  1. as far as the amish made hat I do not know what community made it. I purchased it from the maker there at a reenactment (they had a booth where they made and sold there on site) in KY for the battle of Perryville back in 2009 or so.
  2. Dang, I loved shooting a fastback back when I had the chance. GLWS and a curtesy bump!
  3. very tempting. unfortunately "$5 is all my momma lets me spend."
  4. I have an assortment of knives and a hatchet I am looking to get rid of total of 11 blades. Most of these are throwing blades. I will attach pictures and I am more than willing to answer questions about the items individually however I will be trying to sell the items as a complete set, if you want multiple pieces from the set PM me and we can discuss options. I am looking for cash so no trades will be entertained. Nothing is wrong with any of the items included in this block so far as I am aware except for a slight bend in one of the batman style blades' tip again, I am more than happy to answer questions or provide better pictures on request. I am asking $30 for the block
  5. ad removed
  6. sorry wrong location.
  7. I am selling everyone associated with my bike except for the bike itself (already sold). I have a very nice 3-1 Olympia jacket, kevlar pants, winter and summer gloves, a sena 30 k headset with mic and I recently got a "brake free" brake light for the helmet but it is still BNIB unopened. I also have the original packaging for the sena. I will attach pictures and I am more than willing to answer questions about the items individually however I will be trying to sell the items as a complete set, if you want multiple pieces from the set PM me and we can discuss options. I am looking for cash so no trades will be entertained. Nothing is wrong with any of the items included in this block so far as I am aware except for on button missing on a coat pocket clearly visible in the pictures. Again I am more than happy to answer questions or provide better pictures on request. I am asking $400 for the block.
  8. I bought mine from T 5 custom kydex. Very satisfied with finished product.
  9. I have a black powder pistol along with everything needed for a range day with it, powder, ball, caps, cleaning supplies everything. The pistol is a Pietta 1851 confederate navy revolver. it has maybe 50 rounds through it otherwise it has been a safe queen. I additionally have a amish made black felt fedora and a reenactment esque knife as the last vestiges from my reenacting days I am selling along with it. I will attach pictures and I am more than willing to answer questions about the items individually however I will be selling the items as a complete set. I am looking for cash so no trades will be entertained. Nothing is wrong with any of the items included in this block so far as I am aware and again I am more than happy to answer questions or provide better pictures on request. I am asking $275 for the block.
  10. As someone who has been burned by most of these before: 1: Availability of accessories and parts- The pistol may be "optics ready" but if it is pre-milled for some small time companies awful red dot that you cannot find then that's a problem. Nice German and Swiss guns are cool but when holsters are hard to find they turn into safe queens. Same with night sights, mags, etc etc etc. 2: Reliability/Safety- I once had a sig P320. It worked just fine and I never had any issues. But after hearing all the stories about drop safety and everything else I just had that little voice in my head saying what if. It went from my EDC, to a sometimes carry, to a never carry, to a sold simply because I thought there was a small (very small) chance that it could go off without my direct input. 3: Size- a lot of people are looking for a tiny gun for EDC and while you can go to big (I tried a FNX 45 Tac for a week or two on a bet) I think most people go too small instead of too large. I have a sig P938 and it is fantastic. BUT I cannot shoot it as well as my other guns because my hand is too big for the grip. On top of that it is only 6 shot unless I get the extended mags which hold 7. Or, I can carry a Walther PPQ (current EDC) and get 17+1, full hand grip on the gun, and it still only marginally prints if at all depending on what I am wearing. Main point is sizing can be too large OR too small. 4: Rails- This may be cheating a little bit but if it is a gun I may have on me after dark I insist on a WML. A weapon with no light is not one I will carry after dark which really limits the places I can carry it to. The only none lit weapon I have right now (over than the P938 mentioned above) is a heirloom pistol (Grandpa's 1911 not government issue) that I carry from time to time in honor of him but never after dark. If you cannot identify your target and what is beyond it (firearms rules of safety) then you are not being a responsible concealed carrier. For that reason I always have WMLs on my EDC.
