Winchester makes a fmj with a wide, flat nose. I figure those would be a good compromise between penetration and leaving a significant hole.

...And kick like a rented mule.

Nothing wrong with iron sights. They are simple, tough, and the battery is never dead. Sometimes there's something to be said for tried and true.

I wouldn't mind giving one of those XDS 45s a try. You've intrigued me.

WalMart got arrows?

Fear sells. You won't find many good news articles, truth be damned. I wouldn't put much weight in that story. What's about to happen is the entire economy is about to crash. That'll make ammo available again.....if you have anything left to buy it with.

I don't have any of the others, but I've carried an LCP for more than a decade now. I shoot it often, and it's never given any problem. I consider the LCP as close to a perfect pocket pistol as is available.

So you think we’ve sufficiently covered “It’s a scam” and “Everybody’s gonna die”?

If'n you run out of room for the both of em, I could probably put one up. Very nice!

My son had Covid and said a cold was worse.

Western holster rig makers in Tennessee?
gregintenn replied to DaveTN's topic in Firearms Gear and Accessories
I think Sumner Gun Store in Portland has a leather worker. I know nothing about them, but it could be worth a visit or at least a call. 840 to 109 and head north! -
I believe that you believe this. My doubt is that it is actually factual. Just as Al Gore stood to make billions off his carbon bank scam, you’d be hard pressed to convince me that political folks like Faucci aren’t positioned to profit from this vaccine. Further, you’d find it really difficult to convince me that it was as big an issue as the government and media made it out to be. If the medical community can solve this problem in a year, I don’t understand why we still have cancer and the common cold, other than the fact treatment is more profitable than a cure or prevention. If I’ve learned one thing in this life, it is that when there’s a considerable sum of money involved, somebody’s getting shafted. I’m glad to see that everyone isn’t as cynical as me.

Especially the ones that are engineered and tested correctly.

Name some good atv trails to ride in west Tennessee
gregintenn replied to Links2k's topic in General Chat
I was going to tell you to head up to LBL. There’s a lot of cool stuff there in addition to atv trails. The only other one I’m aware of is up in East Tennessee. That would be quite a drive for you. -
I've had them and would heartily recommend the vaccine.

I’m still amazed that there were virtually no flu cases last winter.
-
The very young don’t get sick from it. Again, if you can’t contract it, I don’t see the concern.
-
If you’ve been vaccinated and can’t catch it, why would you give a crap whether other folks have been vaccinated?

My load is 5 grains of Bullseye and 230 grain ball. 7000/5=1400. Pretty cool if you’re accustomed to loading high power rifle rounds. You won’t need to trim or chamfer brass, but you will need to slightly bell the case mouth. With a carbide sizing die, you also won’t need to lube cases. You’ll want to crimp slightly. More accurately, remove the bell.

So, ya got any goats?

Hernando Desoto Bridge closed I-40 Memphis
gregintenn replied to TennesseeCamper's topic in General Chat
He'll have some supervisors sweating as well. Something like this is interesting to watch play out. Either this guy was an idiot, or he has documentation of things his supervisor has done that would get them in major trouble as well. Don't be surprised to either find he's receiving full retirement benefits or is rehired shortly. -
I was once offered a fainting goat in trade for a rifle here. True story.

Hernando Desoto Bridge closed I-40 Memphis
gregintenn replied to TennesseeCamper's topic in General Chat
I DON’T know. That’s the thing. I wouldn’t want traffic on that bridge until I did know. As far as the interstate system, it was mostly built in the 60’s and 70’s as a means for military equipment to be transported efficiently. It was an afterthought that the motoring public could actually use it too. Those bridges are ALL pushing 60 years old. We are coming to a place shortly where there will be an astronomical bill due to replace them. Anything mam makes has a limited lifespan. -

Thankfully, you won’t get a chance to. No one will open that bridge until it is absolutely safe.
