  1. I wonder what the outcome would have been if she had a live hand grenade,Quite explosive Im sure.
  2. I would say he used too much gun butter.
  3. Yeh,I suppose checkering would be the way to go but that means having to send it off and then have the frame refinished, then wait to get it back.I dont know if I want to spend a good bit of money on something like that.I see Brownells has a product that comes 1X12 inches in strips, thats around $20.00 also.
  4. Just wondering if any of you use any type of grip tape on the front straps of your handguns, the front of my EMP is definately slick, any ideas.

    My taurus PT1911

Yup,I really like my Taurus,it also has eaten any type of ammo I put in the mag.I added only a few goodies to mine, the trigger is really good right from the factory, probably quite a bit better than my Kimber in fact.I added a EGW Carry Melt Extra Thick bushing and a Wilson Combat 2 piece guide rod and a set of Raasco grips and called it good.
  6. Nah,it doesnt work for me:D
  7. Nice job,I may have to try that Rit dye some day. Thanks for all the suggestions.
  8. Thanks for all the replies, thats one nice thing about belonging to TGO,lots of help when a person needs it.
  9. So then it would look like a dull stainless,it wont actually effect the hardness of the metal although(asking)not stating.
  10. Now thats funny but true right there.:D
  11. Recently bought 2 boxes of Golden Saber at $ 31.99 a box of 25,so I would say thats a pretty reasonable price.By the time a person finds the ammo of choice and pays shipping(sometimes as much as another box of ammo).
  12. Hey fellas, dont know if any of you have run into a problem with Rugers finish on their stainless 10/22.I went to clean it today for the first time since I bought it over a year ago,so I stripped it down past the stock, took the bolt, trigger assembly and charge handle out of the receiver and promptly soaked it with Hoppes NO 9,upon this I noticed the(what seemed to be a Duracoat finish) inside the receiver peeling. To make a long story short it was all peeling,so I stripped all the finish off, which was not very hard to do I might add.Well now I have what looks to be a real stainless finish on this rifle. Now I know that the receiver is actually a alloy,so what I am wondering is will it hurt to leave a finish off the metal. It actually looks really good after I polished it a bit with a 3M Scotchbrite pad.Let me know what you guys think(Will it hurt or not)I am guessing no.Pics follow
  13. The middle knife in the picture is a Kershaw Leek G10 it has what they call S30V stainless steel,it was shaving sharp right out of the box.I use it at work for cutting carboard and other types of material. So far I havent had to sharpen the blade and it still remains very sharp. As for resharpening I guess I will have to wait and see how hard the steel is to rehone. Its been a very good all around knife, but a little expensive. And the knife is made in the UNITED STATES OF AMERICA(YEAYEA)
  14. Ruger MK III with a Ascent 1X42mm Red Dot
  15. Nice looking knives, one question, are the blades damascus steel.
  16. yeh,500 bucks buys a lot of ammo and a couple of concealable holsters.
  17. Kershaws are definately some well made knives,I have a Kershaw Leek G10 thats shaving sharp, assisted opening and all.nice knife.
  18. I have a Nikon Prostaff 4X32 on my Mini 14,when I was shopping for a decently clear scope I compared a couple that I could grope. To me the Nikons seem so much clearer to my eyesight, that even compared to a Leaupold at more than double the cost.I think Nikon scopes are pretty good quality for the money.
  19. A big welcome,I too spend a lot of my days off at Range USA.I would almost rather be their than anywhere else.Too many guns and not enough money.

    "Good" Entry 1911

Ill start with the Taurus PT1911AR,has a lot of the features from the factory that others charge extra for, also has a good trigger right from the factory. The RIA has a few features also that come standard on the tactical models, such as Novak style low profile sights, good trigger pull, commander hammer, slightly beveled mag well and a beavertail grip safety to mention a few. Both the Taurus and RIA are less expensive for the features. Then we could move into the Springfield loaded category that has all the goodies from the factory-hence the loaded term.Runs usually in the $850.00 range. After this price range you could probably find just about anything a person would want from a 1911 inbetween $850.00 and $1200.00 like one of these Or this OF COARSE THIS IS JUST MY OPINION(DONT TRY THIS A HOME)
  21. I owned my first 10/22 when I turned 16,which was awhile back.Since then I have had 3 or 4 other 10/22's.They have always been reliable and found at a decent price. If you ever want to add some goodies to the rifle there are countless amounts of accessories to be had for the Ruger. I am a Ruger rifle fan
  22. I use Fiochhi 230gr Extrema in my .45acp.Also 158gr Extrema in my .357 Mag.I have read somewhere that testing on the Hornady XTP bullet was very favorable with good penetration and expansion was also good.I know in my 45,s it seems pretty potent.

    Kimber Set

Nice looking Kimbers,I wasnt a big fan of the magwells until I got a Kimber TLE/RL II on a trade with one installed already,to make a long story shorter I liked it so much I installed a Kimber Magwell on my RIA CS-Tactical.It works pretty decent.Adds a little more grip on the officers size frame.

    COLT COBRA

Colt revolvers are of some of the finest crafted wheel guns that anyone has ever made.If you really look at the fitment of the sideplate and related parts you can barely define the seams where they are machined.Nice pistol.
  25. Quite correct,Sig.357 is a necked down .40 S&W,completely different.
