  1. Oh, I have a considerable stash, but still, a guy occasionally runs low of something.
  2. My recent fruitless search for a pound of IMR4895 has led me to think about the future of reloading. It seems that fewer and fewer stores carry reloading supplies, and the ones that do are poorly stocked. I can order brass and bullets on the web, but hazmat fees make powder and primers a brick and mortar proposition. I guess we reloaders are a dying breed.
  3. A small ceramic heater will keep it comfortable in there without insulating.
  4. Actually, you do know. Bad things are going to happen to someone somewhere. This should serve as a reminder to us all to stay alert and prepared.
  5. I reloaded for several years in an 8x12 portable barn when we first married. It wasn’t heated nor cooled, and I left all my components in there. Never hurt a thing.
  6. The M1 carbines I have sure enough create a smile on anyone's face I've ever let shoot it.
  7. Thanks for all the help, guys! I picked up some clips and a sling. Then I loaded some ammo. Today, my father (an Air Force vet), my sons and I all did something we never did before; fire a Garand. It shoots great and we had a great time. It does not recoil near as much as I expected. It is for sure a keeper.
  8. I buy mutual funds, mostly index funds.
  9. I’ll leave the short business to you “savvy” folk.
  10. Hold on! What goes up must come down.
  11. It has been a banner year for those of us who invest in the stock market.
  12. Keep it to yourself, guys! If you don’t, everybody will be wanting to move out here.
  13. Good advice. I am no stranger to Millsurps or corrosive ammo, but still appreciate this. I will shoot handloads, and if I decide to shoot it much, may buy a can of PPU ammo designated for the Garand.
  14. I have found that to be the case with classic pocket knives and pocket watches. I expect interest in classic firearms to dwindle as well.
  15. I would recommend a regular LCP. Shoot it enough to learn the trigger, and you’ll find the reports of them not being accurate are false. Mine has little finish left, and a lot of rounds down the bore. It is as accurate as I am capable.
  16. The last pistol I bought was an LCP for my son’s 21st birthday. The last one I bought for me was a CZ75. That’s full size I suppose.
  17. After some googleing, I found there were a batch of barrels in this time frame that were initially rejected due to finish issues. They were reportedly set aside, and then later used to complete later HRA rifles. It may well be “right” yet. Either way, I’m still pleased with it.
  18. I do, and it appears I have all the necessary ingredients at my loading bench. This includes brass, primers, 155 and 168 grain FMJ projectiles, and a still sealed pound of 4895.
  19. You didn't ask me, but that is my round of choice for carry ammo.
  20. This thread title reminded me of when my wife was giving birth to one of our children. The DR asked if I’d like to cut the cord. I replied “What the hell am I paying you for?” Truth is I was scared I’d screw it up.
  21. I would not. Castrating gnats would be less tedious. I buy them and do not shoot much 25acp.
  22. Dude said it was correct. I bought it to not be correct. If it shoots as well as it looks, I’ll be happy.
  23. I do not know and did not know about the ammo. How do you tell if the operating rod has been cut? What we f it has?
  24. My barrel is stamped HRA 11-51.
