Well, I wrote out an update to my install yesterday, but evidently it never got posted and I closed the window. So, for what I learned about installing an airlift kit is.... Best to put your truck up on a lift. Taking the tires off really doesn't make it any easier. The first tire I took off, but the second tire I left on for the install. You will have to lift the truck from some other point than the axle to actually install the lift bag. Only if you can lift by frame of the truck can you actually install the kit.   I ended up putting both bags on a T at back of my truck so I can fill both at the same time and keep the same pressure also. It would be nice to have one of their compressors installed, but it's really not a big deal using a little car air compressor. I can go from 0 PSI to 50 in less than 30 seconds because the bags are so small. It's not inconvenient enough to spend another $200 unless I start towing big stuff multiple times a week. Honestly, I hope I never get to that point because I don't want to spend that much time driving!    I have noticed that even at the minimum 5 psi it does change the ride of the truck some. The truck just has a little more bounce to it when going over bumps/potholes/speedbumps. It's not bad, just a different feeling than I am used to from my truck. Still haven't towed my big trailer with it, but hoping to do that soon to see how it rides. I've noticed a nice difference already with just a heavy load in my truck bed.

And eggs were super bad for you 20 years ago and now are considered healthy... How about I eat what I want and ignore all the idiots out there. We are all going to die some day. Some of us may die younger, but we are going to die having enjoyed what we ate.

  I drive past there multiple times a week and never knew it was back there. Great to know though!

So has anyone looked into the Oath Tango rounds yet? http://oathammo.com   They certainly look interesting in design. I like the tip design for feeding reliability and the expansion certainly looks nice. My concern would be penetration through material like heavier jackets, and other denser material. I also wonder how it works when it hits bone.   Matthew

  The professionals I talked to said that in my case (how often I tow and what I load) I would be better off with an air lift kit. It has to do with the fact that 75% of the time driving my truck I am not towing, so I can lower the bags and get a better ride for that time.    My fear is having the truck drop on me because something happened with the jack stand. I see no reason to put myself in harms way if I can avoid it:)

  Sorry, I meant enclosed cargo trailer. I think of utility trailers as flatbeds and cargo trailers as utility. So yeah, it's a big trailer, 6x12 enclosed.

  I think it's 3000-3500lbs when loaded. The trailer is loaded 60/40 like it supposed to be. The problem is, I have to load the back of my truck too when hauling this trailer. Therefore, while I am not over the limit set by Ford, it's pushing everything to it's limited.

  The issue is less about being able to get jack stands that will support the truck and more about my safety. I do not like getting under a truck that is supported on a jack stand. However, I have figured out by looking at multiple videos online that I can do the work of the bracket/bag install without getting under the truck while on the stand. Then, after I get them installed I can put the tire back on and put it up on a ramp to run the hoses and finish the install that requires me to be under the truck. It won't be as quick to install as lifting the truck on a lift, but it will work.

  It still is a feature and not critical to the operation of a firearm. You even said, "gun safety feature"! Just because someone believes something, doesn't make it true. Some people want certain features for items they buy. Air bags are a "safety feature" on cars but have nothing to do with the critical function of a car (a device designed to get you from point A to point B.) Items critical to a firearm's operation are a chamber/barrel, firing pin, and triggering mechanism. Those are critical for a firearm to do what it's supposed to do (fire a projectile down a barrel.)   Heck, find me a gun manufacture who doesn't list a safety as a "feature."

  It doesn't matter who you are talking to, a false analogy is a false analogy. We have hollywood spreading enough FUD about guns without us doing it too. A safety is a feature of a gun, not a critical function of a gun.  :up:

  Try visiting a ropes course or other attraction with "danger" involved. Can you still be sued? Yes. But it's very unlikely because they know you have their signature on a doc that clearly states the issue with the gun.

  Doesn't the law also say that it has to be plainly visible at every public entrance? I have yet to see a single regal posting that was at every public entrance. Heck, I've yet see it at any entrance for any regal theater. It's always on the box office, not at the entrance. I don't see how it can be a legal posting if you have to go out of your way to see it while entering.

Hey guys, so the subject line pretty much is my question. I bought a LoadLifter 5000 kit to install on my 2008 F150 Crew Cab because the back sags when I haul my utility trailer. Looking at videos online, I see people either jacking their trucks up on stands and taking the tires off to install or lifting their trucks up on a lift. I am trying to see about getting access to a lift, but am not holding my breath. So my two options are to either put my truck on stands, which I am not crazy about because I have no clue what my current stands are rated for. Or to put my truck up on ramps, but obviously keep the tires on. Wasn't sure if there was a way to put air lift kits on with the leaf springs somewhat compressed?

  That is a extremely bad analogy. A safety is a feature, not a critical function of a firearm. Breaks are critical for any vehicle period. A safety is closer to an air conditioner, radio, or at worse, air bags. If that were not the case then every glock and any other gun without a safety would be inherently dangerous.   A signed release stating that the safety is non functional and that the buyer is aware of it is all you need for legal reasons. Broken stuff is bought and sold all the time that way. Besides, if a person lets their kid get ahold of a loaded firearm with a broken safety and the kid shoots someone, I think they are going to have more legal issues to deal with than suing you over the safety.

Yeah, I was going to take my family when it was $1 a person when it first opened on Friday, but wasn't going to risk my family for a little bit of fun.

  But how do they figure out what FFL to even ask? Is it that they start with the manufacture and there is a record to which FFL the gun first went to? There must be because unless there was a receipt laying around, how would you ever know what FFL to look at?

The big issue I see is that the talk about not needing bigger pants. But how are you going to slip the gun up through if your pants are their normal size? Or what about a skinny guy like me who desperately needs his belt tight enough to keep his pants on? How are you supposed to draw the gun if your are sitting? (like in your car...)   I would try it before I totally dismiss it, but I believe there are some huge issues with drawing it if you needed to in certain situations.

One report I just read said that a student, who was in one of the classes, saw the professor get shot in the head and then the shooter ordered everyone to the ground and had them stand up one at a time and state their religion. If that is true, this story is going to get very interesting.

A local article said that multiple had been turned away while trying to enter with their weapons, so I think it was just the luck of the draw if you made it through or not.

What are the specifications for a standing in Knoxville? Just being a Knox County resident with a carry permit, or someone who actually tried to enter and was denied?
