  1. They are in the $200.00 range,I paid around that for the stainless 22 inch barrel.
  2. Its always funny,A couple of weeks ago there was a article about this person was stabbed to death going to his vehicle.Of coarse it was a robbery victim. The part of the article I did not understand was the fact that these crimes could be lessened if guns were not easily available to young thugs.I wonder what they dont understand about the word (stabbed).

    Ruger SP101 4.2

I think they are a nice addition to the SP line, target sights and the right length barrel,Would even make a nice carry pistol or trail type pistol.
  4. Very true of the receiver, mine was a painted silver and on cleaning it for the first time I noticed inside of the receiver the paint or finish was flaking off.So I completely removed the old finish and polished the receiver to a shiny looking aluminum. Its been that way since I purchased it.And I also bought mine at WalMart a couple of years ago. Its hard to tell from the picture.
  5. Those grips sure look good on the Springer,I had a set on my EMP when I owned one,a person sure wont lose their grip, thats for sure.
  6. I use my SP as a second carry piece.I was carrying it full time till I started using my Aegis. They carry quite well depending on the type of holster used.there are a bunch of different makers for holsters,Crossbreed,Galco,Blackhawk,Tucker Gunleather.Finding a good holster is not a problem.everyone is correct on the saying built like a tank, they will handle full power loads with ease.i have carried a lot of different pistols in the last couple of years and the Ruger is a keeper.
  7. First a person has to ask to what use the pistol will be for, range use, concealed carry, bedside gun, competition,so many different aspects that a person has to consider.first decide what you want it for and then move on to a search for the right pistol.A 1911 can range from a 3 inch model to a long slide in a 6 inch.
  8. I have a Kimber Ultra Aegis which is for the mosty part a Ultra CDP but in 9mm,I really like this little pistol. It even goes into the bathroom with me(just in case)you never know.I have had it for around 6 months and have had zero problems out of it.If the Ultra Carry and the CDP is as reliable as mine you would do well.I know there are a few Kimber haters out there, but in all honesty I have had 4 of their pistols and none of them gave me any problems.I did although own a Ultra CDP awhile back that was a little problematic, but in all fairness I really didn't feel like dealing with it at the time. Most of the Ultra models usually simmer down after a couple of hundred rounds. The Ultra Aegis I currently have was reliable right from the get go.No trading on this one I know for sure.
  9. Galco Combat Master with a Kimber Ultra Aegis, most comfortable method in my opinion and easy to conceal when needed.
  10. Our cell contract ran out in april with ATT,we now recently dropped our cell service with them.My wife has a T-Mobile no contract phone thats $30.00 a month for 1500 minutes.I on the other hand after 7 years have no mobile whatsoever. My last usage on my phone was 8 minutes for the month,I could not justify $100.00 a month for that low usage.I dont miss having a cell one bit.
  11. Now that there is a good one, isn't it always the Bush Fault Line.

    Kimber

Nope, not on my Ultra Aegis,no wear like that what so ever, and the Aegis is an alloy frame also.

    Kimber

Absolutely the best 9mm carry pistol I have ever owned,Ultra aegis II. And it this point I wouldn't trade it for anything,500 + rounds a zero problems.I did however buy 2 Wilson ETM mags for it,just perfect.
  14. Holy Cow,I thought I was the only living person in the world that thought they were totally useless,I was at Range USA on a Monday morning and a woman came in from the back range with a pretty nasty cut on her foot,Yup you guessed it,wearing flip flops of all the stupid things to wear at a place where there is flying shrapnel, well of coarse I started paying attention to these people.Grown men wearing them also.
  15. Darn thing is I didn't think I wanted another full size 1911,but this pistol just shoots great. They are pretty tight from the factory and I really can see the target sights well. For around $750.00 a person could do worse.I have had a few 1911's in the Government size but this even beats the Kimbers I have had.Well picture or it didn't happen.
  16. So I received a FNH Forty Nine on a trade the other week and was a little apprehensive about the DAO feature of this pistol, but I have to admit that after a small range trip all my worries dissipated into the target. For a DAO only trigger they dont shoot to bad, albeit the pull is a little long but it breaks fairly clean. The only bad part of these are the fact they quit making them in 2006,so parts are a little iffy.Any one have any experience with this pistol besides me??Well here is the obligatory pictures or it didn't happen. The hole under the trigger guard is getting used to the trigger, but after a couple of rounds they all fell right.

    S&W 1911PD

Nothing better than that new 1911 smell, congrats.A fella I worked with had the same model and really liked it.
  18. Thanks,I think I will try the 6 grains of Unique.range report to follow,I hope.
  19. Yup,the mail lady came to my door and said she had a book for me,imagine that I told her,I cant even read.Good pictures though.
  20. Well, pretty muchly the same thing I have carried for the last 6 months or so,Kimber Ultra Aegis(made in America also)including a Kershaw G10 Leak(made in America)in a Crossbreed Supertuck(made in America),all on a Beltman Bullhide belt(made in America).Kinda sounds like a commercial. Also would be made in America.
  21. Just wondering if any of our reloading guru's have a recipe for Hornady 165 Gr XTP in .45 ACP.Preferably with Unique powder.I cant find any info at all for this.Possibly in one of Hornady's older reloading manuals.Info would be gratefully appreciated. My dad gave me about 300 of these he had laying around. And yes they measure .451 and weight in at 165gr.
  22. I was thinking about a yearly membership awhile back but it never came to be.I also have looked into MSSF but their initiation fee is just to steep.
  23. Yup,I think I will have to give that range a try on my next Thursday off.The kicker is I only go to the range at the most usually once a month, sometimes maybe twice. In my last three tries it been two out of the three. One of my co-workers took a day off to shoot and we ended up waiting the hour and a half,on a Monday morning no less. Not gonna wait anymore.
  24. Range USA in Bartlett, its already large enough but their classes use up the biggest side of the building. But whats weird is they will leave it closed even when there are no classes.
