  1. The AWB stand alone vote let's Dems up for re-election in 2014 to vote against it . But the package of other gun control laws still is being developed and I can easily see mag capacity being called out for mags greater than 30 rounds and posaibly less, while the rifle part of the AWB is left alone. Also a ban on semi belt Feds too would give the pol something to tell their base that they "did something" while not upsetting the AppleCart of the majority of firearms owners. Increase on NFA tax would generate extra money and be hard for most gun supporting pols to oppose. How could anyone oppose making it a little harder to get a machine gun? Internet ammo sales will have something done I am sure - even if it's a reporting mechanism only. Beyond working around the edges of tightening existing rules and laws, politicians will need a shiny object to hold up that people can "see" thT something was done. So Keep those seatbelts fastened
  2. This video is worth watching - its a sarcastic take Now be careful with that humor!

  4. From their Facebook page Apparently Gov Hickenlooper has announced that he will sign HB 1224 on Wednesday. We were asked for our reaction, and here is what we said: We have said all along that based on the legal problems and uncertainties in the bill, as well as general principle, we will have no choice but to leave if the Governor signs this into law. We will start our transition out of the state almost immediately, and we will prioritize moving magazine manufacturing operations first. We expect the first PMAGs to be made outside CO within 30 days of the signing, with the rest to follow in phases. We will likely become a multi-state operation as a result of this move, and not all locations have been selected. We have made some initial contacts and evaluated a list of new potential locations for additional manufacturing and the new company headquarters, and we will begin talks with various state representatives in earnest if the Governor indeed signs this legislation. Although we are agile for a company of our size, it is still a significant footprint, and we will perform this move in a manner that is best for the company and our employees. It is disappointing to us that money and a social agenda from outside the state have apparently penetrated the American West to control our legislature and Governor, but we feel confident that Colorado residents can still take the state back through recalls, ballot initiatives, and the 2014 election to undo these wrongs against responsible Citizens.
  5. Go to the bill goodman gun show in nashville. Some real odd characters there should make some unique photos
  6. I went - usual cast of characters. Not a lot of selling taking place other than one guy that I saw who brought what must have been ten pistols and was selling them like they were going out of style - all were in the 300-400 range. I did manage to score a can of 100 milsurp 50BMG for only $250 plus tax so that was cool! And managed to sell one rifle as I was walking out the door. The Prepper thing next door was interesting - the doomsday Prepper folks from nat geo were there looking for folks! Yikes!
  7. Received this in a package buy and have no clue what rifle it belongs to. Any help is appreciated
  8. Are they honoring the old prices ?
  9. This - and on the higher end based of your description

  11. This is good news although I'm surprised the court didn't apply the injunction until such time as the state proved its case
  12. What a bunch of sh$tbags "Since the landmark Supreme Court decision in Heller v. District of Columbia in 2008 that redefined the Second Amendment, we have tracked all Second Amendment legislation and litigation nationwide.  We provide information and support to cities and states facing challenges through maintenance of a brief bank, pro bono research and support, and amicus briefing."

  14. Are there cases that actually challenged the laws or are you just saying that none has ever been filed?
  15. Ding ding ding! We have a winner! The same legal arguments used to counter voter is laws would apply to universal background checks. That is, that requiring citizens to purchase an ID or otherwise place a burden o any kind on excercising their voting rights would disenfranchise minorities and the poor. A universal mandated background check would equally inhibit the 2nd amendment. In TN you must pay the $10 BG check fee but you retain the option of a private sale, which may be why no legal suit has been brought against it. A Universal Backgriund check would also have a tranfer type fee paid to the dealer for his time and effort in handling a private sale. IANAL TGO attorneys - what say ye?
  16. If a federal universal background check law was passed mandating BG checks on all gun sales - both interstate and intra state, would it pass constitutional muster? Would it matter if the checks were "free" vs having a payment required? Under what legal argument could the Feds control intrastate sales? Discuss
  17. There is a mighty big difference. The Affordable care act was upheld as a TAX. Since the 2nd amendment is a RIGHT, it would be impossible legally to tax it or require insurance to exercise a right. Now it might be possible to require insurance for HCPs but even that might not pass constitutional review since Heller declared you have the right both inside and outside your home.
  18. Dont F@&$ with new Yorkers! http://youtu.be/BTdhVxva5KU
  19. Any law requiring purchasing insurance to Exercise a constitutional right would be struck down. No differently than poll taxes were stuck down.
  20. Reason We named an entire Age after it. It's nice to see it make a cameo appearance
  21. Barney Miller is anti gun? My world just got rocked. ;)
  22. +1 for one second after and Atlas Shrugged Highly recommend everyone revist 1984 and Animal Farm. Orwell was prescient.
  23. Im not a lawyer, but I would expect that there is big difference between a private company choosing who to do business with bases on shared values and a Governmental agency choosing to use its buying power and politica influence to interrupt the contractual arrangements of two private businesses. I think the term is "Tortious interference" Any TGO attorneys care to comment?
  24. This is major news and of course has hardly been covered by the msm
