  1. I love those things!
  2. I bought this 02 here on the forum about a decade ago. It is a 4 cylinder, automatic, and has 167k on it now. I think I put an injector in it once, and squirrels have chewed the fuel lines up a couple of times. Short of that, I've changed the oil every 10k, put gas in it, and drove it. It doesn't have much power, gets only about 20mpg, and isn't overly comfortable, but it is boringly reliable, and I've yet to have it stuck. I pull a boat with it just fine. I plan to keep it til it dies, which it may well outlast me. Dad has a 98 model. The speedometer quit working, so I'm unsure of the miles, but it's over 400k. Same thing. Gas and drive. His is a v6 5 speed, and has twice the power mine does. My son had an 03 and drove it for years. Sold it to a buddy and it's still on the road. If he can't tear one up, that's saying something! I've no experience with newer models, but the older ones are amazing.
  3. A Bunn coffee maker makes a big difference too.
  4. Anchor down!!!! Diego Pavia is supermen!!!
  5. I don’t think you’ll see any noticeable difference.
  6. Looks like fun.
  7. Always liked Community, Hill Bros, or Eight o Clock medium roasts. I’ve had some exotic stuff that was great, but I’m just too tight to buy it regularly. I prefer to grind it as I use it, but the whole bean selection is getting scarce at stores locally.
  8. Right. I’m talking about the same. If electronic funds were shut down and you had no emergency cash, you couldn’t eat or buy gas or anything. I’m not talking about a long term deal, but just a random emergency. Investing involves risk. I’m good with that.
  9. .gov cannot push a button and seize all of your cash. Your electronic funds can easily be locked if you don’t cooperate.
  10. Did you turn them opposing directions? It doesn’t look like you need much to me. Post a pic and let’s see what you’ve got.
  11. Smells like an ATF fishing expedition, huh?
  12. You have 17 grandkids??!!?? Wow!
  13. Congratulations! I can’t think of a better Christmas gift.
  14. Companies usually make a yearly run of obsolete ammo such as this. You have to watch for it to show up, and be prepared to load up on it before everybody beats you to it. Actually, Natchez and Midway shows they both have some in stock, but looking at the prices, I'm sure glad I reload.
  15. I guess the impending .gov shutdown will nix this plan. Gotta love em!
  16. I'll bet firing a 3" round from that thing would be invigorating.
  17. Another option would be to locate a picatinny rail type base for it, but it will look like crap, and you'll need to be able to measure the hole pattern drilled for the bases, and also be aware there is a difference in mounts for large and small ring actions. It gets pretty iffy. Again, offset rings are the best answer. That or a longer scope.
  18. ^^^This^^^ You have a short scope and a relatively long action. Offset ring are the simplest answer.
  19. That would be a nice trip. I’d look to see what roads were still closed along the Tennessee/North Carolina border due to the flooding.
  20. Thanks, guys! We might just give it a whirl after all. Impromptu trips have left us some of the best memories.
  21. Looks like fun to me. I always heard they were good eating. I’ve never tried one.
  22. Is this worth the drive? What can you find to do and see along the way? The wife and I are looking for a wintertime trip, but I’m not finding much of interest here, although she’s mentioned it. I see the Inn/visitor center is closed from storm damage.
