  1. When I sighted mine in we used a bench and sand bags at my dads place in Michigan, hes been a Mini 14 fan for many years.he touched up my trigger group and sighted it in for me.Hes the right man for the job,im just a mediocre shot myself.
  2. My 581 prefix will put them all in a 1.5 inch circle at 100 yards, they are not bench rest rifles but do pretty well.
  3. I have a Redhead Ascent 40mm on my Ruger MK III,it works great, albeit looks a little large but it is extremely accurate.I can punch the center out of a 2 inch orange circle at 36 feet no problem, even with my 50 year old eyes.
  4. Naw,my kid released back to me and I will carry it,its a good shooting pistol,I just thought it was a bit weird that the offered price was so low.
  5. Nope, nothing wrong with the metal, its Alumahyde, the frame was refinished in Teflon by a fellow here in the Memphis area.Nothing mechanically wrong with the pistol.I think the lighting also makes it look funny. The bore is clean without a trace of pitting.
  6. looks pretty nice, there are a few other makers of these type holsters.I wear a Supertuck myself but would more than likely purchase a different makers holster. At around 30% cheaper he should do well. Some of the bigger names have had a hard time keeping up with demand.
  7. So my son had my old Springfield Compact and has been pining for a different pistol, needless to say he went to Guns&Ammo on Summer Avenue and they quoted him $150.00 in a trade value for something else.Heres a picture of the pistol,I think they quoted just a tad bit low, opinions anyone. Now I do realize that used guns never retrieve a decent price when trading, but I think this was a lowball quote. Needless to say I traded him a Taurus .22 Mag back for my old .45ACP.
  8. My son has the .40 cal version of the Cougar,it shoots real well and aside from a few limp wrist problems in the beginning its been 100% since.I shot his pistol and like it quite a bit,I had no failures with it at all.Pretty darned accurate also, its action is a bit different with the rotating action, its actually pretty smooth.
  9. I think the sights are the same as they use on the Springer Loaded Target,I really like them, congrats on the RO.
  10. I only have two of them at present but they both are all I need until another fancy strikes me.
  11. :Dlived in a snow climate in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan for some 40 years,I got tired of walking to school in waist deep snow, uphill both ways with a 50 mile an hour north wind in my face, well some of this sentence is a little overexaggerated, mostly the wind part.:rolleyes:the snow down here is a major pain just because a lot of people dont know how to drive in it.it could all dissappear for another year now.
  12. Just goes to show you,the nuts are running the nut house.
  13. What I normally carry is a Ruger SP101 with a 2.25 inch barrel, non bobbed hammer.I tried carrying the 1911's but the large ones are downright too heavy for me.
  14. My dad has a Thompson fetish,he has several barrels and frames included.Seems they are all he likes to shoot these days.
  15. About 3/4 inch of snow in Lakeland so far with all of the local schools closed for tomorrow.
  16. I have a Springer Loaded in 9mm thats 100% reliable.Right now I carry this pistol on my off days from work.So far I have about 700 rounds downrange with not a single malfunction, therefore I put into carry use.Its very accurate also. I currently carry it in a Crossbreed Supertuck which hides it pretty decent.
  17. Good review,I have had a Mini for many years, started out with the 180 series and at present own a 580 series. They have always been reliable and not that inaccurate, good enough for what they are meant for.My series 580 is a quite accurate at 100 yards and keeping it at a 2 inch group.I am keeping mine.
  18. Great choice for a revolver,Ruger is hard to beat
  19. Very nice Springer you have there.I wonder how well the porting works,it looks great.
  20. Daily carry is a SP101 in a Galco Combat Master strapless
  21. Very elegant if I dont mind saying so
  22. Springfield makes a loaded model in 9mm also, mine has been 100%.As previously stated they are a lot of fun to shoot, little to no recoil.
  23. Yup,wish we were all able to work for employers that felt the way yours does.Pistol still looks great.
  24. The newer model 88 comes with a pistol grip in the box.A person can attach it themselves.I think you have to buy the Protector series with the 18.5 inch barrel although.Any of the pistol grips advertised for the Mossberg model 500 will work also.
  25. Jay,that pistol looks familiar,could it be???
