So torn between the XL and the Macro, comp no comp. My biggest concern with the Macro is concealablitly. Any challenge vsl the XL? The new Legion version is tempting. I much prefer all metal guns even with the added weight. 1st world problems...

Ok, that all makes me feel better. I can't imagine they would be too strict. We are going to bring the ruger mark III tack driver -
TN Enhanced Carry Permit Class - Shooting Requirements?

Thank you! -
I will be taking the enhanced carry class with the Mrs. next week and I saw that there is a shooting test. Can somebody elaborate on what the shooting test entails? I would like to make sure the Mrs. will pass with no issues. Also, can it be rimfire or does it have to be center fire? Thank you

M&P 15-22 set up for the kiddos. Very fun rifle that needs a suppressor some day! Winchester 94-22

This guy did a very in-depth, unbiased review series of his SFAR and it gives me major pause on this rifle. And comments in the video show that he is far from alone. Some people have no issues at all, but some people get major lemons and waste a lot of time and $ trying to diagnose. And the most concerning thing is that it sounds like Ruger has no idea what is going on. Hopefully a SFAR2 will come out some day, but until then, I am going to sit on the sidelines.

I have been wanting a 'battle' rifle recently and the the SFAR caught my attention pretty quickly due to the size / weight / price. However, I am seeing online that a lot of owners have reliablity and accuracy issues. Being a new rifle though, I am thinking (hoping) those may have been resolved by Ruger? Do any of you have some hands on experience? Thanks!

Hi All. New to the area and need to find a stone mason that works in Blount county. I have some brick work and chimney flashing that needs to be fixed. If they could also clean a chimney and inspect a wood stove that would be a bonus! Thank you

I just wanted to give a hearty recommendation for Volunteer Firearms in Vonore. I am new to TN and was looking to pick up some AR lowers. I stopped into Volunteer and met Bob who runs the shop. He was super nice and welcoming, even to a new face. Unfortunately, they had just run out of stock for the model I was looking for so I ended up buying them online from Primary Arms. After the purchase, Bob was super quick to email his FFL to PA per their instructions and then he called me right away when they got delivered. It seemed near impossible back home to find a shop that would check their email and communicate clearly. When I showed up to the shop there was no wait and the lowers were ready to go. Transfer cost was very reasonable compared to some other shops that I called.

I ended up going with Volunteer Firearms in Vonore. Bob runs the shop, super nice guy (even to a new face)! They charge $30 total for up to 3 firearms. Communication was great. He emailed his FFL right away and then called me when the lowers showed up. No wait when I got there. Cannot recommend Volunteer Firearms enough, WELL worth the drive.

New to East, TN. What is a typical transfer fee cost?

New to TN and in Blount County. Do any ranges around here do bowling pin shoots? I loved pin shoots back home. So much fun. Thanks!

New to TN and relatively new to the forum. Before moving here I saw a lot of stuff about TN recently passing a "permit less carry law" which I thought was basically constitutional carry, which allowed non-prohibited persons to carry concealed or open without a permit. Now that I am here and trying to get my ducks in a row, I am seeing that there are different levels of permits. I did skim though the legal section on the forum, but did not see this topic addressed. Could someone break this down for me in simple layman's terms? Do I need a permit to carry here now that I am a resident? If not, then why would I want to get a permit? Thanks!

Thank you for the info. I'll have to check these places out. Do you know if any of the ranges have outdoor steel target or allow you to bring your own? I got spoiled shooting steel back home and now shooting paper inside has has kind of lost the thrill if you know what I mean.

Hi. Recently escaped from MA and landed in Blount county. Currently renting until we can :hopefully: find a home with some land. Any recommendations for a local shop and public shooting range / land? Thank you!
