I'm glad you have family helping out. Sometimes they do a great job, sometimes they fail. What can you do? Just hope they come thru when really needed. Noise sounds like an issue. Hopefully by the time more mowing has to happen, someone will have gotten you some muffs or ear plugs to use. I'm glad pain doesn't seem to be an issue. That's a big plus.

Thank God you got thru the surgery okay & are safely back home. I'm happy for you and your family. Hopefully each day brings improvement and you start to feel better in many ways. It sounds like the road ahead will be long and require very little movement. That sounds hard. Hopefully you have a TV, some books, and a good laptop or tablet to use to fill the awake hours. We are all praying for you to fully recover.

When neither major party will publicly state support for the Bill of Rights, and specifically the second amendment, it will be another sign of the apocalypse for the USA. I hope to never see it. @Moped - I feel you got us all spun up for nothing.

To answer the OPs headline question, YES, I'M FEELING BETRAYED. It feels like the Dems have moved on to Marxism & Socialism and the Republicans are evolving into 1980 Democrats. If neither of the two parties will openly come out in support of the second amendment in a public way, we have a serious problem. It is looking like we need a third party to form and stake out a platform of fiscal responsibility (balanced budget), total support of the constitution, and securing the borders. Maybe call itself the Constitutionalist Party. With no 2nd Amendment, we no longer have a Republic. We will just be another European sh-thole, heading toward the exit of being a superpower, ushered quickly along by our enemies (China/Russia/N Korea/Iran). Even if the RNC dropped any mention of the 2A to try and capture some 'middle of the roaders' it still sets a bad precedent. It means they don't think they can win by taking a hardline on guns. And that will lead to thinking they can/should "compromise" on some gun control to capture even more voters in the future because, who else can pro-gunners vote for anyway? It means they take our vote for granted & won't be a reliable bulwark against infringement of our rights. I don't like it at all. It's a bad precedent for them to be setting. If the RNC doesn't think this matters, they are wrong. DJT needs to wake up & realize where his base comes from. I will not support a party that won't support me. Even if that means "throwing my vote away" on some distant nobody just to send a message. It's all I've got, really. Message to RNC and DJT - put 2nd Amend support back into the party platform. There is no Republican Party without a Republic. And there is no Republic without armed citizens to stand against tyranny. It's not negotiable or optional.

@Worriedman Your work on behalf of our rights is amazing and yet has to be so frustrating. Justice is slow and people seem so ambivalent at times. And even when you are right and have SCOTUS rulings on your side, you still can't get the TN Gov't to quit violating the law & usurping our rights. Maddening. Thanks for your work & explaining it to us in a way we can understand.

Un-freaking-believable. No First Amendment rights? Let's cover up the truth about what drove & motivated this particular school shooter because it might upset a certain group. And then we'll attack anyone that did print the truth because we can't have the truth out there. It's astonishing to me. I can't wait for the Tennessee Star to prevail in this case. It shouldn't even be a case. National security was not at issue here.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF TENNESSEE: SECTION 1. Tennessee Code Annotated, Section 39-17-1309, is amended by adding the following new subsection: (f) Notwithstanding another law to the contrary: (1) It is not a violation of subsection (b) or (c) for an adult person to carry or possess pepper spray, pepper gel, mace, a taser, a stun gun, or another similar device for purposes of self-defense when in any public or private school building or bus, on the campus, grounds, recreation area, athletic field, or any other property owned, operated, or while in use by any college or university board of trustees, regents, or directors for the administration of any public or private educational institution; and (2) A college, university, or other educational institution shall not prohibit an adult person, including a staff member, student, employee, and other adult individuals lawfully present on the college's, university's, or institution's property from carrying pepper spray, pepper gel, mace, a taser, a stun gun, or another similar device for purposes of self-defense when in any public or private school building or bus, on the campus, grounds, recreation area, athletic field, or any other property owned, operated, or while in use by any college or university board of trustees, regents, or directors for the administration of any public or private educational institution.

That was an interesting read. It never fails to amaze me that the Constitution - which everyone in elected gov't swears to defend & uphold - really just gets treated like any other piece of paper when those with power don't like what it says. They ignore it and violate it and someone has to get arrested & then fight thru the courts to finally get it fixed. But even then, we have SCOTUS decisions that should immediately invalidate the bad laws on our books yet they remain. They have a word for this - dictatorship. That's not comforting. @Worriedman Thanks for bringing these issues to our attention. It's depressing but important.

The worst part of the theiving is it will drive some local gun stores out of business and that's bad for all of us. As @Grayfox54 said, using cars to crash through a business is the play of the day in Memphis. Steal car/SUV, smash it into front of store, steal products, leave, repeat. Put up barricades? Great! Who's paying for that? Not much profit margin to work with & any raising of prices drives locals to online retailers in ever greater numbers. It's a death cycle for the business. Too bad we can't cheaply airtag all the guns so cops could recover them & catch the bad guys immediately. That would be somewhat of a deterrent. Claymores could help, too...(I joke! Sort of...mostly.)

Try the ATF fix. Nothing to lose really. Someone will want to buy it regardless. Anything pre-2000 in trucks is getting more desirable for their simplicity and longevity. Cost to rebuild & fix is still way cheaper than buying new.

My second boss and his wife took separate vacations. At the time he told me this I was a young adult, newly married, and thought that was crazy weird. Fast forward thirty years and I now laugh at younger me. Separate vacations are genius. Every couple needs to find what works for them and then do that. Screw what other people think or do. It's an A B relationship and other people can C their way out of it.

Quality guns. Basically the same as a Weatherby Vanguard. They've been around a long time. Well proven design. Buy with no fear. It'll probably be good to great, leaning more toward great.

So...what optic company DOES offer a lifetime warranty on the electronic components? I'm not aware of any, so whoever you go with will be "SIG"ing you in a few years, too. But I respect your complaint/rant! The Sig Sauer Electro-Optics Infinite Guarantee DOES sound like everything is covered...right up until you get to page two. That's misleading. It's called the ELECTRO-OPTICS guarantee. The title itself mentions "electro" & guarantee. Then page two tells you to get lost if the 'electro' part goes t/i/t/s up. Not cool. But...again...I think ALL optics company limit the electronic part of the warranty. Rather than trash the rangefinders, I'd disassemble them. You've got nothing to lose at this point. Maybe you find some corrosion you can clean up or a lose wire you can resolder. Or not. But worth a look since Sig already kicked you to the curb. Best time to see what goo is inside Stretch Armstrong, so to speak.

Winchester "white box" (WWB) ammo has a mixed reputation for quality & consistency. As a practice/plinking ammo, it's probably fine, but not something to trust your life to. On a related note, some steel cased ammo and some aluminum cased ammo will often choke up a gun (failures to extract/eject) so neither of those are great for 'save your life scenarios'. Since your Sig seems to run reliably on most ammo (other than WWB) I'd deem it 'good' and hang the blame on the ammo itself in this case. But if it starts to choke on other brands of brass cased ammo, I'd start investigating the pistol itself.

I can't believe this is still for sale. Such a high quality safe for a fraction of what they cost new. Bump for a good deal that someone needs, I'm sure. Good luck with your sale. Someone in east Memphis surely must be seeing this and realizes a $400 safe could save them thousands of dollars in stolen guns...right? Bolts to the floor (concrete) so not going anywhere. And dial locks are more dependable and "foolproof" than the electronic ones. This is the "blue light" special of Easter!
