I do both. I tweak rifle loads to try and get the smallest groups possible. As I am not a great pistol shot, o.k. Is good enough, so I load for volume. Mixed range brass and plated bullets are the order of the day. I’m glad reloading offers this flexibility.

I’ve found IMR3031 to be THE powder for a 257 Robert’s. I would check to see if your scope mounts and rings are tight.

Case in point. My father gave me a Mauser action rifle he built in 25-06. Factory Remington loads were all over the paper. My first attempt at a hand load now as this rifle stacking bullet after bullet into one slightly enlarging hole at 100 yards. These rounds are also about 10% the price of factory ammo…if you can find it.

They’re ALL expensive!
