    New toy

You have a good revolver there,I had a model like that about 15 years ago,it came with 3 barrels and extra sight inserts of different colors,I wish I never would have sold it off.One of the most accurate 357 mags I have ever shot.I have kept my eyes open for one of these for awhile now.One nice feature of this design, you can make the cylinder gap as close as you want,it increases the accuracy once set correctly.Darn fine piece, congrats. My Dad has it in 41mag,still is a fine shooter after 30 years.
  3. I have the 24/7 DS in .40 S&W and I like it fine, they are a fairly decent shooting pistol.I have about 200 rounds downrange with about 50 of them being JHP with no failures of any kind. They are pretty accurate if you dont mind the double action trigger.Although they do have a shorter single action reset. The 24/7 I have is pretty close to the OSS,minus the ambi safety, but it does have the decocker.I like mine.

    Back to 1911

Cant go wrong picking a Springer, nice looking piece.Congrats
  5. Its just too funny that when someone defends themselves against bums like this people say he is on some kinda drugs, but think nothing of the aggressor to begin with,I say people get sick and tired of these thugs and they suddenly get what they had coming all along.
  6. Well as far as an update, not to much to report, after 3 days I still am smoke free, just a little crabby, maybe that will go away, but I doubt it cause I was crabby anyway. So as of this moment my Springer is still safe at home.:D
  7. I have my 3rd one on the way with 2 others in the drawer, you can tell I dont like them.
  8. A big welcome from your neighbor in Lakeland, hope you enjoy the forums here, its full of great people with lots of shooting knowledge.

    My New Colt

Wheres my shades, man thats one glimmering beauty, very nice looking Colt.
  10. Good luck man,I think we all need it.
  11. I have shot a bit of it in .45ACP but my RIA doesnt care for their reloads,I havent had any problems with the . 40 or 9mm.
  12. I think its called being a glutton for punishment, have you ever noticed how people will go out and drink a bunch and the next morning say I deserved the break,I know cause I used to drink about half a barge a week,I stopped 6 years ago and havent had alcohol since, but I deserved it.
  13. yeh,my wife asked what I was gonna do about the crabbies,I said sex,and she said good luck with that.
  14. Good for you,I am glad that there are quite a few that have quit.Is your wife shooting the 36 also,I thought maybe you were going to lose it to her that day,she was eyeing it up pretty closely.
  15. Yeh,I think the SIS would definately be one of my top if not on the top choices.
  16. thanks for the good words, right now I have 2 boxes of the Nicoderm warming up in the cupboard,I think cold turkey completely would just mean a dead turkey somewhere else,so I guess I am going to use a little help along the way.
  17. Yeh,nice try,We agreed if I relapse back to my old ways I would have to sell it,so it gives me a little incentive besides the cold sweats, headache, nausea and the other host of things that go with quitting, besides being utterly knarly for awhile.Oh,and not being able to take a decent dump in the A.M.:drama:
  18. Yeh,this has been coming for a long time, now at $75.00 a week on something that kills you in the end,I cant see anything positive about it any more.Good luck at your attempt also, maybe its not too late to broker a new gun deal with your wifee, hey, all you can do is try, right.
  19. Well,me and the wife decided that smoking is getting so expensive that its time to quit,Its gonna be a bummer because I have smoked for 30 some odd years. But,to make it better we agreed I could purchase a new pistol of my choice with the agreement that I would have to remain smokeless,So now when my current stash of 15 packs of butts run out I guess I will be in the market for a new 1911 in a officers size or smaller Kimber or Springer, possibly a SIS Ultra or a Micro Compact in preferably .40S&W or 9mm.I have 3 .45 ACP's so I would like a caliber option other than that.I actually am looking forward to quitting now,its gonne be hard but I am gonna give it an honest try. Well, considering I have committed to this no smoking deal my wife let me pick out a new piece, its a Springer EMP40 and man this thing is a shooter, put 80 rounds downrange without a malfunction of any kind.I ran a box of PMC FMJ thru it first and then switched to Winchester SXZ Personal Protection rounds for the last 30,I think I have found my new carry piece. The bottom target is the hollow points and the top target is the FMJ with 3 magazines of double taps, just to see how reliable and accurate a semi rapid fire would be,I am a very happy camper.:D
  20. Yeh,I was thinking of getting busier with the dremel and polishing the whole frame,I only did the area on the front hood and grip area,I sure cant believe how rough the machining is on the frame, its possible that someone else had a small hand in all the dings and dig marks. As for the Brazil mark, things could be worse I guess, could say Slobobia on it.
  21. Hey fellas,I was wondering if anyone has ever tried to refinish a Springfield 1911 alloy frame, well I did and failed miserably,Allumahyde would not stick to the frame without cracking,I ended up spending some quality time with stripper and a brush last night to get the darned stuff off(and I dont mean the other kind of stripper either).Sooo I ended up polishing the frame but I dont know if I like it.Anyone have any ideas of other types of coatings that may work, any one ever ran into this problem. Here is a few pics of my near chrome looking Springer.
  22. I will +1 Ya on the MTAC,I wear one daily, and also have a Crossbreed Supertuck but the MTAC is my favorite. The one on top is for my Taurus 24/7 it would be close to the same for your Millinium, the bottom MTAC is wearing Crossbreed clips. Here is a couple of pics for reference
  23. I dont care what they say, thats funny right there.
  24. Thats the caliber I have wanted one in,I think they make a great carry piece.
  25. Yup,they are a fine looking pistol,I sure wouldn't mind owning one myself.
