    MSAR 7.62x39

microtech put the 6.8 on hold to focus on getting the 9mm MCR into production. (the pistol caliber versions that uses Glock magazines)
  3. how's the height/cheek weld with the acog? i'm going to run the same setup w/ my TA50R and ADM mount. i'm debating on getting the lower E4 rail mount so I can run AR height buis. if you are intrested Titan Defense has Troy short flip up sights for $224. (.27" shorter than AR height sights)
  4. I got a black STG556 railed model waiting for me @ my ffl. sucks i'm out of town now. Ratworx has a crazy sale until the end of Jan.
  5. So a $350 SKS w/ improved iron sights vs a thin barrelled $700 (paid $680+ tax@ tics in 2008 for a mini 6.8) easily optics mounted Mini.... SKS for me.
  6. You're more than welcome.
  7. Because the people who CAN find out personal information from serial numbers on firearms posted on gun forums are far more dangerous than some schmuck that will report your own gun stolen.
  8. I would rather load a stripper clip than change out magazines. If you do make it past the first hour when the balloon goes up, how many magazines are you planning to have...? Most infantrymen carry 6. (180 rounds plus extra ammo.....on stripper clips) So when you run all your magazines dry, you would have to stop and reload them anyway, IF you retained them while firing on the move. Just my $0.02.

    AR Hype

Sometimes you never really stop being a soldier no matter what your DD214 says.

    AR Hype

The AR-15: - one of a very few firearms where an average person can modify, maintain and/or assemble with a few special tools. - one of few semi automatic rifles that has controllable recoil by design. (Very little muzzle climb) - the only rifle I know where you can change caliber in 1 step. (3 if you count bolt and magazines) I find it funny how people who hate the AR15 forget that thier beloved hunting rifles all started out as military issue firearms by design or adopted and used by militaries around the world. (Lever actions, Mauser based bolt actions, the .30-06, etc.) Sometime in the future I'm sure I'm going to hate on those newfangled photon lazers.
  11. not to in your thread but I'd take a SKS w/ tech sights over a mini anything. Unless you like shooting 1 round per minute. The SKS wins in price, ergonomics, magazine (easier to load stripper clips than finding good aftermarket magazines), ease of maintainence and rate of fire. Mini wins on...wait...um...nevermind. Wait. Mini is good on cold barrel accuracy.
  12. ....
  13. I was in the market for a shotgun early last year and I was on the fence over getting another Mossberg or a Remington 870 express. I got the Mossberg 535 over the Remington Express because of the Mossy's dual extractors, dual action bars, safety position and I read that to install a magazine tube extension you have to file off some lips or tabs (permenant mod). I didn't check out every variation of 870's but the ones I did didn't prove to be any better than the Mossbergs. IMO
  14. Thanks. I even might do my mosin one day.
  15. Pretty Mosin.
  16. Unfortunately no. FAIL Full of win
  17. Ever consider a Marlin 795? I got one for my son from Dick's back when they were $99. It takes 10 round magazines ($19.99 @ Gander Mountian) but the stock sights suck. I bought some tech sights for it and even he can shoot <2" groups @ 25 yards standing w/ GI sling. It comes with a blued finish. I parkerized the barrel and painted the reciever on this one b/c after we shot it in the rain the barrel rusted where it got scratched. (I'm not a fan of blued firearms) The AR has a Tactical Solutions .22lr dedicated upper w/ a 1:16 twist 16" barrel.
  18. Are those still legal to have posted in resturaunts? The ones in red letters on white background that says "knowingly possessing a concealed handgun where alcoholic beverages are served...blah, blah, blah... fines... imprisonment... under Tennessee code... That resturaunt bill did pass already? Right? What I am asking is if a resturaunt still has those signs up (before the bill passed) are they still lawfully enforceable?
  19. Well. You sure showed me.
