Errors in "The Walking Dead" television show. What did you notice?
Hershmeister replied to mikadosoft's topic in General Chat
Love this show too! Agree it's odd they don't scavenge to "marry up" to better weapons + wheels. The director had access to the military props and vehicles since they're in the show....oh well PS: most of the characters in the show have life expectancies less than the red shirts on star trek! -
Where do you get these? PS: Pappy Van Winkle is the best bourbon I have found yet. Their 20 year is amazing, the 12 is great, and the 10 is very good. Hard to find but grab it if you come across it!

Love my P238 Have an LCP as well, but the single action of the 238 is sooo much better

I'm in suggestions: #1) Buy the .net and .org domain names RIGHT NOW so you control your domain - will cost you $20 #2) I don't frequent places that do not want me to be able to use my 2nd Amendment right - not sure the "display propoganda" makes much sense to anyone but the already converted #3) Recommend adding to the About Carry Permit holders section - somethign to the extent that Carry permit holder are PROHIBITED from consuming or being under the influence of ANY Alcohol while Carrying a firearm. This one piece of information is ALWAYS missing from the MSM as they try and conjure up a drunk wild west saloon shootout image. As a corollary to #3, I always wonder if the same anti-gun folks would be just as interested in requiring licensing liquor establishments to only serve one drink per person in the interest of saving lives from DUI. It makes sense, and nothing makes me more scared and turn my stomash more at a bar than watching people gulp down down drink after drink. I mean really - who NEEDS a Jagerbomb? Only that drunk ass person who is likely to smash into me and my kids. Its the same argument except that we accept the risk of drinking/driving and restaurants owners have LIABILITY if they over serve someone. I;m no lawyer - I wonder what the liability would be if a business owner CHOSE to make his establishment "GUn Free" and I was injured/killed there and my HCP gun was in the glovebox of my car......and lets just say that said bar has a history of scuffles/drunk asses getting thrown out/in a rough part of town, etc.....I'd have to think someone is gonna pay a LOT of money.....

The solution to this website and effort is not simply take your money elsewhere. This is a classic pressure effort to change behaviors. Their marketing message is simple: 1) provide a survery demonstrating that the "majority of people" don't approve of guns+alcohol in a restaurant 2) Ask the owner is he/she wished to support the majority? 3) Provide no-gun sticker and publish on website 4) repeat and then leverage the ever growing number of posted places as further evidence to #1, thus adding momentum to your story The reality is this isn't a 2nd amendment issue as much as we'd all like ot think it is. the average store owner smply wants to make money and drive the fewest number of customers away through bad publicity. if the argument is 5% of TN residence have permits vs 69% don't approve of guns in a restaurant, which side do you think the owner will fall on when faced with making a decision in front of a website owner/supporter? Fear is a fantastic motivator, and this group is using it well. The proper countermeasure to their story is to have the restaurant owner consider his/her legal implications of choosing to NOT post should a shooting occur in their business, and HCP holders were prohibited by that owner from carrying and suffered injury/death. The Lubys case is a real world example of this. They also must be informed that HCPs are prohibited by law from drinking AT ALL while carrying a firearm. This is convenietnly not mentioned in the website or in the survey. Thus you can use logos and pathos to win the argument - but its a long fight

you may try a different powder which has a greater volume too. Most fo the 380 loads are tiny - I've been using Accurate #5 for my LCP and Sig238 with good results- the load data calls for a mid 4 grain load, which at least fills up some of the case!

2000 rounds of 75Grain Match Prvi .223 - its also hollow point

alabama sales tax is pretty much a wash vs. the shipping charge for the CMP cans of ammo. Therefore is you aren't planning a trip anytime soon, just go ahead and place an order. Only issues is you won't know when to expect it, which if you go there you will for sure leave with your car loaded down.

I just started reloading this round - if any of you have any 7.5 MAS brass lying around in your miscellaneous bucket - please give me a holler.

I just watched that video and I would hardly call that a straw purchase The male purchaser simply said his female friend was helping him fill the paperwork out. Its not clear at all from the video which persons ID was presented and whose background check was run, who paid, and who received the handgun. In fact the video is edited in a number of places. This makes me highly suspicious that anything wrong was done - otherwise the "investigative reporters" would not have had to edit the film and the straw nature of the purchase would be much clearer. What is clear is that the salesman acted very professionally and most certainly was not ignoring obvious straw behavior nor encouraging such behavior. Is this the most provocative video that Mike Bloomberg present to the public? I have been in the Armory store just after a straw purchase was attempted and they sent the person on their way out the door, no gun and they did not pass go and collect $200.

you can order zeros direct from the manufacturer HERE

I havent been in the Hartman store yet but have been to the Armory on 231 a bunch of times. Good folks, helpful and interested in helping you out. The store inventory is bigger every time I go in. They definetly had the coolest Christmas decoration - a Tree with 308 linked rounds as a garland, painted Frag grenades as ornaments and a LAW and MG-53 under the tree! Armory has a large supply of reloading supplies - powders, primers, dies and some basic reloading gear.

Do you prefer jacketed bullets over cast lead
Hershmeister replied to a topic in Ammunition and Reloading
i like Zero bullets - but the Precision Gold is a little bit less it seems - will try them next -
Definetly call Dillon - their customer service is top notch. They can hook you up with spare parts - usually at no charge - Its still a good idea to buy the spare parts kit so you have stuff on hand and don't have to wait for it to show up. As the above poster said, you need to keep the ram lubed - motor oil does the trick nicely and is what Dillon recommends. As far as primers go, your lack of a sprign is an issue, but another often missed item is properly aligning the primer seating cup which is a bit of a PITA but when you're done, your done for a long time. also - be sure the cup itself is seated properly - it rests on a little spring on the primer arm on the 550 (not sure if this is the same on the 650) and you need to use significant pressure to pop the cup in place to the right height - it easier to do out of the machine frankly. As i said the 650 may be different here, but the point is theres a lot of tips and tricks that come with just taking the time to figure out how it all works together and talking with the nice folks at Dillon.
