  1. I think the phrase you are looking for is, "sucks monkey butt at the local level" Honestly, the NRA could be much more successful national issues if they focused on local issues first. Local issues change mindsets which help changes national issues easier. This has been proven over and over again with other issues.
  2. I hope this guy gets stuck with a gun he really doesn't want. It's also obvious that he's never read the state constitution because it doesn't give law makers the power to restrict the selling of guns, just the bearing of arms.
  3. I had to laugh when I saw Gagle's new opinion piece this week: http://www.knoxnews.com/story/opinion/columnists/frank-cagle/2017/02/22/frank-cagle-state-legislators-guilty-spreading-fake-news/98200834/
  4. As a small business owner for over 10 years now, bingo. I would disagree with the hard work statement as I think people misunderstand that. It's not just about hard work (hours or physical labor, one or both will apply) it's about smart work and most of the time, risk. I took a great risk 10 years ago and am now seeing the benefits. People want zero risk and want to put zero smart effort into their jobs these days. The ones that do are making good money.
  5. If you pay any tax on the car in another state, it'll be discounted off what you owe in TN. Still not sure how it's not double taxation since tax has already been paid on new cars...
  6. Watch the city of knoxville put metal detectors at the TN valley fair to avoid this law if passed.
  7. This is a very good bill as it fixes many of the issues we have right now with the law. But the bill needs to be passed as written.
  8. Considering what John Harris, the founder of TFA, says and does, they are very much about full 2d Amendment rights. They are currently pushing for constitutional carry and a lawsuit against knoxville over the parks law. So yeah.
  9. So basically the person settled to have it as it was before. There never was an issue with them being banned while there were no events happening. Kinda a head scratcher settlement. Let's hope the other lawsuit actually forces the the city to obey the law.
  10. The state of Tennessee got something wrong?? *shock* Yeah, it's totally wrong and they need to be informed on it.
  11. How long as Delaware honored our permit? Of course, getting into DE is tricky because I am not sure I really trust the federal safe passage law. Also, how long have we had non resident TN permits?
  12. In theory everyone is disarmed, but we all know how not secure a place like the convention center is. Too many ways to easily get in. Plus, it's still easy enough to shoot the security at the door and walk in. Honestly, there really is no "secure" place on the planet. But the liberals don't quite understand that...
  13. If you go by the AG opinion about parks, the CC is supposed to allow carry as it is a recreational venue. But the government never lets pesky laws get in it's way.
  14. Considering that comcast launched their new tv go website this fall and it was a huge step backwards, I wouldn't plan on it anytime soon. In fact, I wouldn't be surprised if they just release a new box that returns to 4:3 standard def and they call it an upgrade!
  15. If you want a deal on a class look at groupon type sites. There is normally some place offering classes for 50% off. Honestly, if the state if going to require a permit for something that is a right, the class should be offered for free by the state (like hunter's ed.)
  16. That pretty much describes everything to do with state government...
  17. Ha, I am on 12 mbs U-Verse but am moving to a a house that offers at least 60 mbs Charter. I think for the time being I will be happy with 60mbs for $40/month. 7 MB a sec is fast when I remember dial up and T1's (1.5 mbs)
  18. So this means I should be able to drop my uninsured driver insurance, right?
  19. At some point in the last day or two (I believe) UPS left a package under this sign at my front door (on a huge pile of leaves, not even leaned up against the door!) How stupid/lazy can you get? The kicker? They had to walk further to get to this door and it's obviously not the door we use. This was after last week where they left a note that they needed a sig and would try delivering again the next day...only they didn't, they instead the next day just sent it to a UPS Store...but not the closest one to my house! Then it took them 4 more days to deliver the package 4 miles. Plus, earlier this year when I tried to reopen my UPS business account, they added daily pickup without asking. For three months I would email and call in saying that I never asked for it, so stop it and reverse the charges. It took 4 months in the end (each time they said they took care of it) to get it to stop, but I still have a $25 outstanding charge on my account that they said they would take off but never did. So at this point I will not willingly chose to use them for shipping anything if I have a choice. FedEx has always had better service for me and when they have screwed up it's been very minor and fixed quickly. So suck it UPS.
  20. Try the app. It's actually pretty good.
  21. I will say this, Sears is the ONLY company getting it right on internet orders picked up in person. With their app, at locations that support it, you can pull into a special space and hit in the app that you are here. They will bring your order out in 5 mins or less. Both times I recently used it, it took 2 mins and 1 min for the item to be brought out. It was crazy easy and fast. Other companies need to take major note of this.
  22. But it wasn't that cheap! It was $11 BILLON! I understand buying a name like Sears because of it's history, but it's like Toyota buying Yugo. KMart's name wasn't worth crap honestly. I told my mom today that I don't think I've been in a kmart in 15 years. However, I did buy a few items at sears this black friday for a good price. And BTW, not all hand tools are lifetime warranty any more. They replaced my staple gun with one that doesn't have a lifetime warranty. So how do that work if it fails? I had a lifetime one to start with...
  23. UPS is a cluster of mess ups. It took me months to get them to stop billing me for weekly business pickup that I never asked for when renabling my account (which why did they deactivate my account after less than a year?!) Their new stupidity was last week where they tried to deliver a package that needed a sig but we weren't here. They left a little notice that they would try redelivering the next day. We signed the slip saying leave it (it's a $30 tool and no one's going to come up where we live to steal it) but the next day it wasn't there. They instead didn't try delivering it the second day but instead sent it to a UPS store, but not the one a mile from my house, but one 4 miles away! I called last Thursday morning and they said they would have it redelivered to the house. It's now not supposed to be delivered tomorrow. Yup, 5 days to get it 4 miles. I've never had such issues with FedEx.
  24. But how are we supposed to know if they were posted Jan 1 2015? I'd like to slap the lawmaker that added that little part in because they made it impossible to know. You might even say that it's constitutionally vague (like how the restaurant law was struck down after it was passed..)
  25. Wait, did he ever stop crying over the last eight years? What I am most concerned about is that he's going to keep crying for the rest of his life. The man has publicly stated he isn't going to tastefully disappear into private life like other other presidents.
