  1. Ted Clutter IS THE MAN! He is our examiner, and is one of the faster guys at NFA Branch.
  2. Update: Just confirmed with my guy at Sig that these ARE a special run of 1000 units for Bud's, so its best that you contact the guys up there if you want one.
  3. Its like a 2/3 scale of a P226. It should fit your wife's hands perfectly.
  4. I dont know. I have a cal into Chris, but havent heard back yet. I doubt its really exclusive to just Bud's, but you never know.
  5. Meh. I can't speak for everyone, but I could care less if you link to Bud's. In fact, I have posted their webpage, contact info, and address on here in the past.
  6. U fails at teh internezzzz
  7. Quoted For Truth....
  8. This guy is a pretty big stud
  9. I need to call my guy at Sig! (better not let my wife see that, she will claim the first one that comes through the door!)
  10. Back on topic: CONGRATS to the OP on his SBR! If its pending as of the 18th, you should be getting something in the mail this week!
  11. Yep, but that wouldn't be very civil....now would it.
  12. David "The Bend" is where we take all the crazy people when they are doctor/State committed or referred for evaluation. When we (the Sheriff's Dept) would be up in the ER waiting for the on call doctor to make a determination, we normally would let dispatch know we were "pending transfer to the bend" Anywho...I guess a joke fails to be funny if you have to explain it Joke: Failed
  13. Maybe they meant: Pending (transfer to Moccasin Bend)
  14. I think its total overkill, but if big companies want to spend tons of money to insure peace of mind, who am I to argue? Unlike Katrina, lots of people have already evac'd, the National Guard is activated and in place, and there is a huge PMC force in place. I doubt you will see the cheeky shenanigans that took place last time.
  15. Right now this is an armed static gig, which will require you to be licensed or commisioned. Since this is a rapid fielding, I doubt anyone that doesn't currently meet the standards will get hired for Gustav. There will always be the need for this sort of thing, so take this time to start the process of getting yourself qualified. I blasted this message out to a few other places and so far have 4 qualified people. If you are interested in this sort of work today or in the future, let me know and I will be happy to help you get placed. *if my schedule allows I will be down there next week to work as a teamleader. If I end up going, I will have more info when I return.
  16. One of our training/security partners is down in the New Orleans area conducting security operations for a major big box chain during Hurricane Gustav. They are needing 20 more qualified and professional bodies on the ground. This is a static security gig, and will require Armed Guard/Security credentials or current LE commission/credentials. Pay will be 400.00+ per day, all meals/lodging included. Travel in and out of the area will be your responsibility. Recommended kit: M4/AR15 rifle with 400 rds of ammo Handgun in 9/40/357/45/10 with 200rds of ball ammo 4 sets of uniforms (tactical pants/polo or black, blue, grey or green BDU style uniforms) Duty belt/rig complete Body Armor (if available) All required credentials This gig is projected to last 2-6 weeks+, and is available for immediate deployment. You are not required to work the entire time, but need to inform the PM at the start of your rotation your estimated availability. If you are interested in consideration for this assignment, please email a one page resume to Joe@hero-gear.com Joe CEO Hero-Gear LLC Hero Guns www.hero-gear.com
  17. Last time I checked, YOU started this thread to complain about the high fee requested by one of your local FFLs. I didnt see Franklin Gun (or any other dealer for that matter) coming here starting threads like, "I can't believe my customer's dont like paying 50.00 per transfer" Look man, its a free market economy. Don't like the price or quality of the services received? Simple: TAKE YOUR BUSINESS ELSEWHERE. We have beat this subject to death in multiple threads. I think we have all come to the concensious that: 1. Its acceptable for dealers to charge a fee for their transfer services 2. Dealers may charge whatever they wish to for these services 3. You are not required to use a particular transfer agent, so if you dont like the fee, the attitude, or what the guy is wearing; continue your search You as the customer can not directly influence or dictate a dealer's fees or prices. Their business. Their prices. But, you CAN influence him indirectly. If a dealer's price/fee is perceived too high; don't do business with them. They will get the point eventually.
  18. I dont know, but I DO know they are planning better for riots and chaos this time around. I am supplying equipment, kit, and firearms to security contractors that will be on the ground tonight in New Orleans. Blackwater USA is digging deep to get enough personnel on the ground. In other news, 20th SF Group has been alerted, and as of right now will be sending those that volunteered to be mobilized down to the Alabama coast. If it gets really bad, those of us that didnt volunteer (myself included) will be involuntarily mobilized for that mission. My prediction; its not going to be as bad as everyone thinks, the levy will hold, and all will be well.
  19. Yeah, I have been studying this Rosetta Stone stuff pretty hard (excuse the pun) Im thinking about calling and see if I can sign up for one of her courses. I figure I could be speaking fluent wang with her in no time!
