  1. I am not quick to bash anyone giving a honest gun review on the internet but this guy sounds a little "off". Even my 10 year old son knows the difference between a slide/frame and upper/lower recievers. Modern polymers are hardly "just plastic". The thread protector has an O-ring between it and the barrel sleeve so it shouldn't just loosen under fire (mine never did in over 10-11k rounds). And the slide can easilly be put back on with a cleaning rod. ...Anyway, I bought my son (then 7 y/o) his P-22 (17,000 s/n range) 4 years ago and had none of the problems this guy describes (or claims). Initially he had some problems with Remington Thunderbolt ammo (which is subsonic) but since 2006 it doesn't have many FTFeed problems. (maybe 1 or 2 a range trip with lead bullets) With most of my semi-auto handguns I polished the feed ramp. My son always slingshots the slide and never uses the slide stop. There is a bump behind the barrel that slows down slide travel, I haven't altered it but I put a drop of lube there and no feeding problems (other than lead nosed ammo). We shoot Federal bulk (and Auto Match), Blazer, CCI green tag, and Remington Golden Bullet with virtually no problems. My son shoots this pistol exclusively and doesn"t have (m)any problems.
  2. Well good thing about Plastic furniture, if you don"t like it you can always dye it Black. (or a darker color)
  3. I heard good things about the Sparc. Good choice there.
  4. TacSol AR-22 Marlin 795 Ruger 10/22 Walther P-22 Currently wanting a Browning Buckmark or Ruger MkIII Got the Buckmark
  5. I couldn't get it to wash out in any of my tests. It did wash out looking directly into the sun though. It is BRIGHT out in the sunlight. But like the Trijicon reflex II I had the blue tint does make it bothersome to use indoors in low light unless you keep both eyes open.
  6. Very nice. That also sucks about West Tennessee that there aren't any public rifle ranges with decent distances here. I shoot at the FOP in jackson and only get 100 yards IF no one else is there cause you have to shoot from the parking lot.
  7. As a fan of the game it was hard for me to watch when my 9 y/o started when he was 6. There is not much organization and they aren't learning "how to play". I do wish they would start them out in actual positions @ a young age rather than have 4 strikers and 1 goalkeeper. Get perpared to repeatedly yell, "NO BUNCHING!!!" And the scoring from kickoff is hillarious. I screwed my son up when I told him to space himself away from his team mates when they have the ball so they can pass it to him when he is wide open because ALL 7 of the other kids are going to fkock to the ball. Well he never got the ball unless he intercepted it himself, so I later told him "go ahead and bunch".
  8. Stripped the rusted chrome big wheel tricycle my wife bought for my son @ a yard sale and prep for sandblasting.
  9. What it used to be. Too front heavy for a .22lr.
  10. I say TGO edition because the majority of the accessories were bought or traded from TGO members. AR-22 Appleseed LTR
  11. MSAR STG556 + Trijicon RMR = Pure Awesomeness She's a keeper now. All I need now is a sling, brass deflector and more ammo.
  12. Tac Sol AR/22 upper on Bushmaster A2 lower - .22lr Glock 19 - 9mm BCM Middy AR15 - 5.56x45mm Mossberg 535 w/ Burris FastFire MRDS 3.5" 12 guage shotgun S&W 327NG .357 Magnum 7 shot 2-1/2" revolver
  13. If I did I wouldn't be ashamed or anything. If that was all I had, why not. So. with that out of the way... I wouldn't carry a Hi Point as long as there were better options out there. I'd carry a Bersa T-380 or a Taurus .38spl revolver first.

    ArmaLite?

I shot a few AR-10's a few years back and was generally impressed but when I shot a DPMS AP-4, I was not impressed with the trigger, accuracy or the multiple FTF and FTE's. (though the finish was superb) I aslo don't care for the receiver "shape" that you can't use any other upper but DPMS. You can't use most after market free float handguards either.
  15. WOW. I paid $530 just for my TacSol AR-22 upper 2 years ago. I'd definitely go with the Quebec. I would also get a free float handguard. I had a BIG difference in accuracy after I put on a FF rail. (even with bulk ammo) This the best setup for me. Rifle length sight radius. The front sight post wont be so big compared to the carbine length.
  16. I'd go with an Aimpoint. I have the M2 on my defensive rifle. I am toying with the Trijicon RMR I bought for it but I may put the Aimpoint back on b/c the RMR is 9 MOA. The amber dot is bright outdoors but is HUGE. I'm not sure how it will do on targets past 200 yards. With Aimpoint

    ArmaLite?

I was looking at thier AR-24 pistols when they first came out. The consensus on TOS was the first production run was plauged with failures. That was more than 3 years ago and I haven't looked into it again because the CZ 75 isn't hard to find pnline and doesn't appear to have many QC problems (that i've heard of). The AR15, no problems there. They could make more "fit for duty" complete rifles material wise (I don't really care about 1/7 vs 1/9 but the barrel steel could be a beter choice). I'd definitely choose an AR-10 over the DPMS LR-308. My co worker has a late 90's M-15 and he still puts it over any mid tier factory rifle (Bushy, RRA, Stag etc.)
  18. Robinson Arms is coming out with a .308 version of the XCR soon.
  19. Didn't notice that before I posted. Personally I think "tactical" and ".22lr" should never be used in the same sentence. IF the S ever did HTF I would not be grabbing a .22 rimfire. I would however grab the AR15, a .45 and maybe throw a .22lr pistol in the BOB for food harvesting. And ideally that would be a revolver.
  20. SHTF the tube fed .22lr wins. I'd go with the Marlin 60. Unless you are trying to shoot a gang of woodland creatures in 1 setting for survival I don't see the need for fast reloads. Plus no protruding magazine to get hung up on anything.
  21. I put a collapsable stock on my Mossy 500 and it actually made 3" magnums worse. I put the pistol grip back on for 00 buck in the house. I like to keep it handy, for close encounters....
  22. BAM!!! 252 in 3 years. At least it isn't a thousand +1 like on other forums.
  23. It's not all that blue. It is 100x better than halogen though. You have to get right in front of them to be blinding. Even looking @ them from 5 feet on either side and you won't get any glare. I still have to aim them.
  24. I assembled the combination toolchest my wife got me for our anniversary and I installed Halo Projector headlights with an 6000k HID upgrade. ...Oh and I mailed off a Money Order to a fellow TGO'er for some tactical awesomeness.
  25. BCM Middy, Aimpoint M2, YHM rear, Magpul MS1 sling, ASAP plate, MOE stock and grip. TacSol .22, YHM Diamond FFR, Vtac sling, GG&G bipod adapter, Bushy CH Both around 8 lbs unloaded.
