56 FordGuy, everything lines up; but you instilled an idea to calibrate the depth of the rounds in the cylinder. The unfired rounds are about .234" from the end of the cylinder. Based on that measurement, and the depth down the barrel where my caliper stops, it looks like I have an uncharged round in the barrel. Primer was enough to get it out of the case, and I think that it is lodged between the end of the cylinder and the barrel opening. Does that make sense to you? And if that be the case, any ideas on how to remedy the situation? Maybe slowly tapping it back in?

I was at the range firing a few handload recipes; all went well - about 40 rounds went fine. I loaded a cylinder of 125 gr fmj with unique powder(I believe) first round was click and nothing else, I waited with gun pointed down range and nothing. When I tried to open the cylinder, the release wouldn't budge, the trigger is frozen as is the cylinder. I tried the 'key' for the internal lock, and that is not the problem. Right now I have a fully loaded weapon with no way to open it. It is stored in a safe place at present. Does anyone have any ideas as to what caused the malfunction, or more importantly how to fix it? Any help is appreciated.

'Zero' is a brand of bullet

I have only been reloading for a month or so and to date a couple of hundred rounds loaded and all have left the gun with no problems. I have a pretty good grasp of how things work,as I did a lot of reading and research before actually building any loads. My question concerns bullet types in the various load datum available. If the weight of a bullet is the same and jacketed, does it matter if the load given is for fmj or jhp? I understand that there are differences for cast bullets and plated or jacketed, but if, for example, a load is given for Hornady xtp, would it not be the same load for a Zero fmj? If anyone can enlighten me I would appreciate it.

Does anyone know if either the Bluebird or 3rd & Lindsley ( Nashville music venues) are posted?

Fired first reloads today and have a question
Billco replied to Billco's topic in Ammunition and Reloading
No noticible recoil or loudness, all rounds hit the mark. The brass was a mixed batch, mostly Winchester once fired. Powder is HP 38. Next time out I'll mark the cartridges. I do think that for my first time out, it went very well. Thanks guys for the response and input, all help is appreciated and needed. -
Loaded 24 rnds 230 fjm 45 acp with CCI primers on a Lee classic turret. Charged half with 4.6 and half with 5.0 (.1 gr variable). Tested my work with three guns; S & W 325pd 4", Kimber Custom 2 and Kimber Ultra Carry. All hit com at 25 ft, and I was a happy reloader. I noticed when I got home that I had 4 cases with a 'V' on the rim. I think it was with an ejector damaging the case. The crimp was the same for all, so the only differece was the charge. (I fired 4 of each charge through each gun). I don't know if it could have been the light charge in the Custom 2 or the heavy charge in the Ultra Carry. I need some experienced advise here please.

Factory Sales LLC, located in Hartford, WI about three miles from Lee Precision factory. Their prices are better than Midway's on Lee Equipment, but I can't find out much about them. Has anyone dealt with them?

We just got back from Logans - Rivergate. No sign of any kind. Great meal with my wife and my ultra carry on my hip (CC of course). -

Many thanks, Fallguy, for keeping me and the rest of us so current on the issue. Your knowledge and input/opinions are greatly appreciated. -
Are they even in session today? House has 'no events scheduled' for today. The Senate has FWM committee calendar meeting only. Both are scheduled for floor sessions tomorrow (5/27). Wouldn't be when the over ride is brought up?

Does anyone either own a Dillon Holster or know anything about them?

I bought the Garmin Nuve 255W a couple of weeks ago at Electronics Exp. Factory reconditioned, same warranty as new. Cost was $99. I used it a lot going to Charlotte and Pigeon Forge last week. Great piece of equipment.

I have the single stack, double stack and the mini 14 loaders. Great products!

Meetings next year are in Pittsburgh and St. Louis the following year. My wife and I (both NRA members) will be driving over on Thursday; the good news for the drive is that the work on the rock slide at the Tenn/NC border should be completed next week and I 40 re-opened.

I have used a feebie (&upgradable) download that works great. SUPERAntiSpyware.com | Remove Malware | Remove Spyware - AntiMalware, AntiSpyware, AntiAdware! It searches really deep and finds bugs and files that other AV's couldn't. My regular anti-virus is Bit Defender, and it is the best I have found. Hope this helps

I have used Testors bright orange from Hobby Lobby. I also put a coat of flat white on it first to obscure most of the black steel. Had a cotton swab with thinner on hand for any goof-ups, requires patience, a steady hand and a tiny artist brush.

Since this is a Davidson County court, does it have any effect on the rest of the state, except maybe to set a precedent?

We are heading to Louisville this weekend. I am pretty well up to speed on their carry laws, but cannot find out about the Frazier Museum and the Louisville Slugger Museum as to wether they allow weapons. Can anyone enlighten me please?

Does anyone know anything about the 'Breckenridge Inn' in Louisville? My wife and I are going up for a couple of days later this month, and looking for accommodations. Any suggestions?

Do the boobs on the flying lady hood ornament light up?

Thanks for all the input guys. Pretty much decided that, while I do love new and innovative weapons, I think the old standard (642) is gonna be mine. I appreciate all the info and opinions.

I am considering buying the LCR. Looking for feedback from an owner or someone who has had one on the range. Any opinions on how the 642 and LCR compare with each other?
