  1. I contacted Doxa last year about getting set up as a dealer. I could have pre-sold about 20 watches to good customers, and was planning on adding Doxa as our premium watch line. Their response?
  2. Looking good.
  3. Congrats on your new 1911! Sorry I missed you this morning. (me and those damn Bankers hours... )
  4. What do you see from Command Arms or Tapco? I see Hogue grip, Troy free float rail system, Magpul Pmags, Troy Industries sights, etc. (I still think Bill Ruger can suck an egg, but that rifle is sporting top shelf kit)
  5. I lurk on Timezone.
  6. Welcome to the party Ruger....Where ya been?
  7. A real CSi will run you 50k+
  8. Started reading Clive's books YEARS ago. Good stuff.
  9. Plus Dirk Pitt rocks them!
  10. Jeff Meister is our dedicated 1911 smith.
  11. You should have ordered from the largest 5.11 dealer in the state.....cough cough.... Anyway, you need a 2XL? What color? If you need to, you can ship me your belt and I will ship you the correct one. Just pay shipping.
  12. I am Rolex Submariner Gold/Stainless with blue face/bezel Rolex Submariner Gold/Stainless with black face/bezel Breitling Navitimer Omega Speedmaster Professional A bunch of assorted "work" watches Pics: Shiny- (The blue faced Rolex is my daily beater) Not shiny- These are my field/OCONUS watches. The Suunto has been on numerous overseas deployments. I have used Suunto products exclusively in my "other job" for about 15 years+ years. The watch to the right is one of the early prototypes of a Nike branded mil-spec watch my buddy designed while working with the Oakley/Nut hugger shorts guys (SEALs) The other two are 5.11 field watches.
  13. USASOC USSF
  14. What did John @ Wilson say? Hopefully he is able to tell you the build info, who it originally sold to, etc. BTW: The patch on the slide (USASOC) doesnt match the one on the bag (USSF)
  15. It was great meeting you, and we hope you enjoy your new SIS!
  16. That makes perfectly good sense. We should post the Ben-O deals in open forum to motivate people to step up and donate.
  17. I cant speak for all shops, or all situations but I will tell you that we have taken guns back due to malfunction, and then dealt with the manufacturer at a later date. We have usually offered to swap the defective gun for another of the same type, or if the customer wishes, roll the amount paid for the original gun into a new one of their choice. Customer, Gun, Malfunction, Situation, and what I had for breakfast will vary.
  18. In regards to this whole "is it worth it to be a Benefactor" thing; I guess only they can decide, but I think TGO is a great resource for anyone that visits the site more than once. This is OUR site. It can either flourish and be a huge resource for it's members, or it can fade away and fail like the hundreds (if not thousands) of other failed message boards do each year. One thing I am committed to is not only supporting this board, but supporting those members that have stepped up and support TGO. I will make an effort to post more Benefactor-Only deals in the Ready Room on a regular basis. I would rather see the super crack-head deals go to contributing members of the board, rather than some guy that stumbles into my shop because he saw some good deal on a website he doesnt intend to support or participate in. Anyway, I hope you guys see that TGO is a real asset, and hope that more of you will step up and support the site. **I will also call on other members to offer Benefactor-Only discounts or deals in the Ready Room. -If you have a good deal on live bait, why not offer it in the Ready Room first? -If you sell cars for a living, perhaps offer a free tank of gas with purchase to all Benefactors. -Work in an electronics store? Maybe you can kick down a little extra discount.... -Etc -Etc ***David, perhaps you can make a "Benefactor-Only Deals and Savings" sticky in the Ready Room.

    Custom 1911?

Sam does great work and is a very good option if you want a custom 1911 built.
  20. Looks like a great time.
  21. I wonder if they actually have it in stock yet. (using a generic stock picture) This would be one of the first guns to actually ship if it is. They must have ordered theirs at 10am on the first day of SHOT! (ours were ordered around noon on day two )

    Custom 1911?

Absolutely. We will encourage you to inspect frame/slide fit, as well as the trigger. We will also recommend that you spend time with our smith, discussing your personal needs and requests, so that he can ensure you get exactly what you want. And before anyone asks; we will provide complete build sheets which list each part, and the source. (ie: Kart barrel, Ed Brown this, STI that...etc) We will also disclose WHO EXACTLY will be producing our frames and slides, since we all know there are very few actual manufacturers of these parts.

    Custom 1911?

His name is Jeff Miester, and he trained at Cylinder and Slide. We will be displaying some of his previous work in our shop in the coming weeks, and should have the specs for our Hero 1911 pistols soon. We will are planning to offer a 4 model range, with the ability to custom spec within each model. More to come....
