Panic Prices Have Hit Reloading Also
krunchnik replied to krunchnik's topic in Ammunition and Reloading
I would have an extra also but I had no plans of reloading another caliber-along comes a S&W 610 that I purchased from a member at a great deal. On top of that I found out I really like this pistol and caliber-so more shooting involves more reloading. I also joined MSSA here in Memphis so now I am shooting at least once a week. If you have an extra I would be willing to purchase it from you-but don't go out of your way-someday they will return in the regular channel's-I am not willing to feed the gouging animal. -
Happy New Year and good riddance is right.

So-for the giggles of it I thought it would be nice to have a separate die set for 40/10mm-one in 10mm and one for .40S&W. All I would need is another $11.00 4 hole plate for my Lee Turret-and another set of dies-but not so fast. I found a set of Lee Carbide 4 die set for $45.00 which is about normal-but turret plates are few and far between-what one's I found are in the neighborhood of $45.00 each up to as much as $95.00 each-none to be found anywhere that they normally are in stock at- Flea bag is the only place I found them-some offered new in boxes by the same vendor-guess capitalism is alive and well. Every plate I bought have all been $9.00-$11.00-not now though-I kinda hope the guy that bought them all up gets stuck with them in the end. Willing to bet the seller knows nothing about reloading but a lot about market manipulation-hope he has to pay $100.00 for his next Big Mac.

I have installed the Big Dot sights on 2 of my carry 1911's and I like them a lot-much easier to see that front sight. 1 in fluorescent red outline and the other in bright white.

Objective Factors for Classifying Weapons with “Stabilizing Braces”
krunchnik replied to DaveTN's topic in General Chat
Posted my comments also for whatever it's worth. I have no AR's with this type stock but I think there should not be any ATF regulation's on them. -
I have loaded .300AAC with the Hornady bullet you are talking about but with Winchester W296 which is basically H110-14.9gr of W296 with the crimp at the cannelure and good accuracy. I have to get a chronograph sooner or later so I know my velocity-but they shoot quite well and at 130 yards they ring the bell pretty good.

I found Winchester 20 gauge trap and target load at Bass Pro at $28.00 per 100-which I think is reasonable and they had quite a bit.

I have joined MSSA and now have somewhere to shoot without having to wear masks and stay 150 feet from another person. I have enough brass ammo in rifle and pistol to keep me shooting for awhile but thought it would be nice to break a few clay birds. I have enough to shoot a little of 20 gauge but thought I would look for a few extra boxes-of 20 gauge-not the most popular shotgun gauge-not when compared to 12.
-
Trap or target loads in 20 gauge are all but non existent-really never expected it to ever be difficult to find target or trap loads. The only thing I can think of is either their has been a ton of lies told about how 7 1/2 shot is good for self defense or the manufacturers have heavily geared up to load a butt load of buckshot. Which shorts a lot of the off popular loads for a later date. Anyone have a clue why?

Should the flag on a S&W lock show?
krunchnik replied to DaveTN's topic in Gunsmithing & Troubleshooting
I have done a little research into the like it or not lock-seems some of the members on the S&W forums actually say to leave the lock alone. Seems the only evidence of malfunctions all came from severe recoiling aluminum framed big bores in the 3 inch barreled variety's. -

I have the 610-3 just like yours and the flag on mine looks exactly like yours-just sticks up that little bit. I think in the picture if you look close you can see the corner of the flag. -
Sounds like you have a ejector problem-extractor does just that by pulling the empty from the chamber-then the ejector does it's job by just that ejecting. I think in the bolt face it should have a ejector mounted on a spring that forcibly pushes the brass out from the facing. There are a few different makers of kits that are upgrades from factory parts.

I began trying to find some components for a new 10mm acquisition-found brass-hardcast bullets and a couple of ammo boxes at Midway. Also 2 boxes of factory 10mm 180gr FMJ for $30.00 a box-from AmmoLand-and the rest I have so I kinda lucked into everything else. I already reload for .40 Short and Weak so I mostly had everything else. .

I had the blue in 4 inch like a thousand years ago-did a lot of shooting mostly .38 Specials-nice find.

I have a brother and sister in-law that are heavy into their own gardening and canning-I haven't heard if they are having difficulties finding them or not.

So-we have seeds to grow Paw-Paws-where's the seeds for the Maw-Maw's Sorry-I couldn't resist.

I have a subscription to Ammoguide and they are listing the same as what you have with 158 gr and 7.0 gr of Green Dot-also showing another with 6.0 gr. Chrono from a 6 inch barrel at 1250 fps-fairly speedy I would say. They are not specifying brand of bullet.
-
Here is a stupid question-are you using the right caliber pellet-and if you are I am going to assume the barrel is worn out-but highly unlikely.
-
That is exactly how I feel when everyone is scampering around looking for ammo-a few months ago I spent a few hundred dollar's ordering powder-bullets and primer's-and I sure don't regret spending the money. Now when there is an ammo panic I can relax in the fact that I was prepared.

I guess I got 1 less than an arsenal-all my other ones fell outta the boat into Lake Superior.

So-is an arsenal over 20 but under 100. Asking for a friend
