I predict it will go back down after hitting $3.50-$4.00 per gallon. Remember in 2005 when everyone said it would hit $7.00/gallon and not long after it was back under $1.50.

This!!!
I guess it would be kind of hard for them to get their butts out of their rears so I fixed my first post.....lol.

I would much rather watch baseball than professional football. I'm really hoping my STL. Cardinals get their heads out of their rears and play ball this year........and sign Pujols already!!!!

Hey brooksjr. I'm sending you a PM. I've got twenty-one copies sitting around needing a home so I'll send you a copy on the house as a thank you for being my first reader. You must've gotten a new dog, too. We adopted one and she chews the life out of everything.
That's mighty nice of you!! My dogs aren't new just very mischievous

A few years ago around Christmas I tipped a Sonic car-hop $20 for bringing out a drink. I had to roll the window up on her because she kept trying to give it back to me. I would guess she was in her late 30's so I figured if she was working at Sonic she could use a little extra cash.
On average I tip 20%-25% when I go out to eat but have been known to tip close to 100%, especially if I'm using gift cards for my food.

Got my copy today but unfortunately the dog got to it before I did.......maybe with a little time and a lot of tape I can make it readable again.

For any TGO members that may be interested in the book, I've got a discount set up. Enter EGY8E3CP at Amazon and it takes 25% off the $13.95 price. Thank you all for taking the time to read all of this and for the well wishes!
I couldn't get the discount to work, maybe it was just me, but got mine ordered anyway. Congrats and I can't wait to read it!!

I got tired of waiting on it and canceled my order a few days ago. From what I gather the dealers were constantly being told they they would ship in a few days. This went on for a month so I said screw it.

That's awesome...I will definately pick up a copy.

dralarms if there is anything I can do for you just let me know. I lost my dad to diabetes during my senior year of high school(1995). It not only affected me but made me a whole different person. It's been almost 16 years, I was 17 when he passed away, and I still dream about him on a regular basis.

Who'd you order from Billy? I saw the week before Christmas that the production version was shipping to stocking dealers.
knifeworks.com.....they sent me an email today stating that since I preorderd I could finalize my order now since they are expecting to receive 350 this week.

Just completed my "real" order......I hope it's worth the price!!

I also received a Christmas card from the other family we helped. I will type out what it says for y'all to read:
Thank you so much for helping my family out. Ever since my husband lost his job back in October things have been beyond hard. But thanks to yoor help my children will get Christmas this year. Once again, thank you so much. It meant the world to us.
Merry Christmas
The rest of the money went to the above mentioned charities and I did not hear from any of them once the money was sent. I did state that all donations were a group effort from the members of TGO.

I'm am finished and have been for a week or more. Did all my shopping from the comfort of my bedroom.

As mentioned before I wanted to split the "charity" money up into three doantions, one for each section of Tennessee.
The charity I chose for the west, check sent Wednesday, was Prison Fellowship Angel Tree, which helps the children of people who are in prison. I personally talked the the pastor in charge of this for the greater Memphis area. He told me that $20-$50 is spent per child and that each child gets some neccesties and a toy.
For middle Tennessee I'm looking at this: Music City Honor Flight. I know it's not really "helping" families but I think those that risked their lives for us to stay free should have the oppurtunity to see the monument that was made in their honor. I just noticed that the link shows that the flight is in September of this year, they are still doing these flights.
For east Tennessee I'm leaning toward the place that trains the service dogs that is mentioned earlier in this thread.
If anyone has any problems with these choices please respond soon because I want to get the funds sent out.

It seems like lately that most days are "one of those days".

Gift cards are in the mail and I will be talking to at least one potential charity in west TN today.

Guys,
I am sorry that I did not get into this this year, while I was in Russia my Pay Pal account would simply not work, my wife has a friend from church they lost their father to cancer last month so we are making sure that they have the best Christmas possible. What it truly sad is when the 6 year old girl was asked what she wanted for Christmas, she asked for sheets for her bed, these kids broke mine and the wife's hearts,
God Bless you Brooksjr for doing this again, next year I will make up for this one
I was worried about you!! I'm glad to hear that you have a little PIF going yourself. I will be sure to put that family in my prayers.
All the gift cards have been purchased and will mail out tomorrow. I'm still working on the charities.

There are stiil all those homeless families living at that campground at 231 and I40 near Lebanon I PM'ed you about.
I know my church is doing some help with them. If you want me to
look into it I can.
Yes please do!! I think we should find a "charity" in each of the three sections of Tennessee and split the money between them. The place that JPS suggested earlier with the service dogs is in Maryville, I believe, so that covers east TN. If we help the homeless families you mentioned that would take care of middle TN. So now we need suggestions from west TN.

Wow! I don't get it. What needy family doesn't need food. Take that regular money and spend it on somethine else.
I have a family of four and some how we use more than $200 a week. All I can say is nothing.
I'm sure some homeless shelter will take the Kroger cards.
I must say that the I jumped the gun on the family that I previously mentioned above, edited the above post to delete that part, and the other is a single male.

Ok guys the Kroger gift cards have been purchased and one of the three has turned it down because,
"Thanks for the offer. Where I live in Dayton, there is no kroger around. Also, I am already getting 200 a month in food stamps and am hardly spending half that on food. So, if you want to just donate the kroger card to your local church's food bank or what have you.I need money more than I need foodand jobs are looking more and more promising as we go along.". I don't understand this but that's his decision. So now I need to find one other family that could use some assistance with FOOD for the holidays.Edit: I jumped the gun on one and it has been resolved.
