  1. Ouch! It seems Ayn Rand’ “Atlas Shrugged” is coming to fruition.
  2. For sure. I've never shot a Savage that wasn't very accurate. That looks great!
  3. Most certainly it is with me. I’ve been shooting a bit lately, and it’s coming back nicely. I should shoot more often.
  4. If you get on it, you could have that finished by my birthday! That's gonna make a fine deer rifle.
  5. I know nothing about wood carving knives, but can tell you Mora makes great general purpose knives at great prices. I'd be surprised to find their carving knives are any different.
  6. LOL! I have a kid in Panama City right now, and I'd bet what's in my wallet they don't have a quarter tank of gas in the car. They are big and strong and several of them, so pushing it back to Tennessee might be a good life lesson.
  7. I like to keep a good supply of loaded ammo handy, but also like to keep a good supply of assorted reloading supplies handy as well. I like to try new loads. Also, sure as I loaded thousands of rounds of something, there'd be something I decided I didn't like about that particular load.
  8. It seems to work well in other forums I frequent.
  9. He’s got a job with a local contractor.
  10. Do ya feel lucky?
  11. Interesting. I didn't figure there'd ever be any more. I have a Winchester and an Inland. Everyone who I ever saw shoot one was smiling. They are a hoot!
  12. Thanks guys! Other than my wife, he’s the first person in my family to ever see the inside of a college, so it’s a pretty big deal to me.
  13. Yep... plus geometry. A shorter sight radius and less stability really shows any flaw in one’s form. I want to pick one up and shoot like Jerry Miculek, but it just ain’t gonna happen.
  14. Most folks don’t value your time the same as they value their own. If it happened here, by all means, leave a negative feedback. I find the feedback system here very useful for evaluating whether I want to deal with a particular person or not. It takes a while to amass a good reputation and only a moment to destroy one. Just be factual and accurate. Do not let emotion help write the feedback.
  15. Oddly, I cannot follow the front sight on a big bore revolver. Hard as I try, it just disappears for a split second when then gun fires. You were correct. I wasn't correctly following through. I'm hitting the center now. I just need to figure out a way to program this into my brain long term. I'm sure that means a lot of shooting. Thanks to everybody for the help.
  16. I now officially have a kid smarter than me! He graduated this afternoon with a BA in engineering from TTU.
  17. Nope. I was a boy scout. “Be Prepared” has always been my motto.
  18. We’re going to make a conservative out of you yet!
  19. Same reason 380 is half again more expensive than 9mm?
  20. What’s wrong with a Fram filter? I’ve used a bunch of them through the years. Never had an engine problem due to oil or filter.
  21. I’d think the barrel would be the better target so to speak. I’ve always loved to see the imaginative work arounds invented because of various ATF decrees. I expect whatever happens here will see some good ones.
  22. Anybody got one of these Rugers yet? Looks like they are out of stock everywhere. Surprise surprise!
