  1. Now I see they have discontinued IMR 4320. Why can’t everybody just leave stuff alone?
  2. LOL! I’m a little slow to warm up to something new. I still like my old school stuff.
  3. Honestly, every AR I’ve put together, or bought complete shoots like that. I tried real hard not to like them, but you just can’t argue with what they’ll do.
  4. Cool! I’ll see if I can find those.
  5. Anybody know what the round hole in the bottom front of the stock is for? The one in front of the adjustment trigger. Is it some way to mount a sling?
  6. I’d hate to sew a holster for that!
  7. I've had an extra Anderson Lower receiver and PSA lower Parts Kit, as well as a generic carry handle laying around here for quite some time. I decided I'd order one of these upper receivers from PSA. Bargain Basement Upper It showed up today, not quite a week after I ordered it, so I ran a patch through the bore, sprayed the BCG with oil, and gave it a go. I fired a couple of shots from about 20 yards offhand to verify where my sight were. That checked out ok, so I moved to the 100 yard bench. The only frill on this carbine is the ambi safety, as I an southpaw challenged. Here are the first 3 shots from the 100 yard bench. 2 clicks left, 1 click up, and I should be good to go. Ammo consisted of various range brass, bulk 55 grain 223 fmj projectiles, CCI small rifle primers, and a max charge of IMR 4320. This is a sample size of one, but based on my experience, I would recommend this particular upper. I haven't found the blemish.
  8. I haven't been yet, but this weather sure has me thinking about it.
  9. I had a Heritage revolver, but sold it to a guy at work who wanted something cheap to keep in a tractor. It was cheaply made, but shot well, had a good trigger, and was accurate and shot to the point of aim. I guess that’s about all you could hope for in a $100 revolver. As far as the 22 magnum in a revolver, all I feel you are getting over the 22lr is more muzzle blast, noise, and expense. For what you’ve described, I would prefer a rifle.
  10. Most pf the time they are doing things I just took for granted everyone knows how to do. It amazes me how different one person’s background can he from another person.
  11. We're getting down to the bottom of the barrel around here too!
  12. Anybody been watching this show? Except for the occasional social justice speech thrown in, it’s pretty entertaining. It’s kind of am advertisement cor Carhart and Ford trucks, but I guess I am their target audience.
  13. I don't have a Johnson....yet. or a 1917.
  14. I was hoping this would he a good thread, and you guys sure aren’t disappointing! Keep it coming.
  15. Show me yours and tell me about it if you don’t mind. I need an education before I lay my money down.
  16. Nuttin wrong with the trigger in my 1907 or 1917. I’m still looking for the elusive 1915 hammerless.
  17. So far I have discovered that 48 grains of IMR 4895 behind a 155 grain match bullet and 45 grains of the same powder behind a 168 grain match bullet produce as small a group as I am capable of with iron sights and my aging eyes. I also discovered they both shoot to the same point of impact. Now if only those ####s would quit buying up all the powder, I’ll be in business as I have an ample supply of brass, primers, projectiles, and en bloc clips. I wish I’d have bought a Garand years ago. This thing is awesome! I need to dig out my old 1903 Springfield and see how these loads shoot in it.
  18. Go back and get them.
  19. The Second Amendment says you can. I can’t speak for the officials in Vermont.
  20. I dunno. Garron was financially secure as far as I know, but his boy took it over years ago, and I’ve no idea about him. I bet there was an offer they just couldn’t refuse. They make their own line of shotgun wads there, and better than 90% of their business was mail order. Wouldn’t be surprised if Brownelll’s saw them as either am obstacle or am opportunity. It sure seems that the outdoor industry is quickly becoming consolidated. I’m not sure that bodes well for us.
  21. Right. I didn't think it would have been for Rush Limbaugh.
  22. Freedom.
  23. LINK PLEASE!!??!!?!!
  24. That would be my guess as well. If there’s a market for it, it will be produced. I do wonder how much of this will be allowed to happen before existing companies see fit to expand, or a new company emerges.
  25. Look fer yourself! I certainly did not know this. Wow!
