Thanks for your service and dedication Colonel. Perhaps you can post more info about the TNSG here, as there have been several interested members here. Any words of wisdom, insight, advice on joining and serving in the State Guard? What sort of jobs/ranks are available? What sort of qualifications or prerequisites are you looking for? What kinds of missions/duties can one expect? Is there a formula used to calculate your rank/position based on prior Military service and rank? And finally; is there any discussion about moving away from BDUs and goofy patches, and transitioning into something that better matches the current Army/NG uniform?

I was too pissed and worked up after dealing with the BB staff to stop by and visit. I had purchased a pink Dell laptop from the BB website, received one that was DOA. Called customer support (BB) who told me to call Dell. Called Dell, who told me to call BB. Finally get BB to send a new computer out....and guess what? D O A! So, we were there to return the 2nd computer and exchange it for something non-Dell. Cliffnotes: Dell and BB can suck the big one.

Reason #3948894 that you know you are getting old: You're taking your kids to their first rock concert. So I was talking with my daughter (12) this evening and she says "hey Dad, do you like Motley Crue?" I proceeded to tell her some of my Crue stories: A dozen or so concerts, hanging with them backstage at Monsters of Rock '90 (maybe it was '91) dating Vince's cousin, hanging with Vince down in Portland when he was doing the PIG Racing thing, almost breaking Micks hand backstage in 99/00 (whatever year they toured with Anthrax and Megadeath) etc. Needless to say, my kid though that was pretty cool! She asks if we can go see them next weekend in Nashville (sold out) so we jump on eBay and bought 4 tickets for this coming Saturday. In a way, im pretty stoked my kid is old enough to do fun stuff like that with her. But im pretty freaked out that im old enough to have kids interested in going to rock concerts!

Good to hear of your positive experience. I would like to think that our criticism of his previous stance on the "loop hole" has helped him see the light, and hopefully will be a more positive voice for all 2A issues.

That shop owner is wrong, and there is no "hold" on the ATF approval process (currently) It is taking longer to process applications, but there is no stall or delay order in effect.
