Monday bump-day. Added a handful of specific partial trades I could accept. -
Just my $0.02. Unless power factor is a consideration the chambering doesn't matter much beyond which make/models you may choose from. 1911s with the single stack design are all going to be low capacity by today's standards regardless of chambering. That you are already leaning toward 9mm, were I in your position with your goal and stated budget, I would pass on a 1911 altogether and save up a little longer to get onto the 2011 platform. I'd echo DocHawk's sentiment for Sig 1911s, the ones I've shot have all been of excellent quality.

Nice setup GLWS -
This is 100% about improving their gun registry, laying the groundwork for disarmament. FPC and GOA are both worth it IMO in terms of fighting this sort of systemic tyranny from a practical standpoint, in addition to the usual pestering of your representatives...

What Most People Who Carry Fail to Realize
James B replied to crc4's topic in Handgun Carry and Self Defense
I had personal criteria to meet before carrying... Reckon I spent about a year training/learning (and making insurance changes in light of new risks) before I actually got my permit and began to carry every day. Also a fan of Branca's book, but thankful I never needed to defend my or anyone else's life during that time. I don't think my approach was typical, or necessarily reasonable to expect from everyone or maybe anyone. There is this background cognitive dissonance in our country when it comes to our rights perceived versus practiced, and I think THAT, more than personal flaws, helps to create a population predisposed to failing at exercising its own rights. Fudd lore is a thing, sure, and sometimes people are negligent or arrogant or slow or whatever, but how is "lol all your rights got taken away because you're too dumb to spend 100s of hours and 1000s of dollars reading self defense law books, attending firearms, self defense, first aid, etc. etc. etc. training courses before defending your life or maybe your kids', pleb" an acceptable cultural response to that? And how is NOT carrying at all an acceptable solution? We need more people to carry, not less. Lastly, I know we want to be lawful folk, here and anywhere else, but sometimes the law is jacked up, and in rare cases, the law is not even just -- think ww2 germany and just following orders. Sometimes we nurture or are nurtured with malicious intent (how do you have no idea what your rights actually are despite 12+ years of state education)... -
Sold. Thanks, all, for your time.

Don't appreciate you lying like that after accusing me of running a scam, no less. Show me where I ever accepted your offer:

Not a scam, just got busy with some other things / forgot to check the forums. I'll update the post to set that expectation for anyone else... I messaged you both back.

If I were in your position and had the werewithal to do so I'd lawyer up and maybe reach out to GOA and FPC; from a strictly not-legal-advice-giving internet person's perspective it sure seems like your rights are being infringed and you are being caused harm.

Authorities Want to Track Your Guns and Ammo Purchase
James B replied to i1afli's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
Bump. FYI the big 3 payment processors agreed to this, and they're working to implement methods to tag and track firearms-related purchases. "For your safety" and so forth as per the usual uniparty line. -
S&W Shield Plus, rotate between wethepeople IWB and aliengear sport tuck IWB holsters depending on whether i'm riding or driving; the aliengear at 3oclock is pretty excellent while riding, although i suppose an OWB under jacket would be 'best' i cant bring myself to carry owb in public.

Really excited at the prospect of getting into a double stack 1911 platform at much less than a 2011 price point. Expect for 1000 USD less give or take there are gonna be some differences in quality vs. Staccato, et. al., no problem there. Anyone have recommendation of an honest dealer(s) to order/get on a waitlist for one of these, located around Mid TN?
-
It's enticing but that location is problematic, so far and so much traffic. Do you have trouble booking time? One would think that with more limited space there'd naturally be more contention for it versus a traditional many-lane shooting range.

This is the precise real and immediate threat from ongoing and unprecedented overreach by The Party, that unelected machinations can interject themselves in your healthcare without the need for representational government to legislate AT ALL. Read: Executive branch decree with private sector collusion = your rights just got nuked from orbit without a single law needing to be passed. Bad. Times. Are. Here.

Love it! Is that an armorycraft extended mag release button btw? I'm also patiently awaiting a tlr-7 sub...