  11. I have only ever hunted Deer. However, I saw a flock of geese recently and the thought struck me, why not trying something new. I can't find a ton of information out there on the google regarding hunting Geese in TN (I did find the state's website with regs and whatnot). Does anyone have any first hand experience hunting geese in TN? Specifically, is it worth it from a meat perspective? Any restrictions on where I can hunt them? etc etc. All I can find on the states website is dates, information on limiting the number of shots in the tube, and bag limits. Appreciate your learned council.
  12. Literally just what I looking for (nice 12.5" AR)..... only problem is my wife only gave me half that for a budget! GLWS! Looks awesome! I sure it will not last long.
  13. i sent a pm several days ago.
  14. Can you guys confirm if these items in particular are good and quiet for hunting?
  15. correct. thank you!
  16. Smith & Wesson in Knoxville, Beretta in Gallatin, and Head Down in Lewisburg are the only three I know of but that last one is not as widely known,
  17. Hey all, I've been deer hunting casually off and on for 3-4 years now and I have never really invested in quality clothing. I've always just layered what I had laying around the house- old sweats, long sleeve t-shirts, double up on socks, etc. I always wash thoroughly with scent removers obviously and have reasonable success (small bucks and good size does but no good sized bucks). However, this past season I got the bug badly and I was out almost every single day. In the late season, especially with all the snow we had, I was freezing. I was wearing 4-5-6 layers, drinking hot water, hot hands all of it and was nearly miserable except for the love of the hunt (I did get 4 this year so the sacrifice was not in vain) . This season I plan on being out in the woods a lot again but I do not want a repeat of last year. I have already purchased some quality long johns but I am looking for any advice as to which brands to trust with quality gear. I know some people throw out brands like Kryptic, Eberelestock (sp?), KUIU, Sitka, etc. I am not averse to spending quality dough on a quality product but I am not looking to pay a ton for the brand name. If you have a quiet, warm, durable, gear set that you would recommend I would appreciate it. Additionally, I am a ...... "Large fellow" (6'7" and 260) so emphasis on fit for big guys.
  18. well dang, that didn't last long
  19. If the ad is still up this set is still available. I am willing to hear reasonable offers. Best I can tell- to get everything that I have posted here "new" (again this is a very lightly used and well cared for set) is ball park of $375-$400 depending on deals and availability. I feel I am fair with price but if you think I'm too high feel free to message me with a counter.
  20. I'm willing to drive over towards you a little ways (1 hour maybe) but you're right Munford is quite the haul.
  21. I guess I'm the only person who still likes it and and is willing to throw out 308win. The furthest I have ever shot is 650m but the 308 did that just fine. It is my deer rifle (18" AR308) of choice and I got four deer this past season all in the 160-200m range and 3 didn't move 10' from where I shot them. The 4th was just a bad shot on my end. I tripped on a root and dropped my rifle, startled a young antler-less buck, I picked up the rifle and waited for him to pause, he did and in my haste to make up for dropping the rifle and nearly busting my..... cheeks.... I forgot basic marksman ship and didn't utilize a hold over so instead of a good hit I gut shot the poor guy. He took off. but all the others plopped right down.
  22. I recognize the container of powder looks like a gallon sized bucket just from the angle and zoom but it is approximately 18-20oz and feels like it is about half full. I cannot find a measurement on the outside saying exactly how much powder was in there initially so apologies there.
  23. A slightly used (50ish rounds) Pietta 44. caliber 1851 Navy revolver is up for grabs today. Included in sale is the pistol itself, powder, caps, "bullets" (ball park 40ish but I haven't counted), cleaning supplies, etc. all pictured. I can't find it yet but I also have a nice, soft side, pistol case for range transport that will be included. It is a fun gun to shoot and a great show piece. It sat on my desk (I work from home) for a while then got moved to the safe and now I am just looking for some dough for future purchases. I am asking $325 for the lot. but I will consider reasonable offers. Please feel free to reach out with questions. I am in Sumner county and am willing to drive down to Nashville or other areas within 30-45 minutes. Cash and Face to face only.
  24. Unfortunately, this is to expensive for my wife to say yes, but out of curiosity what is that barrel length/gas system?
