Norma 9mm "Range" brass issues
gregintenn replied to Jamie Jackson's topic in Ammunition and Reloading
Don’t know if this will help, but I have two different sized recapping pins for RCBS dies. I’m not sure if they are interchangeable. -
Guy I know charged with murder

It is if you beat it out of him. -
If they were going for ugly, they certainly hit the mark! I’m a big Savage fan, but their R&D department sure needs an enema.

The fella may be a saint, but driving to someone else's house and beating them to death is going to be a difficult hole to dig out of. -
I had an injector down in a truck kept in the barn. When I went to unplug the wires from the injector, the end came off in my hand. A mouse, squirrel, or some rodent had chewed it in two. As I’d already bought an injector and was already in there, I replaced it, connected the wires back together, and was good to go. Twenty something bucks for the injector that probably wasn’t necessary and two wire connectors. I wonder how bad a dealership would have gigged me.

Makes me glad I drive junkers.

Has anybody had any luck deer hunting lately?

You are better than me. I've shot 2 and butchered 4. -
So, are we cancelling Christmas this year?

I'm not sure that's luck, Omega. I've never made an entire deer into summer sausage until now. It's on the smoker. It's quite a bit of work! -
There ain’t no right color orange, but a sheepskin is a sheepskin. Looks like the young man might have had a good and proper raising. Good job, mom and dad!!!

Thanks. The deadline for applications has passed. I got to thinking about all the folks I know who have children, grandchildren, etc. that are quite familiar with law enforcement. Hearing crap from these folks just didn’t seem worthwhile the more I thought about it. Oh well, I’m still having fun riding bikes and shooting deer.

I’ve never shot a hog. That would be pretty cool. -

A bear??!!? You weren’t hunting locally I presume. I probably would have encouraged him to let this one walk, but we were wanting to make a batch of summer sausage, and this was the perfect size. It also wouldn’t hurt to cull a few does around here. -

Me and little man went out a little while ago and he shot this doe. He's hunted about 30 minutes total this year, and has scored this and an 8 pointer. He thinks there isn't much to deer hunting. -
Looks like a Glock and a Hi Point had a baby.

That’s quite an accomplishment! I’m proud for you.

So you sell this, buy the 95, and then put it up for sale. What da heck??!!??

We’ll this never happened before!

I dunno. I didn’t write it down, and don’t have the best memory. I usually write down the OAL, but failed to do so on these. -
My wife ran into this where she works.

You are correct, except I do have the exact bullet. The mystery is that I have loaded this exact bullet/case/powder combination for this rifle for years. The die adjustment was set years ago and not changed. They worked, they worked, and then one day; boom! Nothing has changed to my knowledge, and suddenly they no longer work. I understand how to fix it. What I don’t understand is what caused it. Were it a new rifle, new load, new components, or new dies, I wouldn’t give it a second thought. I was under the illusion I had better quality control than this. Make sense? -

Well, several of the rounds took quite a bit of effort to close the bolt on. Maybe I was right on the ragged edge of being too long, and found a lot to lot variation in the bullets or something. I’d say the lock ring on the seating die got moved, but these are RCBS, and the set screw was locked down tight. My wife would just say “It’s just one of those things.” I’m cursed with a curious mind and feel the need to find the source of such a problem. -

I still have no idea why this problem cropped up now, but seating the bullets a couple of thousandths deeper cured the problem. I guess I’ll never know, but now I’m good to go anyway. Thanks for all the suggestions and help! -
If you are just wanting something to play around with at home, that Positive Grid Spark is pretty amazing for the price.
