Just finding out about this round. Can a 8.6 upper go on a .308 ar lower? what mags would I use

I have never built an AR15 before and looking for advice and help. Im needing an upper preferably in bronze. I would like the barrel to be shorter than the rail. I have a faux suppressor for now that I want to slide down into the rail and mount to barrel so that it barely sticks out of the rail. Where can I get these things or get the parts to put on together? Any help would be appre iated...picture for reference

Always felt rebates where a scam, why not just deduct that amount from total? I wonder how many buy with the rebate deduction being the reason only to never carry through with rebate? Same thing with gift cards, read somewhere that over 80% of gift cards are never redeemed....
