That plastic sling point will last about 3 seconds once you use the sling. Perhaps you can find a more durable sling hook at your local big box hardware store.

Someday....

Yeah, I guess I wasnt as blown away as some when we looked at them in Vegas. Like I said, Im sure Ruger will sell a ton. Your experience selling 4 so quickly backs that up. I guess the Ruger or Kel-Tec will do the job in a pinch, but I still wouldnt take 10 of them over my 340PD. 5 shots of 357mag out of a J Frame that weights the same as a Kel-Tec .380 is a better solution in my book
-
Have you actually held one in your hand? I have. I was ok, but I wasnt blown away. What makes it "better" than the P3AT? Im sure Ruger will sell tons of them, but just like all the hype around the SR9, I feel that the LCP wont live up to all the expectations, and will be adequate at best. PS. Welcome to the forum! The same can be said for cars. Automobiles were created to serve as reliable modes of transportation. While they still serve as transportation, cars have become a part of our culture. With speed limits set at 70mph or less, it really doesnt make sense to purchase sports cars or hotrods capable of speeds up to (and past) 165mph. I dont think people buying these cars (which are a terrible "investment" and very poor use of resources) are buying them with anticipation of using the cars 400+ hp and 165mph top end during a bank robbery get-away. Instead, people buy these cars for the pure joy of it. Sure, they can be used as transportation, which is how they partly justify it in their minds, but in the end; they are buying happiness. The same can be said for expensive, weird, or niche firearms. If you took the joy of ownership out of the equation, the only thing we would need would be a good revolver, a bolt action rifle, and maybe a shotgun. Thank God we live in a country that we aren't required to explain or justify our firearms purchases. (yet) Anyway, I agree that the Charger in stock form is useless, and in Hero-Gear "super-cool" form, is even more useless. But who cares? I average 45 gun sales a week, and I would say half of the guns that leave our store are purchased out of pleasure, not need.
-
Roger that! I dont know why everyone has to "justify" the creation, marketing, and sale of a given product. Sometimes, its best to realize that people buy things simply because: 1. It looks cool 2. They want it 3 They can Here is a Charger that we cut back, threaded, and added a YHM Mite suppressor to:

The short answer is: Yes, you can get them in 3 round burst. How do you get them? Spend around 12-15k on a transferable M16. Long (and very detailed) answer is here: http://www.tngunowners.com/forums/showthread.php?t=5294

Rabbi You have never served in the military or been a participant in armed conflict have you? Ever actually been in a situation where you went black on ammo, and your ability to transition to another system, or reload your current one was the difference between life or death? Ever used a firearm for anything other than a toy, profit center, hobby, or for killing paper circles? I think its funny that you continue to joke on anyone that carries something made in this century, or a gun that is capable of holding more than 5 rounds. I will refrain from posting in here again, as I dont want to take away from the OPs thread. To the OP: Sounds like you had a great time, and increased your knowledge and skill set. Hope you never need to use any of the training you received, but if you do, im sure you will be better prepared than some.
-
We are not talking specific techniques here. We are talking TTPs or Training Tactics and Procedures. In other words; The points stressed regarding tactical/combat reloads are more about battlefield mindset, not what hand you load a shell with, or where you keep your extra ammo on your person. I agree that there are few (if any) documented cases of citizen using a shotgun for defense, running dry, and needing to reload another 5,6,7,or 8 shells. BUT, I thought the logic behind training was to practice and become better prepared for situations that may arise. If you want to defend your family with 7 shots out of your 870, more power to you. Using your logic (no documented cases of running dry) why dont you just load your shotgun with 3 rounds? That should be enough to get the job done, right? I would also suggest loading your (many) wheelguns with only 2 or 3 rounds. That should be more than enough to reduce any threat you may face.
-
Thats the difference between an admin reload, and a reload when bad guys want to kill you. The same can be said for an weapons system. If you plan on using any firearm to defend your life, you owe it to yourself to be proficient at reloading on the run, one handed, in total darkness, and/or one handed. Why? you may find yourself in a situation where your ability to do so is the difference between coming home, and coming home in a box.

Yes, since you will NEVER be allowed to buy the select fire version (should they ever be produced)

As you may know, I know Richard and the entire crew at MP pretty well. I have been pretty vocal about my frustration with them introducing badass prototypes and then not taking them to production, or selling the design to a company that will only screw up the original spirit and design (Like they did with the Masada, when they sold it to Bushmaster a few months ago) We played with the "Glock in a box" out at SHOT, and pretty much fell in love with the overall design. I spoke with Nick offline, and he confirmed that (as with the Masada) it may only exist as a design study/prototype while in Magpul's hands. Just like I was promised 2 post sample Masadas that will never come (There are a few Magpul branded prototypes that Richard will control, but all others will be Bushmasters) he confirmed that I shouldnt hold my breath on the SMG.
