Deer were really active this morning. I still haven’t seen a really good buck though....unless you count the one I ran over this morning on the way to hunt. He was a nice one.

From the reports I’ve seen, they didn’t.

My kid sold a Knight to buy a Wolf. Lighter and easier cleaning.

I’m not a fan of crowds. I hear it’s crowded.

There’s a lot in DC I’d love to see, but don’t like lab on ever going there.

I almost bought one once. Then I read about all the reliability problems, so I left it alone. They were a great idea. It just doesn't sound like the execution went well.

They produced some 22lr versions of Lugers. The gun posted above is a variation of that. I have never seen one in person in that configuration however. You'd think that one would have been produced with a shoulder stock.

I went through Bristol las year. I’ve made several trips to North Carolina, but holy crap! I didn’t realize there was so much Northern Tennessee east of Knoxville! It seemed like that stretch of interstate was longer than driving all the way through Virginia.

I’m happy knowing I can load 38 Specials with crushed walnut hills for our next carpenter bee safari out in the barn.

Theoretically, you can save money reloading, but in reality, has anybody ever actually done it?

You don't reload to save money. You reload so you can shoot more. Sadly, reloading components pricing and availability usually follows pricing and availability of loaded ammunition.

It's a rare guy that everyone likes. Alex somehow pulled it off. I'm not aware of anyone who didn't like him.

That show is gonna be weird. I’ve been a Jeopardy fan for ever. I really liked Trebek’s dry sense of humor.

Depends on what you are after. I wouldn’t call it a mistake, but personally, I would have no hesitation whatsoever shooting him. It looks to me like the racks are much more impressive than the deer carrying them. I’d bet those aren’t very old.

The really cool thing about a lever rifle is that they are flat. There are no protrusions to bump against things. They slide out of a scabbard nicely. They carry well in the hand.

Missed a decent buck right at daylight. Saw 3 bucks, a doe with last year’s fawn, and a coyote. It was slow. I’m guessing because the moon was bright last night combined with this beach weather we’re having. Got back home and shot a target. Dead on. I guess I’m like Toby Keith...”not as good as I once was”.
