Ain't history fun? I love stuff like that!!!
-
hey - thx - really from Chicago?
-
I used to some - my dad was big into it when I was a kid, and I'd go with my older brother 'coin shooting' at the local playgrounds and school grounds. Was fun stuff! I live on farm land, and there might be stuff there, but don't like the idea of digging up the yard - LOL - no fields in my possession.

Thank you for this info! I am seeking to better educate myself and those around me, and be better able to communicate with my elected representatives, both in Nashville and in Washington... Thx for the extra info on their 'obvious intentions' and standings. I could tell just in the videos that they seemed to take this as a direct assault on their organizations. <sigh>
-
Will be watching closely... And yeah - I do NOT like the way they (dept of safety, TBI) have been responding to this. <sigh> They seem to think that stopping gun BANS will mean the bad guys start using guns... I know - I know - same old argument, but really stings when 'they' witness...

I watched the 3/23 and 3/29 videos, and I'm glad the rep's on the sub-committee brought out the fact that this is actually BAD form, for a law. I don't think "Legal" cared much for having to 'defend' it either...

I'll join as well - thank you - XL -
haven't been here that long myself, but they are welcoming! so - welcome and howdy!

I'm a fan of .40 as well. Yes, it's 'snappier' than a 9mm, but I don't shoot competition. I shoot my EDC enough that I feel comfortable with it, even with it being snappy, and if I take my time with the shots I have no problem plinking it for fun too.

Thanks for the tip! As I get older it is, again, something I wouldn't mind checking into as a hobby... Not that I need another one, LOL, but if it's something I can do with my son! You know how family time is...

How long did it take you to get your permit?
jimmylogan replied to One1's topic in Handgun Carry and Self Defense
Have had my permit for years now... I like it cause I travel out of state as well... -
One of my sons has mentioned doing some loading... I figure powder and primers are so hard to find and expensive when you do that it's not worth it other than as a hobby...
-
I am too new to start a private message, but ping me and I'll let you know what I find as I find it if you want...

I don't actively search for 45, so I can't help you there, but I'm always on the lookout for 9mm, since we have several... Usually, Academy, if you have a credit card, beats most other places... You get free shipping and you save 5% on the order. I do that and just pay it in full every month, so I'm actually saving the money. LOL One of the local stores has 9mm for 19.95 - save a little by buying 1000 rounds at a time. If you're low, that's not a bad price at all, but that's in Dyersburg... What are you looking to pay?

Designs - oh yeah! No doubt there! We had a period of years where my wife would get a KelTec every year around her birthday. Started out with a 9mm (P17 maybe? Been several years ago...) The next year she got a P32 for a 'boot gun' or backup. Then a year or two later they came out with the P3AT, so... yep - she had to have it too! LOL She got her .40 Shield and gave me the 9 for a carry. When I got my .40 (since I loved the way hers shot) she gave the 9 to our oldest son. She eventually found a Ruger LCP II in .380 and gave the KelTec to our OTHER son. I was THIS close to buying a PMR a few months ago, but wanted to shoot one first. A guy at church has one but hasn't shot it much, so I brought the ammo and he brought the gun and we shot some after church one night. I liked it - a lot - but not enough to spend $400 on... Didn't think I'd get that much fun out of it. Oh - she and I each have a SUB-2000 9mm that we VERY much enjoy.
-
Glad you got this worked out!!! My EDC is a .40 Shield version 1 - have had no problems - even put an MCARBO trigger spring kit in it and polished the 'innards' - no complaints! I've had my eye on a Plus for a while, for the extra capacity and the flat trigger - but now the 30 Super Carry with the optic slide has me intrigued - just haven't seen one in the wild...
-
Well done! And I was just hearing your voice this morning, catching up on the TFA podcast. Nice to put a face with the voice I've been hearing. And I'm new to this forum, but not new to TFA - thank you for what you do!

I'm in Dyersburg - I don't normally sell my guns, but I have a Rough Rider I'm NOT happy with - the front site needs straightening, so I've thought of getting rid of it... Black pearl grips, black-ish finish - has had about 50 rounds through it... That being said, they are not expensive, so you can probably find one in a store for the same money, plus tax and TICS, of course...
-
They are also usually over retail, so if they are holding out for RETAIL-PLUS they are not selling as fast. That's my VERY uninformed, outside the industry take...
-
Will check those out - much obliged! Yeah, went to my favorite store (the one in Brownsville) first - he's a Class III and can do the paperwork for the NFA as well (he's trying to get set up for the electronic forms), but he doesn't show one available from his distributor, so of course it falls on me to look for one. LOL That being said, he promised to talk to his contacts and see what he can do, but if I can find one first, etc.

Hey fellow gun owners... There's a question at the end, but for the sake of discussion, I have a bit more to type - LOL Also - I ran this by the boss <g> and he said it was okay to post... Anyway, a few years ago our youngest son brought his newest toy over - a SUB-2000 Keltec in 9mm. My wife loved it, and we started looking... Found her one in Dickson, so we made the trip. I decided I wanted one too, as a 'truck gun,' and started looking. Stumbled on one AND ONLY ONE in stock at GT Distributors, so I ordered it. Then our son bought a .40 cal version - LOL Anyway, they (Keltec) have announced the SUB-CQB version! It has an integrated suppressor! And now my wife wants one - LOL. I've been unable to find one in stock... I know she'd have extra paperwork, and that's okay, and there'd be a delay, and that's okay (she's female, so not the most patient person, but she knows it's not 'instant'), but right now I'd just like to find one. Anybody seen one out there? Or can point me in the proper place? Much obliged!!!

My son has a 43 and I will tell him about this!

Totally understand that just throwing it out there.
