  1. A professional should be here Friday to remove it. Thanks everybody!
  2. Cool. If he doesn't get out here and give an estimate in a few days, I might tackle it myself.
  3. Could well be. Last time I it up a tree with a similar vine on it, I wound up miserable, with both eyes swelled shut. Not only did the cortizone shot eventually cure it, it also cured my sciatica. That was a miserable vacation for both me and those who had to endure me. I honestly don’t know the difference and give both respect.
  4. Thanks. he actually made the grip cap; mostly with a file. Not only is he talented, he's frugal as well....and patient.
  5. You both make valid points. Thanks
  6. Please expound.
  7. Serious question. Do you donate all of your talent and labor, or do you expect to profit from some of it?
  8. With a bit of load development, I think it'll shoot. This was my first load I tried except for the factory ammo I had. It wouldn't shoot a group at all.
  9. Carbon Dioxide is NOT a pollutant. It is, for lack of a better term, plant food. Folks who operate commercial greenhouses pump it into their greenhouses to increase production. Without it, we'd have nothing to eat. Carbon and carbon dioxide are two different things.
  10. It works great. We have the best healthcare in the world. Just imagine where the rest of the world would be today, healthcare wise, were it not for the ingenuity and inventions of American healthcare. The fact Americans do not see fit to pay for these services does not negate the fact we have an amazing healthcare system.
  11. The thought did cross my mind.
  12. About 12’.
  13. Got a guy coming this evening to give an estimate. I'm not a smart man, but I see too much downside and little upside in tackling this project myself. The tree is right on the property line. I'm not going to ask my neighbor to help pay, but would it be reasonable to let him help with the cost if he offers?
  14. As I said, the pictures don't do it justice. This is a very, very large limb. Larger than the average tree. There might even be a log in it.
  15. It’s larger than it appears. A tree service might be cheaper.
  16. Any advice for the poison ivy? It almost completely covers the limb. I’m a do it myself kind of guy, but this might require a professional who isn’t allergic to that dreaded vine of misery.
  17. I know we have at least one arborist on the forum. What is the safe and effective way to put the other end of this gigantic limb on the ground? I have a pole saw and a regular chainsaw. That poison ivy presents it's own problem.
  18. Just look at it, then google a few pics of real Holland and Holland rifles.
  19. That sounds awesome!
  20. That was constructed by Bubba; not Holland and Holland.
  21. We're gonna need pictures!
  22. If you’ve never stopped and got food from a roadside Mexican taco stand, don’t cheat yourself. I doubt there’s any better food on the planet. That is all.
  23. They redecorated, but it’s still there.
  24. One of my favorites.
