  1. Glad you had a good time. Honestly, there are worse concerts to go to than Air Supply.
  2. I have a tree that is about 36" across at the base, after 2 days it is mostly gone. It came down during a heavy windstorm a few months back ripping up the roots and all. Yesterday when cutting it down, the roots became too heavy and it is standing up again . Cutting it up with my Echo CS-490 from HomeDepot, only a 20" bar but it is getting the job done. This is just one tree out of a half dozen that needs to be cut up and hauled away. Mostly done now. A heck of a lot cheaper than paying someone and getting me into shape.
  3. Thanks for the feedback, and not really much of a life's savings but more of a hobby savings. So not really too worried there. Good thought on getting it into gun shows; not a bad idea. Thanks.
  4. Two problems, 1, distance, you’re about 4 to 5 hours from me (I’d pick up the lot if I was around). Second, the way it is posted, everything is crossed out, looks like it is all sold.
  5. Sorry to hear that you’re going through all of this, I’m sure it is hard, but glad that you’re still here and letting us know what is going on, hopefully we can offer a little support and lift your spirits.
  6. Over in the Bellevue area of Nashville there are quite a few. But nothing like when I go to SoCal, there are TONS everywhere. Every color you can think of too. Some look cool, but they are so common it’s meh now.
  7. Even worse, my son makes about $5000 to $10,000 a year, he has started his own business and is what most consider POOR. He only has a place to live because I own it. He should be getting the hand outs left and right, but doesn't. He doesn't want to take any but also doesn't qualify for various, bad, reasons. I had to buy him new tires for his car because he couldn't afford them. CA doesn't care about you unless you are a one of their "protected" people.
  8. These types of hackers are not all that intelligent actually, they just read some hacking pages and find holes in the software that is used to run the forums. Many of the forums use the same code bases, so once one hole is found, it makes it really easy for them to get others. And it doesn’t just happen to bigger forums, even small ones get hacked. I ran a forum a few years ago for about 100 people… it was hacked. They used an exploit in the image processing system to get the login information (kinda clever, but it was not something they produced, just copied and re-used). It’s a lot harder to make a good secure system than to hack into one. I’ve been on both sides throughout my life. I’m not too concerned about this page, or any other gun page. Those who post here generally are gun people, and don’t give a crappola if the government knows we have guns and / or especially don’t care about gun grabbers. Although you are right about passwords, don’t use the same one over and over again (ok, I do for sites I don’t care about at all, and really don’t care if breached, but never for important sites). I highly recommend getting a password manager, most will sync online so it will work on all your machines, and can automatically log you in. Great having a 30 digit random password . . . Until you run up against a site that automatically truncates it and doesn’t tell you (Yes, I’ve run up against those).
  9. The only redeeming quality of SoCal was the weather. A lot of crazy people there, a LOT of people overall. My son is still there and he has a car sitting for a year that he hasn’t driven. Went to register it, and they wanted not only the $450 registration (it’s a 2010) but also registration for the year it was sitting, plus fines for not registering it as an unused vehicle. I forgot to register my 2021 pickup for six months, didn’t even realize it past…. $29. Even worse, I was in CA visiting my son, and couldn’t get the paperwork, so they mailed it to me in CA. What nice people, really what makes the world a better place.
  10. Nashville Gun and Knife has recently changed names as well, but I don’t recall what it is called right now.
  11. What types of food would be good for sealing? Oatmeal Pastas Beans Pancake mix Mac & Cheese Rice Dried mixes (like pudding and Jello) Sugar Dried Milk Seems like veggies are something you’d have to grow. So maybe seeds?
  12. That’s a really good tip, thanks! Just looked on Amazon, the 500cc packets are about $10 for 100 of them, so not really expensive. And yes, search for Oxygen Absorber for Food Storage, they have ones specifically for food storage.
  13. Been waiting for it to go on sale, it's on sale now $75 after $25 off. It's a very good sealer. I've been looking at the "25 year" containers and most of them are nothing more than dried fruits and other dried food vacuum sealed and stored in a dark box. Things like Oatmeal, Mac and Cheese, and a few others freeze dried things you can buy off the shelf are great to seal and save for long periods of time. Just note, you really want a good DARK (non-transparent) bucket to seal them into as well, as light will have a negative impact on it as well. Just figured I'd share it here; not a bad thing to have. Even if you don't get 20 years, but rotate it out every few years, it's still very helpful to have.
  14. Thank you so much! I'd love to check it out, but I realized it's Sunday, and I'm flying out for work, just not sure what time yet! I might be there.
  15. Looking at the Mark 7, or the newer Genesys (not yet available but by the time I get everything setup, it should be).
  16. Question, can you come and watch? I've never shot clays, but find it interesting, and would like to watch. So is it possible, and do you need tickets/
  17. This is the kind of thing that I have seen a lot of going on. They get a government contract or sold off to another government and the general population doesn't get decent ammo. Thus another part of why I think I would like to deliver something to the community to make sure that it is good, quality, and try to be as competitive to the price as possible. From what I'm seeing, it sounds like there is some trepidation because of price. I can't promise to beat all prices, often that is outside of my control, especially before getting everything established.. But I can focus on quality. Not super expensive to break into the industry, I need to get the FFL first, and that isn't too hard, just a lot of paperwork, but even that is manageable. Thanks for the feedback, from everyone, not making any promises yet, there is a lot of work to be done first, but I'm working on it.
  18. I'm considering, already started the paperwork with the government, to get my FFL and authorized to manufacture and sell ammo. The question is, do you think people are willing to buy locally made Ammo? I know price will always be an issue, but my goal is to build quality ammo and make a little profit. I have read that a lot of the big name ammo companies have been purchased by the Chinese and thus looking to start another American only Ammo company. Any thoughts?
  19. Exactly how I feel. I never sell anything, only buy, so I never have to worry about it being used by someone illegally. But I buy, collect, and have them. But I don't trust the government and I don't want there to be a way to have it tracked.
  20. 20 years ago, in Commifornia, my oldest son was suspended for biting his sandwich into the shape of a gun. WTF? He was in 1st grade at the time, and oddly at the time we had no guns at all. BTW, he was suspended a few years later for bringing a weapon to school, Hot Sauce. I kid you not.
  21. Vegas is a bit of a haul, especially with 10+ people.
  22. I often shoot out at Raahague’s in Riverside. They don’t really care what you shoot as long as it isn’t obvious. Also if I was going to go, I was planning on buying a few CA compliant guns to keep here in CA.
  23. I wanted my family to come to TN but they wanted to come to CA. Go figure. But the one thing that they really wanted to do they can’t. I’m in South Orange County. I have reached out to GOA and see what they say, maybe their lawyers can find out some work around… maybe bring it to court? The guy at the range said I could go get a CA ID, similar to the DL but just can’t drive with it. I have all the paperwork to do so, but he also said that he has heard of people that do this and buy guns in different states, have gotten flagged by the ATF. I would love to get out of CA all together, but we have multiple properties we manage here, and my son lives here, so for now, we are going to hold on to the property.
  24. Went to the local gun shop, turns out you can’t even buy long guns in CA without being a resident. You can’t buy AMMO without being a resident! This seems to be unconstitutional. I own homes in CA and TN, but my primary residence is in TN. So why should I be forced to give up my 2nd amendment rights in CA?
