but have never sold property and have only bought at auctions.
-
Yes and yes. A farm was subdivided three years ago. I bought two lots at auction, and the neighbor bought some other lots. All of this connected to his property. He recently decided he would like to buy my lots, and we agreed on terms and a price. I just didn’t know how to finalize the deal. The land was surveyed before it was auctioned and the pins are still in place. No liens involved. Just a straightforward sale. Thank you for the information.

I would like to sell a neighbor a piece of property I own. How is this correctly done? Does it require a lawyer, or can we just go into the register of deeds office and do it there?
-
Wow! Any hints or pointers would be appreciated.
-
I know, but we have had some decent quarterbacks.

I see your Dobbs and raise you a Riley Neal.

Welcome, sir.

Rimmed cartridges feed fine, as proven by the 303 Savage, 22HP, and the ever popular 30-30. Winchester did chamber the model 65 lever rifle in 218 Bee, which is more or less an improved 22 Hornet. That is as close as you’re going to get unless you have access to a machine shop.

Has anyone participated in a gun control poll recently?
gregintenn replied to Will Carry's topic in General Chat
Never once have I been invited to participate in a poll of any type.
