  1. Back in my wilder days I drank hannah and hogg vodka by the half gallon. At around $10 per half gallon it was about as cheap a weekend as you could have. Once mixed in a cherry limeade from sonic it was the nectar of the gods to me. I did occassionally fight inanimate objects while drinking it though.
  2. Yes sir!! I'm already on the lookout for the above mentioned parts. Why do people sporterize stocks? To me it looks like on any rifle.
  3. A co-worker had this and needed some money for other things so I made him a fair offer, for both of us, that he accepted. Now to find a stock in original condition and a few other parts. I'm getting where I like these older guns better than the new stuff.
  4. Sent you both my info. Thanks for helping out.
  5. Thanks Erik. My son is having surgery tomorrow so the PIF has kind of been pushed onto the back burner for me. Guys if we don't get some ideas of who to help we may have to give the money to a charity this year. Not that there is anything wrong with that but this was started to help individual families.
  6. Lat year we did send $1,000, of the $4,100 donated, to Toys for Tots.
  7. $1,094.50. I guess everyone in the state is doing good this year since I have only had one request for help. This charity will go no where if you guys don't step up and give us some ideas. Last year we helped 10 families and I was hoping to help more than that this year. So I challenge each of you to be on the lookout for a family in need. They DO NOT have to be a member of this forum.
  8. I'm 6'3" and around 230lbs and y'all are making me feel small.
  9. There are many here that are beyond help
  10. Just under $1,000 received. Still need ideas about who we can help this year.
  11. I'm Billy and these are my life
  12. Over $800 received with 11 more that have pledged but will send the money at a later date. I really think we can break $5,000 this year. Also, I really need y'all to let us know who needs our help. So far I have only received one request for help.
  13. I don't know if you have seen the results from last year or not so here they are. http://www.tngunowners.com/forums/general-off-topic/31075-tennessee-gun-owners-christmas-pay-forward-2009-results.html
  14. We have already raised over $500 in less than 24 hours. That's just the money that I have actually received.
  15. Spending time with my youngest daughter before she has to head back to her mom's. She will turn 5 on Monday.
  16. Well said!!
  17. Any amount is welcome. Last year the standard donation was $100 but some gave more and some less.
  18. Well I'm a week behind schedule but it's time to get this started. http://www.tngunowners.com/forums/general-off-topic/44663-should-we-do-christmas-pif-year.html If you wish to donate pm me or post in this thread. I will be accepting donations through November 25(Thanksgiving Day). Also if you or someone you know could use a little help this Christmas season pm me telling me your/their story. I'm going to do my donation different this year. I will give 10% of the total amount donated for up to $5,000. My max donation will be $500. I prefer Paypal sent as a gift but will take checks and money orders. When a pm is sent to me or you post in this thread that you are donating I will pm you my info. Please put your TGO screen name on any donation. This is the only way I have of keeping up with who has donated.
  19. I just pre ordered one of these myself at knifeworks.com. I love my Izula made by the same folks.
  20. Yep!! Been there several times both before and after the gators death.
  21. It took me 8 months to get mine because of a bs arrest almost 10 years before. I was never found guilty of any charge and even if I was the charges I faced wouldn't have kept me from a hcp.
  22. I saw it and was blown away. He is amazing!!
  23. Talked to my wife and she would like to go as well.
  24. $5000 and I will change it for 30 days. My plan is to start accepting donations on October 1 and doing so through Thanksgiving day. I will be opening a secondary account at my credit union to keep this money separate from my normal funds. A couple have mentioned that it would be best for them to donate now and while I really would rather you wait I may make exceptions for a few cases(send me a pm if you feel you must donate now). I just don't feel comfortable holding someone else's money for that long. I hope to have the "gifts" on their way to the recipients by December 3. Also, if you or someone you know could use a little help this Christmas keep that in mind. I will start accepting "stories" on October 1 as well. All that are received will be added to our list unless I see something that seems dishonest, had one last year who asked for help but had just started a thread about a new gun purchase. Every person that donates will be able to read through all stories received and we will have a panel of 5 to vote on who gets what. I would like the same group as last year to do this but will leave that up to the rest of you. Last year it was; Bronker, Jeffssig, Macgyver, Gun Geek(haven't seen him around in a while) and TGO David's wife.
  25. Bronker, it's nice to see that you finally came out of the closet.
