That's the thing....to my knowledge, there is nothing whatsoever special about that rifle. it is a run of the mill 94 carbine made in the late 50's. There are scads of them out there.

There is a gentleman on the smith-wesson forum by the screen name of executioner who makes some beautiful elk stag grips at very reasonable prices. Several in my collection proudly wear them.

It appears at least one of the bidders has sobered up for now. There's still plenty of time left, however.

If it is an 8mm, a .308 bullet should freely drop through the bore. 30-06 and 7x57 have nearly the same rim diameter. I would think that if an extractor would pick up a 7x57, it should also grab an '06. I fancy myself a hearty soul, but that thing looks a might scary to me.
