Getting in to reloading. A couple of questions.
gregintenn replied to IggyBcool's topic in Ammunition and Reloading
Also know that just as it is important to not exceed published maximum loads, they also publish minimum loads for a reason. Going below these can cause serious problems as well. While the information in old manuals doesn’t really go out of date, adding an updated version occasionally is handy so you can take advantage of newer powders and projectiles. -
Baldwin shoots two on movie set, accidental misfire???

I find they run the gamut from shouldn’t have a gun to expert marksman just like the general population. -
Did you read the rest of the posts carefully? Perhaps English is a second language? I dunno. My wife recently showed me a local guy on Facebook whining because a local pawn shop sold him a motorcycle as a Harley Davidson, and he later somehow discovered it was a Suzuki. If you don’t know the difference, are you really ready to buy one?

The base looks smaller because that round is further from the camera than the other two. I’m pretty sure I can make out 223 REM on it.
-
Yeah. I assumed 223, 556, and probably some wonky foreign military headstamp.

I’ve been reloading for 40 years, and still follow published data. I rarely have a problem. I agree that several reloading manuals from different companies are good to have. -

The problem is that magnum powders are slower burning, thus harder to reliably ignite, necessitating a magnum primer. Follow reloading manual information and do not try to side step or improvise. -
Pawn shop guys aren’t always the most honest folks available. Could be this guy didn’t know what he was talking about. Could be he’s just dishonest. Could be you misunderstood. Nothing illegal here. To be honest, it’s partly on you. New Federal ammunition should be packaged in a Federal box. It’s likely decent ammo.

You got one in your avatar!
-
Yeah. There are companies that make remanufactured ammo from range brass. These will have varying headstamps. I expect that’s what you have there. If so, it should be safe to shoot. Tennessee Cartridge Company has a website.

Looks like a good buck to me!

I got a recipe!

If you have it deboned and trimmed, you’ve already won the battle and don’t need a butcher.

She got sick right after the second Rona shot. Probably both coincidences, but she’s rarely ever sick.

I’ve never seen the Titans play better.

Wife took a flu shot last week. She’s in bed sick now. I wish she’d tell those folks to “Take This Job and Shove It!”

Not a high end load, but for regular 280 whitetail loads, a 140 grain Sierra stbt atop 51 grains of IMR4350 is my go to.

News to me, but I don’t get to it much anymore.

I’m a free ball cap kind of guy, but I do admire those of you who can pull off this sophisticated look.

It wasn’t a slur. Those boys can run!!! The ones I know are good folks too.

Would the revolver qualify as a “muzzleloader” for the purpose of deer hunting? -
Again? Damn, you’re gettin’ old! Is Hartsville on fire, or is it just your birthday candles? Happy birthday.

There’s a fella almost at the end of US231 in Bransford (Sumner County) that processes deer. Do not take this as a recommendation as I do not know him and have never done business with him.

That was a nail biter!
