Love my 74. Recoil is much lighter than a 47. I haven't had too much trouble keeping ammo but I buy mostly off here and other local buy/sell/trade groups. Honestly, it is one of my favorite firearms and calibers. Biggest downside is finding 74s for a reasonable price. I would almost suggest a Galil Ace in 545 with prices hovering around $2k for a used ak74. Palmetto State Armory had Galil Ace BLEMs going for $1500 and I have been struggling to not make that purchase, haha. If you are ever in Nashville then you are welcome to try mine out. I take it to the range pretty often!

Awesome firearm! GLWS! -
I did try to take some pictures in lower light but that resulted in those blurry pictures that look like they are from 20 years ago. I'm no photographer so I just did what I could The optic in low light is much brighter but is subtle enough to not obscure your sight picture at night. I am really pleased with the end result. I bought some extra vials of the tritium in a couple of other colors and I wish I had more optics to do this on.

Yeah, I first saw it on Forgotten Weapons and was intrigued by how it looked. Once I found Malcolmar's version I was for sure going to buy one but the LV/S version called me. The rifle is much heavier than you would think but it feels comfortable. Weirdest thing about it is the bolt release being on the top of the rifle near the optic.

This is actually my third roller delayed firearm! I think I have a type haha

Been eyeing this gun for a year. Ended up buying one two months ago JUST before they sold the last of them! The recoil is almost non-existent which is great because the original British SUSAT optic requires you put your eyebrow up to the optic. I was genuinely worried I was going to end up with a black eye but the rifle shoots insanely flat. I know it isn't for everyone but this rifle hits all my marks on looks for milsurp. The British SUSAT optic is 4x and incredibly clear. I just replaced the tritium that was originally in the optic (removed due to export). Just need to find myself a strap, bayonet, and possibly the bipod!

I already received my order from Mixglo and the vial is perfectly seated in the optic rod. I'll try to get some pictures but the source was quality and got here quicker than things from Amazon
-
It is actually going into a small recess on a rod. All I do is put some fresh silicone in there and gently lay the vial into the silicone. I watched a video of a guy doing it specifically for a SUSAT and it looks "fool proof". I'll certainly challenge that!
-
From my understanding, the amount of tritium in the vials is not enough to be harmful. Instructions are to let the gas dissipate and to drink fluids as @mike_f said! Appreciate the call out for safety from both of y'all, this stuff isn't to be played around with! Hoping to get my SUSAT optic back to spec! Thanks everyone!

That is where I am purchasing mine but I didn't want to share unless it was good to go! I've heard really good things about the seller from various sources.

Thanks for the replies! I think I found a source. I will be ordering one tomorrow and will post an update if the source is good or not.

I was wondering if anyone had any experience finding a replacement tritium element for an optic or possibly know a gunsmith who performs this repair. Basically I have an exported Optic that had the element stripped before export. I would like to replace it to illuminate the optic and restore it to its original setup. If relevant, the optic is a British SUSAT mounted on the MarColMar CETME LV/S. I did ask the importer but they did not have anything to share.

Well darn, if you ever are in Nashville then I'll take em.

Great price! You are going to sell this fast! If I didn't just get my CMP garand a couple of months ago then I would be hitting you up! GLWS -
Just saw a post from Glockstore - they are waiving background fees for today and tomorrow. Cheers!

I haven't had the chance myself. I don't have access to a range that I can setup this way - land just ain't as reasonable as it used to

PSA just stopped a deal where you could get a AKV with 10 mags and a case for $999. If I see it pop up again then I'll dm it to you.

Welcome man, yeah scammers ruin everything. It is why we can't have nice things.

shops to go to for mil surps?
molov replied to shadyduk1979's topic in Curio, Relics and Black Powder
Finding milsurp in stores is pretty rare as everyone else has pointed out and most prices are out of control. If you have specific requests then post it on the firearms classified in this forum as a wanted firearm. You could also try checking out your local pawn shops. I've noticed a lot of people will pawn grandpa's gun over trading it at a LGS. Otherwise, gunbroker/armslist is my last line. I did go to that Gun Show out in Lebanon last month - what milsurp was there was way over priced. Good luck! -

If he takes the rifle then I’ll take the optic. Let me know how much you’d want if it goes that way. -
Hey y'all, T Rex Arms put out some cool drills up for free on their website. Wanted to share, enjoy! https://www.trex-arms.com/training-drills/

Hey all, I'm curious if anyone locally has ever handled or shot one of these firearms. Is this thing really worth $5k? Jay
