We have a bunch of trade show and event sponsorships coming up this fall and winter, so I did a bunch of 2x3 and 4x6 banners. lol. I understand how the "system" works... or more specifically DOESN'T work. Ask HK how much money they spent on their US production plant in GA in support of the XM8 program. Ask how much money the Remington lobby group was paid when the M110 program was set to fully replace the M24 program, only to have that decision overturned, and a new policy letter drafted that changed the MTOE to authorize BOTH M24 and M110 systems within the same battalion. The list goes on.

So the Army/DoD spins up the Joint Service/Combat Pistol trials, companies like SW, Taurus, HK, Ruger, FN, etc spend MILLIONS of dollars designing and producing guns to compete for the contract, and then the Army pulls out. (*claiming lack of funds) NOW, the Army is back "...looking for a replacement to the M9..." Reminds me that some things never change in the Army Hurry Up! Wait! (do pushups while waiting) Change of mission! Hurry Up! Wait some more....

The all forms data would include Form 2s which do not trigger a "transfer" but an addition to the NFA registry

I'm sure the economy has slowed transfers, since it has slowed ALL retail sales within the industry. But the spike in 2008 was directly tied to a fear of the NFA being changed or altered by an Obama run White House. I can tell you that I personally sold LOTS of NFA items to customers that were "...going to hurry up and buy...before Obama kills the NFA..." etc.

Im too lazy to read all the other comments, but I recommend a good QD style 9mm suppressor for your G19, and then threading your 10/22 to accept that same 9mm suppressor. You will have little to no performance loss by shooting subsonic .22 out of your 9mm can, and it allows you to "spread the stamp" over several platforms. * I don't prefer or recommend mounting the 9mm can on a .22 pistol, as it would be bulky and slightly front heavy, but mounted to a bull barreled 10/22 it will perform VERY well.

I have a friend in Northern California that is thinking about putting an outdoor range complex in, and I thought I would solicit some thoughts and ideas from you guys. Location: The land is about 10 minutes off of a major Highway (thats what we call Interstates here) and is about 45 minutes to 1 hour away from major population centers. (think something like Mboro/Nashville type area) Being Semi-Private, members would support and drive the business. There would be a "daily rate" for new shooters, or people that just want to come out once or twice a year, but for the most part he is looking for members. Non-Members wouldnt get any of the perks the annual members receive, and would be limited on what days/times they could use the facility. Bottomline; membership has it's perks. Facilities: He is looking at 50 to 120 acres, depending on layout and terrain. Clubhouse would be member only Small retail facility would stock shooting supplies, rent range guns, etc Picnic area, place to just hang out Ranges: 1000m Range (there are no 1k ranges that are easy to access within 100 miles of this place) 100m to 600m rifle range 25m to 100m carbine range 25m pistol range .22LR training range 3D archery range Sporting Clays course ** A 10-12 bay indoor range could be an option within 3 years with the right number of members Membership costs: Annual Membership @ 800.00/yr per person Family Membership @ 1200.00/yr Immediate family (up to 4 people) Military/LE membership @ 550.00/yr per person Active/Reserves/Retired Military and Active LE Non-Member Costs: 10.00 per day No access to clubhouse Membership Perks: 1 Day per week would be Member Only days. No non-members or "Day Pass" shooters would be allowed 2 Mornings or Afternoons per week would be Member Only. What he needs help with is nailing down the acceptable membership fees. As you know, this facility wont be cheap, so paying members are a must. What sort of fees do you guys see? Are the proposed fees something that a serious shooter would support? * The cost savings in ammo may make up for over half of your membership fee throughout the year... If YOU were a member, what sort of facilities, features, ranges would you want to see? One final note; He is planning on capping the membership at 1000 to 1500 members. What does that mean for members? It means they wont belong to a club that is constantly packed and busy. You wont have to wait all day to get a lane, etc. Any and all advice, thoughts, criticism is welcome!

Wow. Dept. of Homeland Security will be at an airsoft show? That tells me one of two things: 1. The promoter is full of crap, and DHS will not be there. 2. If in fact DHS has a light enough work load that they are working/overseeing/attending an airsoft show, I call for the immediate reduction in their budget for funds, equipment, and personnel.

A buddy has rented TGPR for a street car test and tune (You can bring a race car if you like) Monday July 18th Myself and another guy need to back out due to work/mechanical conflicts. This is a very rare (and inexpensive) opportunity to go drive TGPR, and you will get TONS of track time!
