What's the point of opening a gun store in a tourist area? Most of the tourist that visit PG and Gatlinburg are from out of state and can't buy firearms here. Unless, they are hoping to do a great mail home to local gunstore business. I would love it if a Bud's opened up there with the deals that have.

Convenience Store Clerk With Gun Thwarts Robbery
macville replied to Vistar's topic in Handgun Carry and Self Defense
And the same store got robbed when it was a Weigles about a year ago. Hopefully, the scum will think before they ever hit that store again. -
I love how Haslam is touting that he helped get them to open up here, yet he doesn't want any of us law abiding citizens to be able to carry their products in all parks in TN...

I ordered a blemished lower Christmas day and got it today. But it was only $169 and the blemish is two tiny pin prick bare aluminum dots on the mag well. I would say after the first time I take it out it would qualify as blemished. Super happy.
-
Where did you see it for that price or even close? All I've seen is over $.20 a round lately.

TFA Constitutional Carry Push (Updated with Scans)
macville replied to GlockSpock's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
We can start talking property rights when we actually own property and not have to pay taxes on it each year. -
The guy didn't deserve being shot for being an ass, but he could have avoided the entire confrontation too. It's amazing how self centered people have become.

Dangerous Handgun Fires Near Congresswoman
macville replied to gun sane's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
After reading her "explanation" $500 says she dropped the magazine and then pulled the trigger. Why do people think pulling the trigger is a good idea to "clear" a gun? Drop the mag and then rack the slide a few times with a visual check, and then maybe, just maybe, but not necessary, pull the trigger. -
Trust Regulation Change Update
macville replied to midtennchip's topic in National Firearms Act (NFA) Regulated
Do you have to have an NFA item to file a trust? If not, seems like it would be wise to go ahead and file a trust even if you aren't going to use it soon. -
Guns Stolen During Burglary At Madison Gun Shop
macville replied to Fourtyfive's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
So this place doesn't look like they have any bars on the door to stop a smash and grab. If you aren't going to have bars then put them up in a safe at night for goodness sakes! -
Has anyone actually had their rates go down? If so, was that because the rates went down, or because the taxpayers are subsidizing your plan? (actually, the Chinese taxpayers are in reality!) Everyone that I've found who has gotten cheaper insurance it's because of a subsidy, not actual rates dropping.

Buy a Commerical Electrolux and be done. Not that heavy and will clean any type surface (hard floor to thick carpet.) Ours makes vacuuming fun because it requires little effort.

Note To Self, Roadrage, Motorcycles, and Following someone Home, is a No No
macville replied to runco's topic in General Chat
The shooter used a .22 revolver and a .25 beretta. Explains alot why the victim is still alive. -
Not sure if anyone in this thread has noted this yet, but... The shooter passed the new expanded background check. New gun control law failed just like we said it would. A 7 day waiting period would have also failed becused he would have been able to pick it up on Friday if there was a waiting period. Fail.

Third in on the top looks like it's a Taurus. Bottom center is an XD I believe. Second in on second row is a Beretta I think. Last one on the second row I don't know, but I think it's been spray painted silver! Betting that zero % were trying to pass through security on purpose with the guy (intent to do harm.)

We should pass a law that removes liability for businesses that allows employee's to carry but don't require it if used in a shooting. It's really a simple idea because people are responsible for their own actions.

Dealnews says that BF is not the day to buy a TV. Wait until near Christmas or right after and that's the best deal. I would agree with them.
-
So is georgia not like TN and you can only be required to show your carry permit if asked? I don't know of a law that says if you are walking around you have to have an ID.
-
Did you all ignore that it said he gave them his carry permit? He did give them state issued ID, but they refused to accept it. And you think it's okay for them to ask him to leave a PUBLIC park simply because people didn't like the way he looked? Can I have a dirty hippie thrown out of a park because I don't like the way they look?
-
Yes, let's leave them alone. Some people just want to be left alone by people and the government won't. I feel like these guys really are harmless if they would be left alone. I can kinda feel for them in that regards.

Let's put it this way... My dad was a Knox County Public school teacher and I was homeschooled the entire way through. My mom has been subbing in South FL for the past few years at what we'd call "good" schools and at least once a week she tells me that she's glad we are going to homeschool our girls when they get old enough. It's not only about what they are being taught as "education", but it's all the crap they are learning from the other kids. I want my kids to actually get a good education and not be corrupted by other kids so the decision is easy. Plus, they will turn out smarter:)

Can someone remind us on monday?

I couldn't find the info on how that breaks down by county. Because I bet if you eliminated Shelby county, TN would drop towards the bottom. It's just like Cook County giving IL a bad name. Get outside that county and IL is a nice place to live. Or NY, or CA, etc.

One, a gun is not a tool for just one thing. If it is, all my guns are defective as they have never killed anything more than a piece of paper or a clay target. There are plenty of guns that are designed for only target practice, skeet, etc. Heck, until these super high FPS air rifles came on the market, most airguns would be pretty hard to kill someone with. Most handguns are designed to stop a threat and not much more, otherwise we'd probably shoot rife rounds in them. Yes, they do kill, but rhetoric like that is hard to wade through considering the different aspects of design. Two, your statement about a non-gun person is simply speculation and in my experience, incorrect. Most people are middle of the road and are far more open than you think (even outside the south.) If a person talks to you while your are openingly carrying a gun then it's obvious that THEY WERE NOT THAT FEARFUL. People normally avoid something they are fearful of, we are taking very basic human psychology. Of all the conversations I have had while OC'ing did any start with a person having fear in their body language or voice. There is somewhat, I believe, of a conditioning already in place of "less threat" when people see someone OC'ing in a holster because they see cops doing it. I don't have any proof of that, but what I studied about conditioning and the subconscious in college has led me to believe that (seeing it in media also might help.) If you let the media run the conversation like we have been doing, of course the other side is going to win. We can't fight the war as we have in the past because the game has changed. There seems to a whole bunch of you that want to keep fighting it the old way (silently), but my generation and younger don't respond to that. I don't think it's a coincidence that gun laws have loosened quite a bit across the country after the internet came onto the scene. It's a new era in communications and how you fight. The anti's have adapted the narrative and we need to change that. To keep rights you always have to be on the offense, but we have gotten lazy and switch to the defense. That has to change or we will have no gun rights in 20-30 years. Also, please remember that the people who are the other side screaming at starbucks don't want you to carry concealed in there either. They aren't screaming about us being "reasonable" with our firearms, these are the people that don't want any of us to have firearms period. You are NOT dealing with moderate people. You are just as evil as the OC'ers in their minds.

You've got some wrong info there. Knox County Parks are good to carry in. City of Knoxville are no go, but if you get caught it's only a $50 fine. You could have a gun in your car before if you were a non-student, but now anyone with an HCP can legally have one. But again, if they search your car, they may kick you out of school or fire you. Of course, a legal battle has a good chance of winning these days.
