Had the same problem at my parent's property. Killed my dad's car's transmission and had to have my F150's wiring harness fixed because of the buggers. When they fixed my truck they put some goop on the wiring that the chipmunks don't like. I think the other thing you can do is put mothballs under where you park and that should help keep animals away.

If you like hiking to see waterfalls then middle prong trail is excellent. There are waterfalls all the way up the trail.

I'm amazed that no one has questioned the fact that there is a law which requires the design to be changed every 8 years. The designs suck. There is no need to change thew current plate. Waste of taxpayer money once again...shocking, right?

I'm headed out to Utah on the 24th. I'm sure we will drive past each other at some point:) Have a great trip! You have some great parks listed. Hopefully you can hike The Narrows in Zion. That is my fave hike in the world and I've hiked a bunch of the US and Europe.

I bought a Weber Spirit II a few years ago after going through multiple cheap grills. I absolutely love it and the only thing I've had to replace were the flavorizer bars-which I replaced with a third party stainless which were thicker and cheaper off amazon. I do suggest buying a better grill as you'll be happy with how much better they cook.

I will say that if you are on a well you can have a really nice lawn. I tried starting some grass in my yard two years ago and the first month of watering was $100 more than normal. Let's say my lawn is more "natural" now...

I grew up on well water in West Knoxville and it tastes so much better than First utility's water which reeks of chlorine. The well water IS much harder than utility water, so a water softener is wise.

Not sure where you were looking but the March monthly exp at $50 is $1535.

My sister currently has the virus. She has symptoms and tested positive Saturday morning after having the symptoms since last Tuesday. My BIL and niece still don't have any symptoms and currently my parents who were visiting them don't have any (the next few days will tell.) I firmly believe that there are a ton of people who either naturally can fight it or have had other cronaviruses that give them immunity. The testing is a scam and there are people getting very rich off it.

When the NY Time is questioning things, there might be some issues:https://www.nytimes.com/2020/08/29/health/coronavirus-testing.html A local Knoxville Doctor found out that Integrity Labs here in Knoxville is using a cycle threshold of 40. Asked why they were using such a high number they said it was because the FDA required them to. It's crazy because the majority of people who are testing positive on these PCR tests really aren't. The mask crap is because people are testing positive, don't have any symptoms and therefore are asymptomatic. However, in reality those people aren't really sick, can't spread the virus, and aren't really asymptomatic! It's crazy and the media is not really digging into this issue.

And you think I don't? We are so focused on trying to protect everyone, when it's really just a small amount that truly needs protection. People in this country think very short term in response to things. The cry is always, "we have to do SOMETHING!" They never consider if the something is actually the best thing long term, or really even short term. Every one is quick to mask up but very few have asked, is this good for our bodies long term? Is this putting us at risk of other health issues (which I've already seen come up with my sister due to wearing a mask.) Is people wearing mask causing people who shouldn't be out taking risk to be out because now they feel "safe"? We have become too "clean" of a society and people are afraid to get any germs and that's now coming back to haunt us. Is there a middle ground, yes. Are we way past that middle ground, yes. Again, I have no issue with anyone wearing a mask if they desire to. I really don't. But people do not have the right to force health decisions, like wearing a mask, on other people. I care about people's right to chose for themselves how they take care of their own health. I may disagree with it sometimes, but I respect their right to chose.

But you thought it was your business to seek out a manager to tell other people what to do? If you see an employee coughing in someones face without trying to avoid doing so, then maybe that's worth a chat. However, this isn't a hospital where a more sterile environment needs to be kept up, it's a store and you don't own the store. I'm sorry that happened to you, but that does not give you the right to force things like masks on other people. Your experience isn't necessarily going to be the same experience for everyone or anyone else. One of the reasons we are where we are as a country is that we've not actually make their own decisions and deal with the consequences. I've done countless hours of research from both my wife and I, that for our family, the risks with masks far outweigh any benefit. However, I don't go out ridiculing people for wearing masks or see out authorities to force people to not wear masks. I fully support people's rights to wear a mask if they feel like they should because I believe in people's right to chose how best to protect their health. But I don't feel like that is reciprocal from people like yourself. I would love to see you prove me wrong.

Why do you think it's your job to police other people like that? If you are afraid of catching it then why are you out when there are plenty of ways to have basically no exposure and get supplies to survive? You and you alone are responsible for your own health.

Here's the absolutely idiotic part. The Knox County Health Department head has said that we should trust them experts (them.) However, those "health experts" don't trust the law experts in their own government when they said it wasn't legal to give such an order. Here's the other thing I was mulling around today. I believe only three people on the task force that voted on this are actual government employees (Jacobs, health director, and some school employee.) Have the non employees not opened themselves up to lawsuits since they would not be protected under qualified immunity? Considering they are unelected they should have no vote...but neither should the health director since she's not elected. In fact, even Jacobs shouldn't have a vote because violating people's rights should never be up for a vote. So yeah, I've not worn a face mask a single time when I've been out for the past few months and I refuse to do so because I believe it's hurting our recovery far more than it's helping.

A vaccine is just like any medicine and can have side effects. The fact that there is the National Vaccine Injury Compensation Program should tell you that it's not as harmless as you think it is.

That is a huge assumption. How many drugs in my 37 years have been pulled because they were proven unsafe years after the FDA approved them? I'll take my chances with the virus since my risk profile is extremely low.

Conditional green card, denied carry permit
macville replied to DrJones's topic in Handgun Carry and Self Defense
Talk to your state rep or senator. One of their jobs is supposed to be helping you navigate the stupidity in the system. -
How much you want to bet that the "silenced" weapon wasn't really silenced? Obviously this guy had a slow burn happening. You don't just randomly get fired and flipped out. Bet there were warning signs for a while now.

It's like we've seen this happen with some other law..now what is it....let me see....oh yeah, illegal immigration! These are not victimless crimes and need to prosecuted. If not, it's just going to get worse and worse, like illegal immigration.

Has anyone participated in a gun control poll recently?
macville replied to Will Carry's topic in General Chat
The problem with polls, besides being way too easy rig with the right questions, is that it's simply people's opinion. When you are asking people about policy and complex issues, I would say close to 99% have absolutely no clue about what they are being polled about. I would love to see a poll done where after they poll they give an education about the issues and repoll to see how much it changes. -
NRA leadership, just as obtuse and opaque as any .gov
macville replied to A.J. Holst's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
As a life member this is more than unacceptable. NRA needs an entire leadership change if it's every going to do members any good in the future. -
Walmart to stop selling .223, 5.56 and handgun ammo
macville replied to hammerdrop99's topic in General Chat
You think walmart would look at what happen wtih Dicks and avoid a foolish mistake, but oh well. I will be buying 100% of my ammo from academy from now on. They seem to have a better selection and price anyway. Probably will avoid shopping there from now on anyway. I can get most of what I got there from Kroger anyway for the same price or cheaper. -
This is a crazy story. The fact that a very obviously adult was in the car with the AC running and this was the second cops reaction is disconcerting. Heck, why would anyone report this in the first place?

Attn. MLEC Customers (Houston, Humphreys, Hickman, Perry counties)
macville replied to I40Bandit's topic in General Chat
Save your money on the 1Gbps. I have 300 Mbps and rarely get the full speed down or up. It's going to be a few more years until all the servers we access actually will deliver such speeds.- 1 reply
