  1. I’ve never seen a grouse in Tennessee. Kudos to you guys!
  2. Ladies and gentleman, we have a winner!!!!!
  3. I have killed a snipe, and I suppose it is the most rarely seen local game animal here. You don’t see many gray foxes anymore either.
  4. Yeah. Both of the guys have done work for me in the past and are reputable men. They have both been in the business longer than I’ve been alive. The high bidder spends a lot on trucks, advertising, and other assorted overhead that lower bidder does not. They were more competitive when his father ran the business.
  5. Guy #2 is $2000 cheaper. That’s more like it.
  6. My beans are starting to peek through, but the corn hasn't sprouted yet.
  7. Welcome to tgo. I believe you are required to pay a nominal membership fee in order to be able to list items in the classified section.
  8. The house/roof is 17 years old. It is 2000sf, 7/1 pitch, 2 small doghouses and two larger ones. No idea of the SF of the actual roof. We intend to be here until the end. I also have an 8x12 tool shed that needs roofing as well. The quote was $9890 for a tear off/reroof. This includes new felt paper, vents, etc. with whatever a GAF "lifetime" roofing system is. $7605 to roof over what is there. Guy 2 still hasn't showed up to give an estimate.
  9. Shingles.
  10. It would likely be cheaper in the long run to hire a roofer.
  11. I got a quote today. WOW! I'm getting another quote tomorrow. I may have to take a few days off and put my two "quarantined" sons to work. I'm guessing roofing is expensive everywhere? Is it worthwhile to remove one layer of shingles, or just as good to put a second layer over them?
  12. I have one just like it. They are great little rifles.
  13. A bear dog and s one to take care of!
  14. I don't recall ever having a dog that didn't get sprayed by a skunk. Rarely, however, did one get sprayed twice.
  15. I do not envy your situation. How I'd handle it would probably not be good advice to share.
  16. The first guy you’ll want to talk to is probably the sheriff.
  17. There should also be metal pins in the ground. You can probably take a tape measure and metal detector with your plat and find them.
  18. You need a licensed surveyor. Usually, property is staked before a sale, but I don’t guess it has to be. You also may need an attorney. A bad neighbor can be nearly as miserable as a bad wife.
  19. Or a gunsmithimg screwdriver that actually fits the slot. Sometimes good tools can actually save you money.
  20. Are you needing just the border pins located, or are you needing an actual licensed survey?
  21. Rock Island can make them work right out of the box. People say to “buy American”, but sometimes I don’t see the advantage.
  22. I dunno, but always enjoyed his posts. I hope he’s o.k.
  23. It never frosts in May! Global warming my ###!
  24. We use crushed walnut hulls, Bullseye powder, and cut wads out of basket paper. Powder, wad, walnut shells, wad, then crimp. The boys have a ball shooting carpenter bees out in the equipment shed. Wish I’d have thought of it when you were here. I’d have taken you on a guided hunt.
