  1. Hi Len, and welcome to TGO, it is nice to see a fellow Gallatin Gun Cub member on here. You definitely need to shoot IDPA with us we have a lot of fun. Robert and Lee are going to have some good matches this year. Maybe I will see you there next Sat., Charles
  2. At the Gallatin Gun Club they have an ATA ( Amateur Trap Association ). They meet the 2nd and 5th Sunday every month, for more info. go to www.gallatingun.com and click onto ATA matches, you can call Ron and talk to him, he is a really great guy, if you have any questions.
  3. I know how you feel about not being able to carry at work, my work has always had a no firearms on property rule but it was not really enforced, heck my supervisor has a carry permit and has even brought his deer rifle to work, but that all ended about a month and a half ago. A employee ( Driver )at our Birmingham, Al. plant was at the biggest account, ( they had this account for 17+ years and if they lost this account several people would be laid off), being unloaded, so he decides to "clean his gun" while sitting in the truck and the gun (.380) goes off and shoots his pinkie and the one next to it off, and the bullet goes out the window to who knows where. Needless to say they almost lost that account, and after that all the employees was told no firearms in company trucks or on property included personal vehicles, and if a firearm was found the employee would be fired. I think the company is just protecting themselves from a lawsuit against someone being careless, and hopefully all this will blow over.
  4. That reminds me of a story of a older gentleman at work, he has shot a lot of shotguns over the years without hearing protection and his hearing has suffered. The company tested the employees hearing a few years ago, and only one person did worse than him, mainly because the other guy fell asleep. So now my friend wears hearing protection.
  5. For my Glock 19 and 23 I use a Don Hume Agent 711 OT. I bought a Sig p239 and I use a Desantis speed scabbard ( leather pancake holster ).
  6. A auction house link, if someone finds a firearm or firearm accesory. on a auction site, for example gunbroker, they can post a link to it.

  8. I do not know but try www.rimfirecentral.com , the guys over there are nice and helpful
  9. No, I am not a USPSA memeber. We do not have a practical shooting course but, we do have some great IDPA matches and they are going to have some side matches, ( rifle & Shotgun ) in addition to the IDPA matches this year and I am looking forward to them. Robert Standley is helping Russell Lee this year with IDPA, and they going to have some good and interesting courses of fire. I shot a Steyr ( only 9 rounds ) at the last match and really liked it.
  10. I would try different ammo if that does not work, you might try asking the same question at www.rimfirecentral.com there is a great 10/22 section but beware you will be tempted to hot rod your 10/22 after going there .

    Steyr Handguns?

I had the pleasure of shooting a Steyr (about 10 rounds ) at the last IDPA match, a guy had one that he shot the match with and done good with it, expert on the classifier, and he let me shoot it. I was about 10 yards away and I put a nice group in the 0 ring. The gentleman said he had about 23,000 rounds though it, at about 10-12 thousand rounds the safety on the side would work its way down and go on safe ( least I think that is what he said about it ) and he got that fixed and it has started doing it again 10k rounds later, but it worked fine for him during the match. He also said that the newer Steyr is made a little different and do not have that part on the new ones. Another gentleman bought a newer Steyr and he said it went full auto a couple of times and sold or traded it. I have small hands and it seems like the older one fit my hand better than the newer one did, just my $.02 worth.
  13. Condition 1 for me, and the reason I like Glocks is no external safety.
  14. It is the one by the steam plant, we have a 2 trap ranges and a rifle/pistol range that is 300 yards out. We also shoot IDPA every second SAT. which closes down the rifle/pistol range. It is a very nice place to go shooting.
  15. I seen a link for this forum on Glocktalk and I have been waiting for a forum like this for a long time. My name is Charles and Ilive in Gallatin,Tn. I usually carry a Glock or a Taurus 85ul. I shoot at the Gallatin Gun Club ( www.gallatingun.com ), and sometimes at Guns and Leather.
