Wondering if the Feds will come check out whats going here, maybe declare it an emergency area?

For any bikers out there, the Bobarosa in Del Rio is gone. Not surprising I guess being directly on the French Broad river.

The town of Erwin TN got hit hard. The hospital there asked for folks in boats to help evacuate, and the water rose so fast they had to put people on the roof and get helicoptered out. I believe part of I-26 got washed away there also. In addition to all the houses damaged.

Growing up in CT, we would walk out in the woods behind our house and shoot 22's. Never a big deal. One of my favorite stories about liberals- There was a gun club in a small town that was there since the 1930's. Pretty low key, mostly did trap and skeet shooting Sunday mornings. In the 1980's some couple from NY bought property close to it and build a huge house (it was their weekend house). Apparently the realtor forgot to mention the gun club-lol. Anyway, they sued the gun club and tried to get it closed down. In the end they lost, but the club spent a lot of money on a lawyer. Another club, the oldest in CT I believe, had a guy claim he found a bullet on his property about a mile away. He showed it to them, the bullet was still in the case-lol. But they still found a lawyer to sue them .There was a lawsuit, and the club had to put these blinder things on each rifle lane. So if shooting a rifle from the bench, there is a wall several inches above the barrel so as not to shoot too high. I hear it gets in the way of big scopes. Ive mentioned before, so glad to get out of that ****hole state You dont even want to know whats involved in doing a gun sale or trade there.

About 25 years ago my boss's kid was in high school. The teacher asked the class about their hobbies. He's a target shooter so he answered 'shooting'. She seemed confused, and asked what he meant. He made a finger gun and said "you know, shooting. Bang Bang.' Well, she went to the principal and said something to the effect that she felt threatened, and he got suspended. It cost my boss quite a bit in lawyer fees to get it all straightened out.

Well, just saying you sold it legally, or actually having some paperwork to back it up, could make a difference in how much they want to talk to you-lol.

Last year when doing a trade with a guy, he told me a story about a call he got from the police involving a gun that he had owned. It had been used in a crime. Luckily he had a BOS to prove he didnt own it anymore.
-
If I sell a gun that I bought new, or has a paper trail to me, I get a BOS. Just protecting me I figure. For something I bought without one, I dont ask for one. Lately I havent been selling, just buying guns that I want to keep. I wouldnt have a problem with a BOS if the seller wanted one though.

After reading stuff like this, I'm seriously considering carrying my AR in the car now. Currently I only have my EDC pistol with me in my vehicles.
-
Now thats some funny stuff right there. Is that the original assault rifle?
-
For the house, I like my 12 ga coach gun. Open choke, and short barrels. If you are trying to walk around the house in the dark, the short barrel doesnt keep hitting walls and doors.

There is one for sale a few ads down (or up)
-
LOL. and I just saw an ad for a Tactical flashlight
-
So am I missing something, or does 'tactical' just mean 'de-cocker'? I kinda thought tactical meant a gun usually with a de-cocker, but also a threaded barrel and maybe suppressor height sights? Now I see ads for a 'tactical' model, and its a normal model with de-cocker instead of a safety.

wanted Looking for SP-01, P-01, and Beretta 92s

Good luck finding a P-01 with a manual safety, unless you want an Omega. The few I've seen are going for big dollars. -
Gun Rack in back window of a truck
Tom B replied to vontar's topic in Handgun Carry and Self Defense
I remember having a gun rack in my truck back in the day. But thats before we had extended cabs and double cabs and crew cabs. With 2 people (or even 3 with a bench seat) in the truck there wasnt room for much else-lol. -
My Sp-01 is as heavy as a boat anchor-lol. I dont see how that could be carried concealed comfortably.
-
My wife carries a Smith 8 shot 22 revolver model 317. Super light, and super simple to operate. She has a concealed carry pocketbook she uses.
-
I too am concerned my wife wouldnt be able to clear a jam. So she carries a Smith 317 8 shot 22 revolver. I know, I know folks will say its only a 22. Its almost all aluminum and weighs nothing. 3" barrel, and I put some smooth wood grips on it so it doesnt snag. But she feels comfortable carrying it. And who am I to argue with her-lol

Only read the last page so dont know if it was mentioned, but i saw the 'Fall Guy' last night and it wasnt bad. At the end, Lee Majors and Heather Thomas had cameos and he looked better than her-lol -
I know this is a whole other discussion, but for a SHTF situation I dont think I'd want a semiauto. Youre screwed if you lose the mag Revolver for handgun, maybe a lever for a rifle. My opinion only.

Havent seen it mentioned, but I really like my FN 502

I'm not the best shot around, but I shoot a lot of guns in my backyard range. Almost always offhand. The gun that shot the best groups for me ever was a Canik TP9SFX
